INO the Tribulation will begin this year on the Feast Trumpets.

Just as there was a delay till the Holy spirit came on Pentecost, there will be another delay leading up to when the reaping of the earth shall be Pentecost in 2009 on the 1335th day
------------------------------------------------------
Correction------- shall be Pentecost in 2029 on the 1335th day of the Tribulation

The Lamps are vessels. Just as we are vessels.

The Holy Spirit has been consistently linked to oil and anointing in many places in Scripture.
If we start with those two understandings we may be able to unravel this parable.

I think it's as simple as 5 virgins had the Holy Spirit, and 5 did not.

Maybe those who "sell" oil are fake shepherds/Pastors selling a false Gospel.
Because when they come back with this fake oil Jesus says to them "I do not know you"!

Yes, the wording of the five foolish virgins is all too familiar to the reader of Matthew’s Gospel: Matthew 25:11 - "Later, the other virgins came too, saying, ‘Lord, lord! Let us in!’ 12 But he replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I do not know you!" Matthew 7:21 - "Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of heaven" but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven - (See John 6:40). 22 On that day, many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons and do many powerful works?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ (Matthew 7:22-23)

The difference between the foolish virgins and the wise virgins is that the wise virgins had oil for their lamps, while the foolish virgins did not. The wise virgins had the opportunity to obtain oil and did so. The foolish virgins had plenty of opportunity to get oil but did not. It's possible to be in close contact with Christ, and with Christians, and yet not be saved. I am reminded of a similar passage in the Gospel of Luke:

Luke 13:23 - Someone asked him, "Lord, will only a few be saved?" So, he said to them, 24 "Exert every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25 Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, then you will stand outside and start to knock on the door and beg him, ‘Lord, let us in!’ But he will answer you, ‘I don’t know where you come from.’ 26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’ 27 But he will reply, ‘I don’t know where you come from! Go away from me, all you evildoers!’ 28 There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God but you yourselves thrown out. 29 Then people will come from east and west, and from north and south, and take their places at the banquet table in the kingdom of God. 30 But indeed, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last."

Jesus may indeed be warning us in this parable that there will be a number of people who look like Christians, who associate with Christians, and who even think they are Christians, who will be shocked to learn that they are not saved at the return of our Lord and Christ never knew them. What a sobering thought!

Well it begins I think with the first 4 trumpets, which are pretty bad, and then it says woe to those living on the earth for the next 3 trumpets. So I don"t know how they can say it won't be tribulation.
Yeah I don't know how they can think that either but some say that it has already happened as well there are many different interpretations some people say this others say that and sometimes it is about the timing not so much the interpretation

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My understanding of the Last Trump/Trumpet is in regards to the 7th Trumpet as the Resurrection/Rapture happens at the reaping of the earth at Rev. 14:14. That moment in time between last Trumpet and the Vial/Bowl Judgements.

That moment is called:

Great and Terrible Day of the Lord
Great and Glorius Day of the Lord
But what if it isn't talking about the seven trumpets but instead the trumpets on the feast of trumpets?

Thanks ResidentAlien, for your question. When a person is saved by the Lord, he is said to be bought with a price. The price is what Jesus paid for him or her at the cross. When a person is sold, it is sold into the slavery of sin. Buying and selling, then, is associated with the gospel. Just like PaulThomson mentioned in his latest comment: "Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. " The invitation is for anyone who is thirsty for salvation. It cannot be bought with our own works and with the money that that generates. Rather, Jesus has done the work and the buying of our souls. We can be thankful and believe in him, trusting for what he has done. It seems that the unsaved virgins may not have truly received the gospel, whilst the saved ones did.
The 10 were all saved.
In the 7 letters to the churches the lukewarm that are spewed out of Jesus mouth are saved born again believers.

Paul CLASSIFIED BELIEVERS AS 1) mature, 2) babes) 3) carnal and 4) spiritual.

In 1st cor Paul addressed the spewed out foolish virgins.
He said: "some are saved as through fire, they are saved, but their works are burned up."

We see in mat 24 and then mat 25 just a few sentences later that half the church is left behind.
They are not somehow unsaved.
They deal with the AC via martyrdom.
They are 100% saved and make it to heaven.
Read the parable of the wedding invitation guests.
It ALL TIES IN.

But what if it isn't talking about the seven trumpets but instead the trumpets on the feast of trumpets?

Well I wouldn't say you are a liar if you end up being wrong it is just we are all trying to figure out this puzzle and we each have been given a piece of the puzzle some more than others but his ways are mysterious and so we all could end up being wrong in our understanding.

I think you may be right personally about the tribulation starting this year but you never know we could be wrong

I would never put dates on a screen if I didnt think the Lord was with me. Peace will be taken from the earth this fall. How can one understand this puzzle unless they knew the Father? Every scripture has to be placed in order and time.

Hello! I heard an interesting talk some years ago by Roger Price in which he explained his view that although it is right to be prepared for the return of the Lord and keep your lamp burning, in this one specific instance the Bride and the Ten Virgins are not synonymous. In the Jewish wedding celebration, where would the bride be at this moment? There's one bride, not ten lighting the way. God Bless All :)
