There is a difference between believing "mental assent" that "there is one God" (James 2:19) and believing in/on the Lord Jesus Christ and being saved. (Acts 16:31) The demons believe the former but not the latter. Just like there is a difference between believing "mental assent" that the death, burial and resurrection of Christ "happened" and believing in/trusting in the death, burial and resurrection as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation. (Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4) The demons believe the former but not the latter.
And the source of which is the individual entity, and not God.

Agree, but would add it's also consisting of local, autonomous, congregations with local leadership, i.e; elders, and workers, i.e., decons, and ministers or preachers of the word, and is the body of Christ.
Yes, "church" may refer both to a local body of believers (Gal.1:2, Heb.10:25) and to the whole spiritual body of Christ (Col.1:18).

Yes, "church" may refer both to a local body of believers (Gal.1:2, Heb.10:25) and to the whole spiritual body of Christ (Col.1:18).
So.... looking at the Col 1:18...

'The dog'

Is that one universal dog?

'The horse'

Is that one universal horse?

'The wife'

Is that one universal wife?

Col 1:18...This is English grammar of singular standing for plural..where 'the church' is referring to the local church unit in general..not specific to one church.

Going to 1 Corinthians 12:

The body is described in terms of unity, togetherness, where one member suffers all suffer with it..etc..

With the same kind of unity language described in Ephesians.

That's describing the local church. 'Ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular '... Paul is saying the church at Corinth is the body of Christ.

Yes, and that all believers are part of the body/church of Christ in Col.1:18 and 1Cor.12:13, etc..

You tell me where they come from! Satan is "transformed into an angel of light". What prophecy? What's been prophecied and did it come true? How about gifts of healing? Do people's broken legs get mended visibly in front of your eyes when a so-called healer touched the person? The tongues were a sign yo unbelievers and spoken in earthly tongues according to scripture; is that what you mean? Or is it a bunch of incoherent, undiscernable babbling during a "church" service when the whole group is babbling outloud at the same time? So, you tell me!
You do not get out much, do you. You do not know what prophecy is. Amazing miracles of healing take place continually. The dead have been raised. As John Wesley observed, it is doubt and unbelief that quenches the Holy Spirit, so limiting the power of God.

The fact that there are false manifestations does not mean that there are no true manifestations. Sure, it is not right to have everyone speaking in tongues in a meeting. I've pulled out of places where that was normal practice. The so-called Toronto Blessing and similar "signs" are an abomination. Jesus warned us that such things would happen. And yes, the elect can be deceived.

I have many testimonies of fulfilled prophecies that seemed impossible at the time. Just one:

We were led to start a Bible school. My wife said that the Lord had shown her where we were to be. It was a run down building but was being refurbished. It had been converted into studios for artists. There was no way that we could lease a space. We were told by the letting agent that there was caveat on the property. The owner had specifically stated that it was for artists only.

That was enough for me. I looked elsewhere. My wife said no, we were promised that site. So we kept in touch with the management of the building. One day, I went there to inquire again. The people told me that they had been evicted. The building had been sold and was to be demolished. The owner had died and the family wanted to sell.

I discovered that the site was owned by an accounting firm. It "just so happened" that I had used the accountants for years to do my taxes. We were able to secure first right of refusal even before the building was completed.

We were there for two years, the length of time that my wife saw in the Spirit. There is no such thing as coincidence.

That is an amazing testimony!!! Thank you so much for sharing it!

So much gets done and in the most amazing ways when we believe God fully and not hinder Him with any disbelief on our part!!!

Looking just from the bible, there are key things a church is and isn't .

Is.... an assembly of baptised believers, with Jesus as the Head. Covenants together to carry out the Great commission and commandment.

Isn't ...the building this group would meet at.

Is... assembled

Isn't .. unassembled

Is ... visible

Isn't .. invisible

Is... of saved and baptised members

Isn't ...of unsaved people (they would be visitors..not members)

Is... a place to worship Jesus

Isn't ... a social club

What do you say?
What does this question have to do with Easter?

What does this question have to do with Easter?
Why should it have a direct connection to Easter? The thread if entitled, "What is a Church?" Now of course, without the resurrection, there would be no Christianity, (1 Corinthians 15), and thus no church, but that surely doesn't mean that every discussion on Christian Chat must be directly connected to the resurrection of the Saviour.

Examples of prophecy and what was prophesied? Miracles, done by the hands of men?

On Easter the connection of all questions with the Easter answer should be realized/observed.

Check out Derek Prince. He's famous, I'm not. maybe you will believe him.
I don't need Derek whomever. I believe the Word of God which is clear. Gifts have ended and are no longer necessary. Apostles are dead and Gifts cannot be enabled as a result thereof. That's very clear by scripture irrespective of what anyone says including Derek or you. Believe what you like.

You mean the gifts of tongues, prophecy and knowledge?

Because there are several others that remain.

All those listed in 1 Corinthians 12:8-10, all of which were enabled by the laying on of the apostle's hands
I've been sure of the sign gifts ceasing.. but not sure about ministry gifts ceasing. I used to see Ephesians 4 as support for ministry gifts ceasing bit now am questioning that.

I don't know what you mean by "ministry gifts", but if it falls into the category of 1corinthians 12:8-10, it ain't happening. No man has power from God today to do by his own doing, anything of a miraculous nature. There are strange, unexplainable things done all the time by virtue of the devil, like those done in voodoo, but not of God.

They wouldn't fall into the 1 co 12:8-10 category. The others I mean are more like helps, administration, evangelism, teaching, discernment. Some listed further in 1 co 12.
