It is ok I am lonely too your not alone, I don't know why this longing is so deep within me but I understand your feelings and your not alone
I think it's how we know we definitely don't have the gift of singleness! :p

Jokes aside, Proverbs 13:12 says Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.
The longing is so deep because most people are called to marriage and when it takes longer than we hope for we get heart sick.

Does anyone else ever think this reads a bit weird?

Genesis 2:18 The LORD God also said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make for him
a suitable helper.” 19And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every
bird of the air, and He brought them to the man to see what he would name each one. And whatever
the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20The man gave names to all the livestock,
to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.
The weirder part is when Adam searches among all creation trying to find and mate and cannot find one, and then God puts him to sleep and makes Eve from his rib.

Adam = I'm lonely
God = what do you think of these? *creates all other living creatures and parades them before Adam*
Adam = I dunno... that orangutan looks a little cute, but it's still not quite right...
God = hang on a sec, let me put you to sleep for a moment here...

Something to remember, Adam in Paradise, walking with God was lonely and looking for a mate, and God made Him Eve. Even walking with God and not yet tainted by Sin, our ancestors wanted a Help Mate. And that is normal. :)
This makes my dislikeness for the statement I am married to Jesus Valid. Many use this statement to down play a singles need for marriage or to guilt trip them for longing for spouses. I am just a tiny cell of Jesus' bride (the church)

People misinterpret when Jesus says "there is no marriage in Heaven." Yeah, well we are gonna be on the New Earth so.. :)

I really liked what you said here. I would also assume that being married yall must pick and choose your battles. Some people feel every issue must be addressed in a serious manner and/or are quick to take offense. That can put unnecessary strain on relationships. Slow to anger and quick to forgive is easier said than done, but vital nevertheless.

I hope you show hubby your message. :giggle:
Having the same sense of humour is a big plus in any relationship 😆

I have a non biblical belief that we will have families in the New Earth. If God intended procreation in the first paradise, why not the second? I mean there is plenty of room.
I have never heard of something so extra Biblical yet so funny. Will we go with our families or we get to make new ones?

Yeah the longing definitely has that meaning on it. Our Lord would not let it be so if he wanted us single.

That is the problem, do you get to be with who you married on Earth or perhaps find a new spouse?

I mean we gotta be sure Joan of Arc and Sir Galahad who found the Holy Grail probably would end up together. :D

Psalm 102 verses 25-26, Isaiah 65 verse 17, Revelation 21 verse 5a, Isaiah 43 verse 18 ~ In the beginning You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing You will change them, and they will be passed on. For I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. And the One seated on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” Do not call to mind the former things; pay no attention to the things of old.

I just find the notion of now romantic life and families in the New Heaven and New Earth implausible. Why would God limit that happiness and stop procreation when sin no longer has any sway over anything? I mean, what about people who looked for love all their lives and never found it?
