I would honestly have to say all of them. Even Leviticus which is admittedly a bit laborious to read through.
Because they all contain the word of God. In different ways, they are all necessary to perfect or mature us in Christ and unto every good work.
I am not sure that I understand the question. I have met many people who are bothered by what they call "the God of the Old Testament," but I recognize him as the God of the New Testament as well. I find the Bible to be a true account of what people are like, whether saved or unsaved, and a true account of what this world is like as well. That, in a sense, bothers me because the Bible accurately describes the evil that is all around us and the eventual punishment for it if it is not truly repented of. Grieves me or troubles me would probably be better words to describe how I feel than bothers me.
Honestly, I do not have any. On rare occasions, I will look at other people's commentaries, but I normally find them to be off-base. Generally speaking, I rely either on the Holy Ghost or upon other verses of scripture to clear up my confusion. I do believe that the Bible is its own best interpreter, and I also believe that the Holy Ghost is the world's best teacher. I also presently have some unanswered questions that I pray to God about. Personally, I have come to understand that it is not about knowing everything, but about obeying that which I already do know. That keeps me plenty busy.
I believe that everyone can be adequately equipped if they avail themselves of the Holy Ghost. He inspired the writing of the scriptures, and he was sent to teach us what they mean. Of course, there are other variables to consider as well. Things like word meanings which have changed over the years, the intended audience in a Bible passage, and other things which could basically be described as context.
i'll answer your 2nd question. yes, the same thing that millions of Christians don't like which is sometimes God chooses not to heal someone even though some people ask for healing for decades.
If asking doesn't 'get it,' it makes me wonder if just asking is all that is asked of us to do.
This healing topic has been bothering me for a couple of weeks now since what I took as an axiom entered my like some new revelation recently. However, it only started as an abstract "seed" and has yet to fully form into any sort of concrete expression of it, so I'm currently at a loss as to presenting it as the whole truth. I only know that has everything to do with the stripes Jesus received by which we are healed. And, if I find that I've recalled correctly, that was one short of forty, then that leads me to a consideration of the purpose of stopping one short of the number which is known as representative of the number of judgment. This seemingly 'trivial' detail can't be of any degree of a minor significance. I'm inclined to think that He took the entirety of our judgment but held that last 'final' one back...for Himself to dole out...but we do all know for certain that will be exercised, judgment, upon the unbelieving.

1, Psalms because I can relate to David.
2. Not anymore. Used to but now can accept by doing what Mary did " she hid the words in her heart..."
She knew the words from Jesus in the Jersulam temple were true but didn't understand. She waited for understanding to come.
3. Strongs concordence, varies commentaries, different translations even though the KJV and the NKJV are my go to translations.

hi tall timbers. my question is, amicably: "you are not bothered by the fact that God will not heal everyone who needs physical healing on earth? i haven't met anyone yet who is not bothered by that fact. thank you for your response.
Well I don't know so much about that... Depends on your definition of need.
For a long time I have prayed that I will always have what I need to do what I need to do. If I lose an arm, I pray that I will not need it anymore. If I lose my sight I pray that I will be able to do what I need to do without it. If I die tomorrow, I pray that I will have done all that I need to do while I am here.
I remember this dear sweet old lady who used to be a member of my church. She got cancer in her head, and you could watch it literally eating up her face. God never did miraculously heal her. But she didn't count living longer to be one of the things she needed. She remained upbeat and cheerful - not the fake kind when people are enduring trials but trying to put a good face on it - the real kind of upbeat and cheerful, for as long as I knew her.
My favorite book is Ecclesiastes. It sums up beautifully why many people are so depressed these days.

No I'm not bothered in the least. And I'm not bothered by anything in the Word of God. You see, we are created beings with pea brains. God is so far above us that it is easy to know that he knows best.
so, if the person you loved the most needed physical healing, you don't carer if said person is healed. what about when a lot of pain is involved & you are witnessing this day after day?
Lynx, "need" obviously meaning someone NEEDS healing where there's a lot of pain & mental hurt. don't make it to difficult.

I've already answered the question, @Karlon. There are no ifs or buts to my reponse. It's okay if you feel differently or can't accept my answer, but I don't want to keep answering the same question over and over. Give it to God. God is love and knows way better than us... way, way better.
Isaiah and Psalms r my favourite books , nope , there's nothing that bothers me , I don't us any study resources and only did once , when I first started to read the Bible ( 30years ago ) I bought a new testament commentary . It was dire . I'd only been reading the Bible for a few weeks and this commentary was so dumb , no insight at all . Yes I feel adaquetly equipped . I've read the Bible every single day for the last 30 years . As long as I have it and some light and my eyes and brain I'm gonna b ok

Yes it can be harder in some ways to deal with a loved one's pain than with your own.
But anything God has done for us is already massively unfair in our favor. Healing somebody is only shifting the balance even further in our favor.
God cannot be fair because he has already been so unfair in our favor. Believe me, you don't want fair. If God was scrupulously fair he would not do anything for us and we would all go to hell.
Complaining because God heals one person and does not heal another is like complaining that Mom gave my brother more candy than she gave me. It's already way unfair in favor of both me and my brother, because neither of us paid for the candy.
God never uses the "fair" or "deserving" basis with us as we do with ourselves. it's always grace. but when it comes down to this issue, to the very core of it, i believe at one point or another, all Christians will feel sad, unhappy or not pleasant is some way that a person is in pain very much but never received healing.
Don't know about "Favorites" but I like the Epistles for practical information.
The WORD OF GOD has the ability to "Bother me wherever it's found. I'm a Non-Systematic Eclectic, so I don't have to fit somebody else's "Theological opinions", of adjust the Scriptures to conform to some "Systemof interpretation.
The best resource I've found is "Blue Letter Bible".it's free and has many different versions, a lixicon, and commentaries.
I'm completely adequate to understand what the Bible says, and I KNOW the voice of the SPirit, which is all that's necessary.
