I think it would be different for each couple. Some people are so extremely attracted to each other that they probably shouldn't even kiss because they may ot be able to control themselves. But with others hugging and some kissing may not make them want to do more.

There are some things in life that can’t be undone. Being intimate with someone is one of those things. Once it happens, you can’t just pretend it didn’t. And once you’ve tasted it, you will only want more of it, more often. As Matthew said, once a relationship reaches the point where certain feelings are stirring, it’s time to talk about boundaries. Boundaries are good. Without them, relationships can be needlessly and irreparably damaged.

Very young women oftentimes don’t understand the fire they are playing with. They truly don’t. I used to be one and all of my friends were too, so I know this. J We didn’t have a clue. There’s a huge difference between reading something in a magazine/romance novel/chick flick/textbook/class conversation and finding yourself in the heat of the moment. It’s very easy to find yourself in over your head before you know it. One thing all young ladies MUST know is this: It is far more difficult and painful for guys to stop than it is for us MOST of the time, so it’s important for us to help them out and not allow things to get anywhere near whatever stopping point we set for our relationships with them.

One thing that men need to understand is that women don’t separate their emotions from physical affection. For us it’s all the same. Once we’re in, we’re all in. When you touch our bodies, you touch our hearts. Non-christian women may not feel this way, but I guarantee you that christian women do.

I also agree with Ugly in that some people have more self-control than others. I think that age and experience is a huge factor in that.

I want to take a minute and let everyone who has answered here know how much I appreciate your tactfulness and respect for one another. God bless you :)

*throws popcorn at Matthew and Kooper*

The Lord leads, but on this subject, He REALLY leads. It is up to us to prayerfully go to the cross and see just how He wants us to carry out a relationship with someone we don't just like, or like, like. But, LIKE, LIKE, LIKE!!!!!! What other way would you want to do something that important, anyway. Any other way you do things with the potential to hurt others, as well as yourself, KNOW that God is closer to you than you may think :)
:D

If I'm watching a movie with a girl or having a picnic some place nice, we kiss and then she starts "Dwelling in Jesus Presence" I'm going to probably leave her there and if it happens a lot I'll probably break up with her.

To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose...

If she looks me in the eye, moves in close and then whispers, "repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." I'm going to refer her to a Psychologist.

Personally..I would say hand holding and hugging is acceptable.. I'm on the fence about kissing tho.. Like I wouldn't mind saving my first kiss til like I know for sure that the guy's the one I want to be with..but other than that..I would say no to kissing on the lips..kissing on the cheek..that would be fine.. As for cuddling..um..I would say that's fine too..but like only if there's chaperones around lol..just to be on the safe side :3

I can go as far as a light kiss. I could go further to purposely annoy other people, as long as i know that's why i'm doing it.. :D.. Or bcoz i think it's funny... I know u don't understand me.. But who does anyway *sighs*

this is a good subject. i do believe in friends first even if theres something there between two people. better way to get to know some one with out feelings directing the show. we all know what the bible says about sex and what not so with that in mind having respect for each other and if things dont work out you dont want to have those bonds with each other that could possible damage each others out looks or the way they well love there husband or wife to be one day. so to that to each there own if holding hands is far as you can go, any more and you well start to form a strong bond with some one who you are not for sure is going to be your wife or husband dont go beyond it. again if your not meant to be, you just did something or w/e with some one els future wife or husband is how i look at it.

I think holding hands is about as far as I'd be going, it's a myth that you need to test the chemistry. I'm pretty sure that if you're in love enough to get married there's nothing wrong in that department! Plus, like someone mentioned earlier going further creates unnecessary ties if it doesn't work out.

It's not a myth, it's just not a factor for some people.
There are people for whom the emotional connection is more important than physical intimacy and only a minimal amount of physical intimacy is required for them to be strong in a relationship, but there are people who directly express their love physically, we are all slightly different in this regard, for the latter type of person knowing the physical connection or the 'chemistry' is right is extremely important, and if not established before marriage can cause big problems down the line.

That is not to say anything further than cuddling/kising is justifiable because sin is sin, but some people need more and some people need less, there is no absolute standard that can be applied before the line is crossed.

Wow then you stand condemed: Repent and believe the Gospel: The Holy Spirit will come upon you and teach you all truth. In the Name of Jesus.

Hahaha totally imagining this scenario and it's cracking me up!

Love the Lord thy God with
everything we are.
We acomplish this by loving
our neighbor as ourself.
The Law=convicts us of sin
Jesus= cleanses our sin
Holy Spirit=The Holy
Father's continue Pressence
to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness. To fulfill
His promise to His son.
Jesus said if I do not go
away My Father will not
send the Comforter. So yes
1x1x1=1 As we walk in Father
God's divine Presence.
Don't get me wrong we have
to try, we have to continue
to allow GOD to transform
HIS will into ourself. Thus
we become dead to self, dead
to sin, and walking
continually in the PRESSENCE
OF THE LAMB! Amen.

So... I stand to be condemned by you for not being creepy. I think I can bear to live with that.

If we are discussing boundaries for relationships and you want to talk about the Gospel, feel free to start a new thread. No one here is going to argue with you concerning the gospel.

Refrain from rote and ritual recitations. For example, large tracts of Christianese in middle English. This isn't 1611 it is 2011.

The Gospel is the boundarie for all relations:

Love the Lord thy God with
everything we are.
We acomplish this by loving

I truly pray this is not some formula you have scoured up to try make sense of the Gospel.

Such a thing cannot be made simple where it was not intended to be made simple.

I do not wish to hijack this thread but, Loving something with my heart soul mind and strength IS FAR superior to loving something as myself.

If I believe they are the same, then I am doing a disservice to God, myself and my neighbor.

As I said before I'm not interested in deconstructing your CUT and PASTE reasoning behind what you find acceptable behavior in a courting relationship. Please do not insinuate that somehow, it is to be found within your column/ formula or else I will merely infer that you have neither experience nor inclination toward courting relationships.

I am in a relationship right now.

This is her first relationship and I have oceans of respect for her. I respect her as I would respect my own sister. Her boundaries are the boundaries I would have for my own daughter. I will do nothing with her that would jeopardize my ability to look her father in the eye. For is it out of profound reverence for our God's creation; the way it is suppose to be, that I draw my lines.

Not that I am immune to temptation but, there is a time and a place for every purpose under heaven. Patience is a virtue and a fruit of the spirit. Good things come to those who wait. They that wait on the Lord will renew their strength. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. To Christ goes all the credit for whatever good should come of this endeavor.
