(why fight when you can run)
Have you played Metal Gear Solid 5?
The whole series is based on this idea to run instead of fighting.
It's the first game that gave rise to the stealth game genre.

Sneaking in MGS is more like a puzzle. You know there is a solution. There is always a way to get from here to there. The question is, how did the devs intend for you to get there?

Now the plot... Following the MGS plot, that's the hard part!

Totally agree.
The reason I mentioned MGS5 is because it’s an open world format and there’s literally an unlimited number of ways to do a mission.
You can’t do it a specific way anymore but they leave it up to you.

Another game that I like is mass effect andromeda.
This is a very controversial opinion lol because all the diehard ME fans hate this game but I like it because the combat mechanics are 10 times better than the previous games

tyrant plasma engines.

So this morning I fired up Endless Sky and played around with it a while. Started a new game, paid down the mortgage pretty fast and joined a mining company.

I blame you. If you hadn't mentioned it I would never have reinstalled it. :p

i am obviously not on the same version, i can't mine. also certain things are broken. i discovered how to buy things for cheap and sell them for high on the same planet without leaving or save edits.

i take all credit.

The mining stuff is a mod that adds a new storyline. I'm not actually mining. It's mostly a lot of fetch quests to help set up a new mining operation out in Syndicate territory.

Although you CAN mine asteroids in the base game.

Which planet are you on and what commodity is this?

I only ever completed the Free Worlds storyline. I never even did the Wanderers story. And I got a LOT of mods that add other storylines. So I might be busy with this game for a while...

oh yeah but there aare mining lasers....unless he was pulling my leg...hmmm... and mining ships. but i cant find any lasers.

any planet, the top commodity on the list. doesn't really mattere though.

heh heh... yeah, the wanderers story is hard. btw, hai generators that are o n sheild beets are 90 tons and sell for 1.53 mil. credits. i like to get a good ship and then outfit it using free stuff stolen from unfettered hai. beetles usually dont get destroyed, so jump in, wait at 3x spd untiil ones is up for grabs and loot it and jump out. totes worth the effort. enjoy my bad/british spelling.

Just the stuff? Beetles are widely considered the best ships in the game for building a fleet out of.

Wait, you went from this to the unfettered hai in such a short time? How many hours per day do you spend playing this thing? Just curious.

under 2. but i am a casual speedrunner. i beat the ur-quan masters in under 4hous. maybe two.

the hai are easy to find, its rare, but if you strip mostly everything out of a sparrow and get a large bunk room, and get frag grenades you can clear ou a rarely left disabled hai thunderbug (?) then you sell every weapon on the new hai ship (and the sparrow you sell) and buy cargo units. you then go and steal two chameleon anti missiles and equip them. now you can flly through beetle combat. then you n eed ship of your choice to take out the ccrew on the beetle. you will quip it using parts stolen from beetles.

remember, you ned to be on the starsystem next to un fettered hai space. they attack constantly, plenty of salvaging avaliable.
you need to land on the planet to get aa sve in case you get blasted.
the strat is(bc beetles'l one hit you) land depart. wait on capslk. board and capture or steal and jump. repeat. make million. about 1.7 mil per cycle, around 3-5 mins. avg.

sorry if you already knew this ;)

Technically I am aware of it, yes. I have never done such a thing because I'm in it more for the story. I like to wander around and see what the devs left on this planet.

But if you ever speedrun incredible adventures of Van helsing, on fearless mode, with a constructor, I would love to see a video of that please.

yeah but having a big ship and a lot of cash so you can go 10-12 jumps without stopping makes it a lot more enjoyable exploring say the ember wastes(near terminus) also it only takes minutes to get a couple mil. i am at 12 mil after half an hour. btw if you have two chameleon anti missile turrets you almost never get hit. if you have the korath am turrets you wont ever.

uhhhh.....*lookst blank*
