If anyone here has had basic instructions on how to save a drowning person, then you know this-

It is incredibly difficult to save someone who is struggling and resisting. They will try to pull you under.

Sure, Jesus has incredible amounts of power, but we really need to ask ourselves if we're struggling and resisting too much to be saved. If we're looking for loopholes or ways to cut corners or justify what we know deep down is something wrong, then how can we be saved?

You better believe we are drowning in this world. This world is evil, our hearts are evil, we are wicked and cannot be left to our own devices. Asking questions like 'is it REALLY such a sin to do ______' is basically saying 'I don't want to stop doing this thing I know is wrong. Are there any other lost Christians out there who are willing to enable my sins?'

Yes, there are. There are lots of them. You will always be able to find someone (even a professing Christian) that will help you justify your bad behavior. Afterall, they don't want to give it up either.

Just because you have found others that will tell you 'naaaaw it's not so bad!' the one person you should have consulted in the first place hasn't changed His mind on the matter. His standards are high... impossibly high. That's not an excuse to stop trying.

You know leelee;

Somehow I get the feeling you already know the answer to that question. Non e of us really have to tell you. If you have the Holy Spirit yourself, He will convict you accordingly. But you don't like the answer, do you?!.... I'm sure going out with your friends is fun; Fun is over-rated though; especially if it interferes with the peace of God...

God bless you.

Having spent a few days on here I have noticed that others have much more(for want of a better word) extreme views on things than mine. So I wanted to pose a question.....what do you think about going out clubbing? Having a dance and a drink etc
Never been to a club before. So, it's kinda hard to place thought on this subject. But if anything: I say take a shot. If not then awesome... But if you wanna be "jolly" and grind all over the dance floor, no one can stop you from making that choice... I just hope the right choice is made from those who also have a similar question about it.

1. stick to what you know and there will be no accident.
2. Jesus is always with me. I haven't yet needed to bump into him cuz he hasn't left me.
In Pride and Prejudice, Mr. Darcy said something to Lizzy about 'willfully misunderstanding' people. I think that's what you've done with what I said. That's fine.

Regardless of Jesus being with you all the time, or with anyone for that matter, there's a reason that people began to ask themselves, What would Jesus do? But then you've already covered that base in your mind, because you said that Jesus would join you in dancing.

My question is, why does your dancing HAVE to take place in a club where there is all number of un-Godly things going on all around you? If you can't have fun dancing anywhere else BUT a club or bar, then I would take a closer look at what it REALLY is that you go to those places for.

leelee, if you like to dance, or you want to dance, GO TO THE CHURCH. Pick up your dancing shoes and DANCE FOR GOD.. I think i'm totally awed that even some Christians advice her to go to the club.. *It's not wrong as long as you're not going too far, and you're keeping your body*. bla bla bla.. All nonsense. I'm sure Solomon felt the same way when he was getting married to all the foreign wives and bringing in their gods. *It's not wrong, as long as i'm still concentrated on God and not worship their own gods*.. What happened at the end?. I don't need to tell you!..

Moreover all the stupid, idiotic songs about sex and whatever they play in the club are not God glorifying, they are simply evil, demonic and Wordly.. Be ye NOT CONFORMED to the WORLD.. KNOW YE NOT THAT YOUR BODY IS THE TEMPLE OF THE MOST HIGH?.. When did the temple of the Most High becoming a dancing instrument for the devil?. The time you spend dancing in the club and wasting your time could be spent doing other valuable things if not being in the presence of God, dancing for him..

The people of this World go to the club to Feel Among, Fill In or should i say Macho?.. Must you be like them?. Must you do what they do?. I think seeing all the immoralities performed at the club should even piss you off..

Look, i could keep on writing, but let's just leave it this way.. CLUBBING IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG!!!!!!!!

That is your opinion, not mine. I do dance at church. I also dance in the club. the reason....the music is different. I think you need to go out and experience some stuff, your comments about clubbing show me you haven't been.

I'm none too sure that I would be encouraging a brother in Christ to 'go out and experience some stuff'. That's asking for trouble for them. I see nothing wrong with a young man being against going clubbing...it's an innocent view, and if he holds on to it, he can stay away from much possible (probable) temptation.

By the way, your reasoning for going to a club, "the music is different", that's one of the issues people on here have with clubs. What artists do they play at the clubs you go to, out of curiosity?

I can't name a 4 hour set. They play secular music which is the point you are getting at (and yes the dreaded ms perry has been know to feature). I was encouraging him to go out as without any experience I don't think he has a valid point.

Nice disregard for the opinions of those who DO have experience and are still against it.

I think it's completely fair to be personally against something, but you need to know something about it to be against it, and it's not right to tell others that it is right or wrong. I like music, secular or religious. I hate some religious music as I hate some secular music. People aren't going clubbing for the lyrics, it's the tune and the beat. People don't tend to even pay attention to lyrics. When I listened to Mumford and Sons, I was surprised by the religious aspect of their music, because no-one had mentioned it to me before. People don't pay that much attention to the lyrics unless they're looking to get meaning out of something.

Actually, I was asking because I was honestly just curious if it would be very different or not from what is largely played at clubs here.

I don't think it's right to dismiss a person's views based on them being innocent.

I suppose it would be different as some of the uk acts are not big in america, I don't know whats played over there though as the last time I was in the states I was 13.

It is up to him if he chooses to go or not but how can he tell me clubs are evil? He knows nothing about them except what other people have said.

Mumford and sons really? they were in Shetland not so long ago. I have literally never listened to them.

Their lyrics have a lot of meaning in them. My favourite is "It seems that all my bridges have been burned, but you say that's exactly how this grace thing works." After several people trying to explain it to me, I finally understood what grace is when I listened to that!

I guess i might actually have to listen to them. maybe. I am right into Adam Baker just now (hes pretty new and local), saw him at wesley owens the other night and he was fantastic. And to get back the point one of his songs has been playing on a secular radio station.

I think clubbing and drinking is wrong, the bible said let your light so shine ,that men may see the good works and glorify the father which is in heaven,i think that clubbing and drinking sets a bad example for the unsaved, the Bible also said to be sober

Drinking and being drunk are not the same.
