I want to extrapolate my first post, my green brain of very little matter didn't get my 'edit' in before the 5 minutes was up. (What can you expect from an Edward (bear) ) 
Anyway, yeah, let's bring the unknown subject matter of SINGLENESS into the known , so you all can tell of books that are pertinent to studyers of this forum .

I am a fan of the Firebird series by Kathy Tyers.
First, a word of caution, it is under the sci-fi genre and does very much reflect a fictional story with strong parallels to the Bible. I guess it could most closely be compared to the kind of fiction of the Narnia series in that it isn't directly about God as we know Him.
Secondly, the Firebird series focuses on a lost young woman who is struggling against a vastly unfair state-religion that she has been raised in since birth. It follows the story both of her religious development as she discovers the power and truth of the one true God, as well as a budding romance between herself and a man who she thought was her enemy. In between there is plenty of action and plot twists that help make the story seem less like a dramatic love story and more like a fully developed, complex story.
I have shared it with several people (including those that don't typically tend towards sci-fi) and they have found it quite interesting and enjoyable.

I like to read but i dont read to much because i usually dont have much time, but i have read some of Max Lucado and i like them.
My favorite is Fearless of Max Lucado because it talks about how to put away the fears that as humans we all have had sometime, besides that its written in a light way with a lot of sense of humor and i like that.

Hi Liz, I agree, Max Lucado is my all time fave christian writer.I dont get to read as much as I would want to as I am swamped with studies, but here are some of the books I like,
- An excerpt from Max Lucado's "Just like Jesus"----“When my daughter was a toddler, I used to take her to a park not far from our apartment. One day as she was playing in a sandbox, an ice-cream salesman approached us. I purchased her a treat, and when I turned to give it to her, I saw her mouth was full of sand. Where I had intended to put a delicacy, she had put dirt.
Did I love her with dirt in her mouth? Absolutely. Was she any less of my daughter with dirt in her mouth? Of course not. Was I going to allow her to keep the dirt in her mouth? No way. I loved her right where she was, but I refused to leave her there. I carried her over to the water fountain and washed out her mouth. Why? Because I love her.
God does the same for us. He holds us over the fountain. "Spit out the dirt, honey," our Father urges. "I've got something better for you." And so he cleanses us of filth; immorality, dishonesty, prejudice, bitterness, greed. We don't enjoy the cleansing; sometimes we even opt for the dirt over the ice cream. "I can eat dirt if I want to!" we pout and proclaim. Which is true—we can. But if we do, the loss is ours. God has a better offer.”
- Philip Yancy in his book, "Where is God when it hurts" reveals a God who is neither capricious nor unconcerned. Using examples from the Bible and from his own experiences, Yancey looks at pain---physical, emotional, and spiritual---and helps us understand why we suffer.
- Joshua Harris wrote a book about dating woes, entitled, "I kissed dating goodbye", The book focuses on Harris' disenchantment with the contemporary secular dating scene, and offers ideas for improvement, alternative dating/courting practices, and a view that singleness need not be a burden nor characterized by what Harris describes as "selfishness."
"The Hiding Place" By Corrie Ten Boom was really good, especially if you like WWII history. It pertains to singleness in the sense that Corrie and her sister never married, but fulfilled God's plan as single ladies. "Tramp For The Lord" is about Corrie's life after the war ended, I enjoyed that one a lot, as well

I'm much more writer than reader, but some of my faves are:
1. A Life God Rewards by Bruce Wilkinson (I also liked Secret Of The Vine about fruit bearing lives)
This story taught me to give, for your deeds on Earth do NOT get you to Heaven (john 1:9 Works without FAITH is dead) but the things you do to help.others on Earth DO go toward your life in Heaven . Wilkinson points out numerous examples of a 'better Heaven' for those that do MORE FoR Him (God) on Earth.
2. Passion & Purity: my favoritest book
I've read it cover to cover twice. It's about Elizabeth Elliott's personal journey with God who slowly, surely, maybe (well, I don't wanna give it away, LOL ) finds a guy just right for her to date, get to know, maybe, marry 
3. The Shadow Portrait by Gilbert Morris . Great fiction christian stories by master storyteller, Morris, who in The Shadow Portrait tells a story of a young lady who must figure out a way, at age thirtysomething to get out from under her protective father , who is tough on her, so much so, she rarely ventures from the house of her parents , that is, until she meets Phil Winslow...
