Now the IRS will be sharing information with ICE to help round up "illegals." I wonder how this is going to sit with Donald's followers who are already paranoid about government spying. Today they go after "illegals"; tomorrow it may be you or me. And why are so many people who are living here legally and peacefully getting deported? I thought the Donald said it was only about getting the dangerous illegal criminals out. One would almost be tempted to suspect he was lying.

Reading the past 10 pages or so of this thread on the Canadian woman held for 12 days, I thought this article she wrote was important to post.

Couple comments:

!. I fully support the MAGA movement. People that break our law by coming here illegally MUST be detained and deported. Those overstaying visas need to be dealt with on a case by case basis, in a timely manner, with compassion for honest mistakes.

2. INDIVIDUAL rights are more important than Group rights or objectives.

3. Uncomfortable detention for criminal (aside from illegal entry itself) illegal aliens is fine and dandy. Others need to have some level of decent food and housing until deportation.

4. ELIMINATE, or greatly regulate PRIVATE Prisons that have HUGE incentives to delay release, or deportation that lowers their headcounts, and subsequent State and Federal money to keep people there.

5. This article is almost exclusively from the woman's perspective, but it's hard not to be angry with what she went through, and empathetic towards those INDIVIDUALS caught up in this bureaucracy. Even those that purposefully entered illegally.

With the population in decline the USA needs the workers, as well they are not all criminals like is often argued.

I just do not think the people who came under a previous administration's policy should be made to suffer because of a new administration.
The entire lack of attention to details by this new administration is not very good.

The USA is just trying to seem powerful on the world stage, they have abandoned diplomacy everywhere.
Canadians are horrible people to negotiate with, who believes that nonsense.

We shall see if this "carry a big stick" only policy works.

I don’t think politics has anything to do with where your family is from. It’s what your core beliefs are. In favor of abortion not in favor of abortion. In favor of illegal gangs coming into the country and dealing fentanyl, killing tons of Americans we love vs not allowing them into the country to begin with
