Why do you speak with such authority on Europe when you were born in a French-speaking section of the USA?
I don't speak with such authority despite being born in the Mediterranean region.

Here's a summary of Europe on how i understand it.
Europe has been on vacation since world war 2 after the whole continent was destroyed.
Since then, everyone said "wars and guns are bad. Let's all sing kumbaya and let USA, Russia and China take the baton of the empires. We're on vacation now. "
Europe was done being all gun-ho and excited about wars. That's your job now. To be excited about wars and guns.

Trump is now playing them like a fiddle: "Guys, we're going on vacation too. Take care of yourselves and if you need anything, i'll give you a good price"
Bye-bye.
Big words from a guy who has been talking with such great authority about Trump and his great statesmanship.

The truth is slowly sinking in, even in Texas. Trump and his politburo are running America like a commie state.

United Auto Workers union praises Trump’s tariffs on Canada and Mexico
By Ronny Reyes
Published March 4, 2025

The United Auto Workers (UAW) union praised President Trump’s new tariffs on Tuesday, claiming it’s necessary for America to “end the free trade disaster.”

The union, with more than 1 million members, touted Trump’s decision to place a new round of 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico, where America imports tens of billions of dollars worth of cars and parts every year.

“Tariffs are a powerful tool in the toolbox for undoing the injustice of anti-worker trade deals,” the union said in a statement.

Made in America: Trump Racks Up $3 Trillion of Investments in US Economy

For President Donald Trump, the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.’s $100 billion investment in U.S. chip manufacturing represented “a tremendous leap—like, a leap that nobody would have really said was possible.”
But TSMC’s $100 billion is just a small part of the at least $3 trillion in investments and trade commitments the Trump administration has racked up in just six weeks since Inauguration Day.
The $3 trillion of investment and trade commitments with the United States involve key allies, such as India and Japan, and major players in the private sector—Apple and Oracle, to name just two. These arrangements also cover critical industries beyond chip manufacturing, from pharmaceuticals to automobiles to artificial intelligence.

And slowly is a really good way to describe it too. On the plus side though I saw in our Texas news today that these workers are going to get a raise from 10.60 an hour to 12.00 so I guess after having Bush,jr. then Perry then Abbott as governor's in Texas things are really beginning to pay off for us right? That's why Trump likes Abbott so much I guess Texas is a perfect model of what a half a lifetime of unbroken Republican leadership can do. https://www.keranews.org/health-wel...ough-to-keep-texas-disability-services-afloat

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is going to want to know Ukraine Is secure and that Russia won’t break a cease fire agreement before signing a minerals deal with the United States but IMO that would mean that Donald Trump would have to warn Vladimir Putin and I don’t think Donald Trump would do that so I don’t think this deal will happen with only a “trust me” or “believe me” from Donald Trump saying that Vladimir Putin will not attack Ukraine again but Donald Trump will have to sign something where his signature is on the dotted line there and IMO Donald Trump won’t do that being afraid to offend Vladimir Putin.

Watching the Trump joint address to both houses of Congress.

Just a little while before the address, Trump said Ukraine president sent President Trump a letter. He's ready to meet at the negotiation table and sign a deal.

It's all about the price of eggs. The hat says make America great again, which insinuates it's no longer considered great in our eyes. It either will be again or not but if not all the kings horses and all the kings men wont be able to put the egg back together again.

Sure is a massive raise.🙁

Now, I get it why the Democrats are struggling. They haven’t been addressing the real problems of society in forever. When a populist politician and demagogue like Trump comes along we are an easy prey. It’s gonna be so great, he says, and we’re like teenage girls at a boy band concert all cheering, knees soft like jelly and his name on our foreheads.

It's hard to say I guess. For like half my life there's never been anything in Texas but the Republicans to even compare it to. When I was young There was Democrats but I think things were real expensive back then because I would ask my mom for a candy bar every time we went to the store but she almost always said no. Maybe two times out of every ten I could get one so they must have been a hundred bucks a bar back then. On a serious note though I listened real close to hear what got said about eggs and hamburger meat, rent and stuff like the utilities but I must have missed all that part. I sure hope those people can pay their rent and still buy all that stuff on 12.00 an hour.

I didn’t hear about it either. I guess it’s not that important in his world. Looks like he’s all about blue collar only in elections.

This is where I go in circular arguments with myself trying to sort it out. I think it's perfectly reasonable for Zelensky to want security agreements prior to signing a minerals deal especially since the world didn't do anything in 2014 when Russia invaded... however, this would make us all-in in WWIII if/when Russia breaks the agreement. With a signed deal, however, Russia would know that there are American interests in Ukraine and ought to act as a deterrent... but maybe it's not that big of a deterrent if Russia promises us that we can keep the mineral deal while they take some other section of Ukraine. The American people should get a return on their investment after giving hundreds of billions of dollars to aid/arm Ukraine. Europe gives/is giving Ukraine loans, so it's not the same thing as what we have been doing. Too many angles to look at this from... I just have to remind myself that God is sovereign, and things will play out in His will.

Ukraine does not really have an abundance of earth minerals.

Nor was it hundreds of billions of dollars spent (350 billion) that is a lie by Trump, the amount for appropriation as of January 2025 was 174. 2 billion, the amount dispersed is about 85 billion.

This is the USA trying to exit a problem they created and still look strong and demanding.
