I agree with Hebrews…and James says they were justified BY WORKS. So do they contradict? No, not at all. So again…what works were they justified by?
How are they already saved? Jesus said he that endure until the end the same shall be saved. Abaraham and Rahad endured until the end but me and you are still living so we gotta work for our salvation everyday like they did, until we die or until Jesus comes.
Matthew 10: 22
22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

I’m not going back!! I agree one is justified by faith and by works!! That is what James says!! But it’s not works of the law, or of our own righteousness, or of the flesh!!!

He probably thinks they were saved at the point of faith without any obedience.
Philippians 1:6...Jesus already has us covered. Do you know what eternal life is?

Abraham and Rahab were justified by faith and works. The works that justified Abraham was WHEN he offered Isaac on an altar (21-23). The works that justified Rahab was WHEN she received the messengers and sent them out the another way (v25).
Eternal life means being in the good side of the kingdom, with Christ. Philippians 1: 6 is a good scripture. I need to find out what good work Jesus began first though because that could mean his death or calling but I don't lean to my own understanding. So imma found out what that means. Have a good day.

When people had obedient faith, they were always justified—or saved—by God via the blood of Christ (Heb. 9:15; Rom. 3:24-25). You ought to tremble like the demons/devils if you have faith but disobey (Jms 2:19). Is it possible for a faith that believes in God but lacks a faith of obedience to the will of God to save? The devils tremble, but why? Although they do believe, they are disobedient. A faith devoid of submission to God will not be saved (Matt. 7:21). From what will his faith save him from (Jms 2:19)? The judgment of man? Are people of faith more concerned that we tremble at the judgment of MAN with our SOULS? The disobedient, however, should have that fear where they tremble (like the demons do), of the judgment of God (Matt. 10:28; Lk. 12:4-5; Heb. 10:31; etc etc).
In contrast, those who are in Christ and abide in Him should have no fear when it comes to our soul. (Rom. 8:38-39). James 2 is about being justified in the sight of God by having an obedient faith that submits to His will. In verses 15-17, James points out that a faith that just pays lips service but doesn’t act, is dead (v15-17). He then goes on to bring up two Old Testament examples so that we can learn what kind of faith and works justifies/saves (Gen. 22:1-12; Jos. 2:15-21; Rom. 15:4; 1 Cor. 10:11). Abraham and Rahab had a faith that was justified by works of faith/obedience to the will of God. Instead of having a heart that was far from Him (Matt. 15:8; Mk. 7:6; Is. 29:13), both Abraham and Rahab expressed how they had a heart near to Him by having a working faith. The kind of faith one needs to have is a working faith to the will of God. In contrast, a dead faith that is not centered on doing the will of God cannot and will not save.

It defines it as knowledge of GOD because if you don't know GOD you can't get no salvation. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge.
Proverbs 1: 7
7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
So how do you know GOD?
1 John 2: 3-4
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Once keep the 10 you get access to the tree of life which is Jesus.
Revelation 22: 14
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
The reason I point out what eternal life is is because while one would expect someone who is saved to obey, we were saved to know God. And once we do, we possess eternal life. If one can lose eternal life, is it really eternal?
