My name is Jo, and I am a new Christian (saved less than a month ago) and this is a topic that's kind of been on my mind.
I grew up atheist, and everything I learned about the world was purely based on science. Recently, I started seeing these videos saying that the Bible doesn't contradict science, but I still have some questions about it. For example, the fact that God created all the animals on Day 5 (sea-dwelling creatures and birds) and Day 6 (land animals) but there is a lot of evidence that certain species were around for millions of years before others. Also the fact that how long humans have been around for based on the Bible and science is different.
I'm just wondering what all of your thoughts are on the specific things I mentioned above as well as just the topic of the Bible vs science in general.

One of the things that you should gain better insight to as you grow in knowledge is that Satan - who currently has great influence in/on the world - has worked to "turn everything around" from what God says - to convince you that everything is the exact opposite from what it really is - a long evolutionary history instead of the short creation truth, for example.
Beware of the things you have been taught - and, the things you are yet to be taught - much/most of it are lies - because, the world is against God.
This is something you should always keep in mind.
A great deal of modern science was "made up" to "prop up" ideas like evolution.
You will have to have good discernment to be able to know what is true and what is false.
The Bible is your guide. What it says is truth. Anything that disagrees with it should be suspect. Remember this always.
The "evidence" to prove millions of years is made up and false. It is not real and does not hold up to scrutiny at all.
Study the Genesis creation account very carefully to understand the real truth about our world, its age, etc.
Pay close attention to the order that God created everything. There is much that can be learned from that.

(It is just another one of the lies that is told to us.)
The Bible tells us our history from the very beginning.
We may not have every-last-detail of our history written down somewhere - but - in the Bible, we have a true record of the beginning and much of what has occurred after that - enough to give us a clear understanding that much of modern science is false.
Or, perhaps, using a much more 'innocent' anecdotal statement to make your point?

You should never stop learning and questioning as that will make you a stronger person.
Science cannot contradict God - just need to clarify if something is a 'Theory' which means opinion or an assumption and 'fact' which there is no doubt.
Having said that the bible was not written in a scientific way, for example - Genesis 1:16 says “And God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night.” - Today, science tells us that the moon does not have its own light.
Who says that the moon does not have its own light? How could they possibly measure that? Its like when scientists say the moon is a billion degrees hot or cold, yet had no problem doing the moon landing. How could you possibly measure temperatures from this far off? Its completely guess work and religion.
The moon reflecting the sun's light can serve as representing saints reflecting the Son's light.
There are certain things that are fact and others assumptions / theories etc... The bible does have some inconsistences but the intention may be metaphorical. Such as a Q I have just seen on another site

Hi Jo. Let me try to help. There are 3 world ages. The first one perished in a worldwide flood, II Pet 3:6-7, due to Lucifer's rebellion, Isa 14:12-16. We are now living in the second world age of grace and salvation and the third world age is yet to come after the White Throne Judgment, Rev 21:1. The first world age is millions of years old and there were plants and animals that perished in that flood. You find their fossils to this day, such as dinosaurs. Man was not made in a flesh body at that time which is why you won't find any remains of them past 14,000 yrs old. They were in spiritual bodies at that time. They found a jawbone of an ape and made it out to be a Neanderthal man which is false.
Genesis tells how God brought the planet back to life after the destruction of the first world age and created new plants and animals and also made man in flesh bodies. Through grace, God sent his son to provide salvation to all that had sinned in the first world age and this one, John 3:16. You must study God's word, have faith in God and believe the gospel to obtain this salvation. At the end of this second world age, all will stand before the Judgment seat of God. If you loved the Lord you will enter into the eternal third world age. If you rebelled against God and followed Satan, you will have your place in the lake of fire. After the White Throne Judgment, we enter into the third and final world age with God living among us. May God give you eyes to see.
