But what is something that the Bible does not say nor can it ever say is what YOU should personally do in regards to your marriage life, to your job, where you should live, where God has called you to be. The reason the Bible cannot tell you these things is because there is no set answer, because not everyone is called to the same thing.
The Bible tells you all these things. The things the Bible doesn't tell should be your applications of what the Bible does tell you. Holy Spirt led applications of what the Bible tells you are your applications, not God's word.

Which book, chapter and verse tells me if I should marry, who I should marry, where I should move, should I stay put? What job should I work? Should I remain a police officer or become a firefighter instead? Maybe a pastor? Has God called me to work at LIDL as a cashier? Maybe I should become a missionary? Maybe I should move to Greenland?

The Bible doesnt tell you mate. Because what is my calling isnt your calling. What is your calling isnt my calling

We all walk out God's will in our own lives

I am whatever he needs me to be at any given time, I have been told I am a prophet but I don't consider myself to be worthy. I may walk in the gift of prophecy but that doesn't make me a prophet

Okay, hard to argue with that. So, considering your original question: What makes a prophet? If someone who walks in the gift of prophecy isn't a prophet, who is?

I consider my gift to be editing and harmonizing biblical prophecy/teaching by applying "both-and" logic.

What do you consider to be your gift?

in my opinion it is one who is in constant deep meditation with God and knows his voice extremely well and strenghtens encourages and builds up other believers always guiding them closer to God. they may get prophecies or visions or dreams but to me that is not the main role of a prophet. by definition they interpret the will of God and lead his church to his heart

That sounds more like a teacher to me.

In this age I understand a prophet to understand the true meaning of the scriptures according to your gift of the Spirit. Visions and dreams may not be a part of being a prophet.

A teacher can do this as well but they aren't the mouth piece of God, a teacher can be in error in what they say but a prophet is held far more accountable. plus a teacher instructs the church prophet interprets God's will

The Lord can touch Christians in many different ways but that doesnt make one a prophet. A personal testimony in my life the Lord woke me up twice to give me a personal message concerning a prayer request. I had no doubt who was speaking to me for you will know his voice with great authority. My answer was always by scripture.

as humns we are limited, and therefore we misunderstand, and cannot put the same things the same way.
I myself have an idea, but it is not quite formed.

Teachers are also the mouthpiece of God when they teach according to the Spirit; and they also interpret God's will when they interpret the scriptures correctly.

Teachers are also held to a high standard: "My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment." James 3:1 Teachers and prophets can both be in error and speak falsely.

From what I can tell, your idea of a prophet is someone who gets direct revelations from God. Maybe there are such people; but if so, their revelations are only as good as the scriptures they have to back them up. Your original post identifies the root problem of direct revelation: how to know whose revelations to believe and whose to disregard. That's why God gave us His word so we could easily discern what is true and what is false.

Many of us struggle even when we are saved but we must remember we are forgiven. Satan likes us to remember things which disturbs us but we must move on.

I remember doing an evil act I knew was wrong and i felt the whole weight of the Sprit upon me. The act had consequences that bother me at times in remembrance for I was a stubborn man.

Be strong and of good courage

None of us are worthy; but we're made worthy by the grace of Christ.

Well what would be your idea of what a prophet is?

Oh but God has told me. Many times He has led me to X Y and Z. :)
I just went out to have a smoke and asked God what does actually make a prophet and the word clarvoince came to mind. I didn't know what that word meant so I looked it up and says

  1. the supposed faculty of perceiving things or events in the future or beyond normal sensory contact.

I believe there were prophets in the early days of the ekklesia. I believe they communicated the will of God in a supernatural way. However, with the completed canon of scripture there is no longer a need for supernatural revelation; this has been replace by teaching. I'm not saying the gift has been done away and will never return; we will probably see true prophets during the tribulation. But the office itself is no longer needed so there are no longer prophets in the true sense. In other words, there are no true and false prophets because there are no prophets, period. Anyone claiming to be a prophet is either lying or deluded, in my opinion.
