They still are trying to fulfill the old covenant and waiting for the messiah to someday come remove thier sins and fill them with his spirit and give them new hearts but ……that’s what the gospel is the fulfillment of all those promises in the ot made to them and also concerning all people of the earth in Abraham the father of many nations
if they accept the gospel and Jesus as the messiah they’ll be saved by the covenant God
promised them in the ot
after they broke his covenant with them …
“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that
I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:”
Jeremiah 31:31-32
they aren’t able to understand the old eas fulfilled in Christ and the gospel and thier old covenant became a curse until they repent and believe the gospel they are in a very tight spot with God what Jesus did was also done for them like everyone else
“And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be
my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel:
I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.”
