False doctrines are a lie
Believing a lie is sin.
2Th 2:10-13

Totally agree , I was saying that nice they reject the gospel whatever they end up believing to be true , is a lie.

If you think about it since Eden the only way Satan can do anything to mankind is if he can convince them that what God said is true and will be …..isn’t true but what he’s saying is actually true so we should listen instead to him
This is what led mankind astray and still does today satan really is the first spreader of false doctrine about the fruit , the object of life or death . Same thing with the gospel it’s life to believers and damnation to those who reject it . But my point is Satan o my has one way to attack a person and the field of battle is Gods word and what he actually said about life and death like this
“And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”
Genesis 2:15-17 KJV
If they simply believe God and live according to that belief he’s given them they will live in Eden with him having free access to the tree of life in the garden where God placed them with himself.
But if I’m an enemy and want to kill man , I now know how to do it , if I can get them to believe the fruit won’t harm then but God is actually just keeping it from them because he doesn’t want them to become like gods ….then they will eat the fruit because I changed thier belief of what is true from Gods word “ you’ll surely die “ to this word whoch claims ( without saying it ) God lied to you it wont harm you it will make you wise “

If they would have believed what god said , the truth about the fruit , they would have lived among and freely eating from the tree of life in Eden but the truth is mankind operates and acts upon what it is we truly do believe in our hearts .

Its the first false doctrine that pulled man away from the true tree of life that’s always been before us

abut then for a time we became wicked and blinded by the corruption of our hearts and wouldn’t hear but now the gospel has come the tree of lasting life for those already condemned to die because we sinned as they did in Eden. Now we have his word of life again offered freely to all he’s told us again how to live together with him forever but will we hear it and believe ?
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
John 5:24
Powerful in man’s heart to change our root issues that cause us to sin

I believe this is more about knowing when to stop a doctrinal argument, rather than who is doctrinally in the wrong. If we can't agree on simple Scriptures, then what's the point of continuing to argue about them?
If quoting Scripture corrects us, then it's a good use of Scripture. But if not, then it's a bad use of the sword to keep hacking away at one another.

So I think we can all agree that false doctrine is bad but what evidence is there to suggest that a believer in Christ cannot follow false doctrine? and for that matter what evidence is there to suggest that the scriptures cannot be misinterpreted therefore incorrect doctrine?
The thing is we all follow false doctrine to a degree because this is an ongoing learning experience with God only he has all the correct doctrine the full truth
I am sure I believe false doctrine even now but that is because I am human and still learning it is ok to be willing to accept that one may be incorrect in the doctrine they follow that allows for room to grow it is when one believes they have all the correct doctrine that they no longer have room to grow

The judgment on heresy depends on two major factors; pernicion and obstinacy. All heresy is indeed bad because it is a lie essentially, but not all heresy neccessarily means you will end up in the eternal flame.
Pernicion is the destructiveness of the heresy. The highest degree of pernicion of a heresy is to undermine or oppose the trinity doctrine or the Gospel of Jesus (conception to the virgin Mary, birth, life and minsitry as recorded in the four canon Gospels, crucifixion, resurrection, ascenscion and session, and promise to come again at the end of the world. ) Any heresy of this degree of pernicion is automatically a damnation sentence because it puts you firmly outside of the religion of Christianity since they are direct attacks on God basically. Heresies of a lesser pernicion are errors still, but because they're lies and errors more about the creation or politics or the secular forms of the religion, like for example evolution or feminism, but they're not damnable in and of themselves since they're not really an attack on God himself but are rather an error about the earthly things. Mindful that's not like an endorsement or excuse really for minor heresies because just by virtue an error leads to more errors that will accumulate, but the severity of the heresy is merely of a lesser pernicion compared to say something like denying Jesus crucifixion or the existence of the Father. In a sense the scaling of pernicion and the tier of the damnable heresies (literally the heresies that will get you damned with certainty), is more like throwing yourself into the lake of fire because you're essentially refusing your only hope of salvation whom is Jesus.

One can be basically guaranteed damnation if they are very obstinate of heart but only hold to a few lesser heresies or sins. They might have even been born into a family of it, it might be pervasive of their culture, there's many reasons they might be obstiante but the overall point is they just stick with it out of obstinacy. This is where the willfulness part of the OP title and post comes in really for a certainty an utterly stubborn heretic or pagan stands in pretty stark jeopardy of the hellfire even though in theory it be easy for them to avoid it and they might not even be the most wicked of people, but their stubborness plods them on with a self-determination to go to the fire. By comparison one could in theory believe in a high pernicion damnable heresy even start life as a total pagan even, but they might have a low degree of obstinacy, and since they're not very obstinate of heart, maybe all it takes is for them to hear the Gospel or learn about Jesus for the first time or consider a different messenger to come to the truth and thus essentially since they're not very obstinate or stubborn they could easily discard even a very severe heresy and accept the truth and be guaranteed to be spared from hellfire and attain eternal salvation through the one and only way, the Lord Jesus.
