How is it a false teaching if there is no scriptural reference to it? I have been sick so I am trying to catrch up on the posts but everyone keeps saying it is a false teaching orfrom the devil but as far as I have seen no scripture to back it up without taking it out of context or trying to make it say something it isn't

Where in the bible can we prove this was not from God?
?
I was referring to any false teaching, and what it attracts.

Do you have a specific teaching you wish for me to address?

False teaching is a phenomena we face in various ways in our spiritual warfare.

Here is a question and a story I visited a church called rebibal for Christ this place was unlike any other church I have been to the spirit hits you like a wall when you walk in. well the preacher was a woman and she was preaching powerfully as I listened I began to feel a kind of trance take over and my head kepts falling backwards but I resisted it until the third time now I had a broken foot at that time but the spirit took over my body and I began walking to the stage barely aware of what was going on

she kept preaching seeing me walking to the stage and as soon as I got to the top she put her hands on my forehead and my body fell backwards but was caught by several people who began speaking tongues over me I even tried to resist and get up but my body simply wouldn't and I saw a portal open and jesus was smiling at me

Now this was what I think is called slain in the spirit but my question is if this can be explained with scripture
Hello Blain,

You're very precious to the Lord Jesus Christ and He loves you very much!

Tell us how long were you on the floor... what happened when you got up off the floor.... was your foot completely healed? Were you changed in any way? Have you noticed anything different about yourself? God's touch changes us.... He imparts something in us... which is usually for others... yet, a blessing to us, too.

I do not want to get into a never ending debate about the temporary gifts.
So, I will leave it at that.
Rom. 11:26and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written:
“THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION,
HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB.”
27“THIS IS [k]MY COVENANT WITH THEM,
WHEN I TAKE AWAY THEIR SINS.” 28In relation to the gospel they are enemies on your account, but in relation to God’s choice they are beloved on account of the fathers; 29
for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. 30For just as you once were disobedient to God, but now have been shown mercy because of their disobedience, 31so these also now have been disobedient, that because of the mercy shown to you they also may now be shown mercy. 32For God has shut up all in disobedience, so that He may show mercy to all.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7:22-23
Many don't understand that yes, Jesus said they WILL say that, that doesn't mean it will be true.:)

Out of curiosity here, but just how many Pentecostal/Charismatic Members do you believe are participating Christian Chat Members?
More than you know.
And BTW, Quit with your inaccuracies of putting the two groups together.

Take heed therefore how you hear: for whosoever has, to him shall be given; and whosoever has not, from him shall be taken even that which he imagines to have. Luke 8:18

OK.....

What happened to Paul with his temporary gift to heal?

Erastus has remained at Corinth, and Trophimus I left sick in Miletus.

2 Timothy 4:20

I do not believe for a single thought that the two are the same or likened to each other. But I know the stigma concerning outside views towards both so I group them only based upon conversation. When I claim that my walk in God is based upon the Gospels from the setting we read in the Book of Acts merely means I might be Independent but my ties are only closer to one of the two groups, Pentecostal.

Anyways, let's examine your response here for a moment... MORE THAN YOU KNOW...

Are you thinking 25% - 50% - somewhere between or greater than?

You forgot they could do nothing unless the Spirit gave utterance.

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

I forgot where that chapter and verse is.

Could you help me out, please?

Why was Paul no longer having the gift to heal?
Paul never had the gift to heal. The Holy Spirit is the gift giver, and He temporarily empowers individuals to manifes them, according to HIS will, and in HIS timing.

Three verses that underline this would be Acts 2:4, Eph 6:19, and Col 4:3

He always had the gift, but only as the Holy Spirit's authority enabled him could he do it.
That's the only way any Spirit baptized believer can do it.
So... you are saying tongues are for today.
How is it a sign today to the unbeliever?

Brethren, do not be children in understanding; however, in malice be babes,
but in understanding be mature.
In the law it is written:
“With men of other tongues and other lips
I will speak to this people;
And yet, for all that, they will not hear Me,”
says the Lord.
Therefore tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers;
but prophesying is not for unbelievers but for those who believe. 1 Cor 14:20-22

What happens today is just the opposite.
For tongues was to be a sign to Jews at that time refusing to believe when hearing their native tongue spoken
by those whom they knew could not speak their language....

I will speak to this people; (Jews)
And yet, for all that, they will not hear Me,”

That is not happening today.

It was a sign to the unbelieving Jews who were about to have Jerusalem judged by God for their refusal to believe!

Now it's temporary?
Before it was given, with God not changing his mind?

So, tongues also could temporary.
