Oh my! You knew Chuck? I listened to him almost every day at work when I went for my walks. I agree with him 95%. Too bad he was a pre-tribber. He and I worked in the same field, software engineering, for the DoD, for many years, so we had that in common. He was a super smart guy!

The flood date is actually around 3000BC if you use the LXX begetting age dates in Gen 5 & 11 to determine the timeline, which I figured the creation date to be around 5554BC. Most English translations of the OT were translated from Greek to Hebrew by the Masorete Jewish scribes to create the Masoretic Text or MT between the 5th and 10 centuries AD. They deliberately changed these ages to throw off the Biblical timeline by about 1250 years. I spent over two years creating a timeline chart based on the LXX begetting ages. Given all this research, I trust the LXX over the MT. Even the dead sea scrolls line up closer to the LXX than the MT.

Ok, now I know why we disagree

Do you notice something strange about Genesis 5?

Yes! However, the Flood actually occurred between 3000-3600BC.

Also, the meaning of the names from Adam to Noah in Hebrew strung together, provide the Gospel message.
- Adam means "man"
- Seth means "appointed"
- Enosh means "mortal"
- Kenan means "sorrow"
- Mahalalel means "the Blessed God"
- Jared means "shall come down"
- Enoch means "teaching"
- Methuselah means "His death shall bring"
- Lamech means "the despairing"
- Noah means "rest".

String together is the Gospel message:
"Man was appointed moral sorrow (because Adam and Eve sinned). But the Blessed God (Jesus) shall come down (to earth) teaching that his death shall bring the despairing (sinners) rest (through salvation)." What an Amazing God we serve!
Yes i got that teaching from Chuck also, ment him several times at church at the prophecy conferences.
His passing was such a shock to me.
Glad to see this post in proving a young earth.

By the way, I learned from reading a book by Chuck Missler. Not sure if he figured this out on his own or not, but another follower told me that he knew Chuck personally and that he did discover this himself. Pretty amazing indeed!

I am interested if you could share where you think we are on god's timetable

Well, if you read Rev 6, Jesus provides us with a blow-by-blow account of major events that will happen as He opens each of the seven seals. First major event that the entire world will notice is described Rev 6:3-4, international warfare. We've had two world wars, but these wars didn't really include the entire world. This one will.

Yes I agree but my question is do you think we are near the 6000 years or some other number?

The primary source for the theory that the world will end 6000 years after creation comes from the Jewish Talmud, not the Scriptures. Besides, from everything I've learned about the changes made to the Scriptures by the Masorete Jewish scribes when they translated the OT Greek to Hebrew and changed the begetting ages in Gen 5 & 11, which changed the Bible timeline by over 1250 years, we've already passed the 6000-year mark since creation. If creation was in 5554BC, plus the current year 2025, that's 7579 years since creation. So, the 6000-year theory is no longer valid.
