The problem of the statement of “never saved to begin with”

backslide! we can backslide. falling away means you are OUT of salvation! it's impossible to be out of salvation because you had to be in it 1st! by course, atheists are OUT of salvation because they were never saved at all. Christians can backslide which is draw away from God, temporarily, but not totally. the person'r heart, mind, body, soul, conscious & spirit are still in line with believing, trusting & possessing faith in God, Jesus & the H.S.

Yes, a child of God can become a prodigal son, I was 1 for 5 years.

Yes,I've seen that happen.

Inject the C word and readers prejudiced against Calvinism already will automatically assume the person charged as a Calvinist is not able to truly discuss the Gospel.

Meanwhile, the Soteriology equivalent of the Hatfield's and McCoy's feud divides the community. And educational discussion about the scriptures is left in the shadows of that conflict.

That’s what you have to say to avoid the reality. You don’t want to believe someone who is saved can depart from the faith, so you’ll simply say they were never saved, instead of being truthful, regarding if one has became a Christian scripturally.

And the “never saved in the first place” argument shows its ugly head.

OSAS: That person is a fine Christian. Devoted, faithful. I’ve been around him multiple times to know he’s “truly saved”. He’s an example of what we are to be. It’s a blessing to call him a brother.

OSAS: Sad news…that fine Christian who I was telling you about…well…turns out he has been involved in a sinful lifestyle…he was never a Christian to begin with…he just had the appearance of one…but its scary because I now wonder if I’m “truly saved” now. I have the appearance toward others as being devoted, faithful, just like the false brother who I believed was a brother and saved…but how do I know I’m not kidding myself? If I end up in sin..then that will prove I was never a Christian to begin with….that would mean all my fruit and Christian lifestyle was actually one of a false Christian? So at this very moment if I end up in sin then at this very present moment I’m a false Christian…

Except for one thing. Our Lord The Christ Jesus.
No one can come to him unless the father calls them. God would call whom he knew before the foundation of the world. Because he wrote the names of those he would call in his Lambs Book of Life before the foundation of the world. That lamb,Jesus,who was slain before the foundation of the world for the sins of the world.

And Jesus said,of all the father gives him,those whom the father called because he knew their name before the foundation of the world, he shall never cast out. No one will take them from his hand. He shall lose none.

From point of scripture when you argue someone can repudiate their salvation,they were in fact nominal Christians. Christians in name only.
Which means they were not called by God. Because Jesus loses none whom the father gives him.

The kind of faith that is said to be able to be abandoned,and salvation cast away, is actually the belief one claims they chose to hold. So,consequently being they believe holding faith is within their lower alone,they conversely insist it is within their power to renounce their faith and salvation.

They're correct.

However,that is not what God said. His is the truth. His say is what counts eternally.

The never ending loop of OSAS

OSAS: Aunt Bobbie got saved tonight! *everybody is so happy and smiles..tears of joy comes down*

OSAS: Aunt Bobbie was never saved to begin with…

OSAS: Guess what everybody! Aunt Bobbie got saved tonight! *everybody is so happy and smiles..tears of joy comes down*

OSAS: Aunt Bobbie was never saved to begin with…

OSAS: Aunt Bobbie got saved and has been faithful to the Lord. She has repented of her lifestyle. I know this time she’s “truly saved”.

OSAS: Aunt Bobbie has sadly begun living in unrepentant sin again…Aunt Bobbie was never saved in the first place…

OSAS: Hey everybody! Aunt Bobbie repented! She got saved tonight!

OSAS: No! She didn’t! She was never saved to begin with!

OSAS: Yea, she did! She got saved!

OSAS: No! She was never saved to begin with!!

And around and around we go with the endless loop of OSAS…

If someone can appear to be saved but later turn out not to be, how can anyone in OSAS be sure that anyone is truly saved?

I had a very powerful salvation experience. The part of the Song the jumped out at me fit well with my experience because the sins that i committed were very bad. I actually thought that God would not forgive me. But then the whole room filled up with what i could only describe as a mighty wind. And when it hit me i was sitting down but if i were standing it would have made me stumble.....but when that happened I felt so much shame for all that I have done. I felt the Mighty presence of God fill that room and i felt horrible. All my sins lay before me and i could not hide.......I remember that all I wanted to do was crawl under a rock and hide......this was way back in 2009 i still remember it like yesterday.........I went to say Im sorry but before the words were out of my mouth, i heard a voice say, " You do not have to say sorry anymore" and then right at that moment the feelings i had that were horrible and wanting to crawl under a rock and hide turned into the most awesome joy i have ever felt. I canl't even use words to describe what I felt. A love entered my heart that goes beyond anything i have ever felt.......Then i felt the washing away of every sin I have ever done.......I knew at the moment that this wretched sinner that i was was completelty forgive by God Almighty washed in the blood of Jesus Christ.......My experience is even more dramatic than that........I would have to write a long letter here to explain all that took place in my salvation...........So yes I know that i was filled with the Holy Spirit of God and was saved........

You and I have very very close testimonies. I would like to share mine with you somehow than on this thread. I totally believe you, and that’s awesome!
 
I think there is a difference between a Christian by title and a Christian by heart. The osas argument is based on whther one is actually saved well how does one discern the difference? and let us say this person is genuine and born again what is required assuming they can lose their salvation to keep their salvation and what would make them lose it

And then there is the scriptures that speak of salvation as a gift that we are not our own and that the blood that was shed for us that part in particular makes me wonder if it was good enough if we can lose what is given to us

Scripturally, someone who is saved may lose confidence in their faith.

God is not a man that he should lie.

And God said, he will lose none. They shall never be cast out. No one will snatch us from God's hand.
We are sealed by the holy spirit.

God details how our rebirth occurs. He never details how he will rescind in detail all that he did to save us if we choose not to be saved anymore.

remember the word "if". above, someone used the word "if". if meaning, if you could fall away! you can not fall away because God has given us eternal salvation. learn 1st John 5:13 & John 10:28! we can backslide but you can not lose salvation. what's so difficult to understand here?

The word “if” is found in many passages of scripture concerning one’s salvation or soul. With regards to John 10:28 that verse applies to those who follow Jesus in v27. Thus, if and when one follows Jesus.
