Because you're used to linear thinking and can't think in a radius. Part of your job i guess. This is a worldwide thing by the way, not just US military.

- Liberals
-Conservatives

Independents are sort of nonexistent and laughed at.

I saw it happen during the Obama administration.
He switched from "don't ask don't tell" and got in our face about it by making bathroom assignments the most important thing for some reason.
Of ALL the things USA has to deal with, he thought that bathroom re-assignments were the most important thing.
So naturally Dei was born, stupidity, laziness and all the things that are associated with common sense were thrown out the window.
