Halloween is the only night of the year, in our culture, where lost people actually go door-to-door to saved people's homes.

Rather than have your own Christian alternative on Halloween, you should be at home waiting for the door. This is the perfect opportunity to meet hundreds of people in one night... our Pagan neighbors.

I've read that some will set up tents in their yard, giving out water and coffee, along with candy and tracts. Sounds like a great idea!!

I found some Christian tracts online: Halloween by American Tract Society - some of these quote from the NIV bible. I can't find any NKJV ones. If you do, let me know.

Ready for Halloween?

Correct me if I'm wrong here....

(What originally happened on 31st Oct?)

It was the day of the reformation.

(History of Halloween)

Halloween, celebrated each year on October 31, is a mix of ancient Celtic practices, Catholic and Roman religious rituals and European folk traditions that blended together over time to create the holiday we know today. Straddling the line between fall and winter, plenty and paucity and life and death, Halloween is a time of celebration and superstition. Halloween has long been thought of as a day when the dead can return to the earth, and ancient Celts would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off these roaming ghosts. The Celtic holiday of Samhain, the Catholic Hallowmas period of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day and the Roman festival of Feralia all influenced the modern holiday of Halloween. In the 19th century, Halloween began to lose its religious connotation, becoming a more secular community-based children's holiday. Although the superstitions and beliefs surrounding Halloween may have evolved over the years, as the days grow shorter and the nights get colder, people can still look forward to parades, costumes and sweet treats to usher in the winter season.

Its a night to glorify Satan. NO one should take any part of it at all. Stop making excuse for doing so. Even to touch the candy some get demons from this.

I used to love it until I learned more of God and more of Satan.

in the final book harry walks into the arms of the enemy and lets them kill him. his friends are now protected from the enemy. harry then comes back to life. does that story sound familiar to anyone. whats a parable? all things serve God. could it be that the reason this series is so successful is because its a parable of Jesus? the magic and witchcraft is a parable for faith and prayer. don't get me wrong, i would rather they read the bible. what we do in the open, they do in secret. we love the truth and follow the truth. they love the truth, disguised as a lie. we are obedient, they are rebellious.

don't even get me started on vampires. a person comes to town and prays on your children. asking them to drink the blood of their master to receive eternal life in a perfect body. again we see the truth we love being disguised to them in a lie. the parable is quite accurate. one of the worst jokes the devil plays on man is this, the non believers become rich and famous portraying and serving the truth of God in parable, while they themselves reject it. because they reject it, they are damned. its a horrible reality to face, their rebellious behavior still serves God, but the rebellious child is punished. their true motives for their behavior are known to God. i pray they find mercy and forgiveness. all i see on halloween is their secret desire to be Christians.

thank you for this , I am going to share it with my friends.
extortion!! a stranger comes to my house in disguise! then demands tribute!! if tribute is not paid, they threaten mischievous acts!! this is extortion under duress. the sheer atrocities that could befall me leave me with no choice but to pay their ransom. this whole thing operates like a mafia protection racket. then when they leave, another group approaches!! there is no one to help!! this is all done with the consent of the authorities!! i plead and beg with these culprits and they just laugh and hold out their ransom bags. this goes on for hours, usually in broad daylight!! oh the humanity!! i think some of them are even children!! the horror, the horror!!

but this year i came up with a solution. when i answer the door to these extortionist. i will be dressed as santa claus!!!! hah hah hah, the naughty or nice rule will protect me from their demands of trick or treat. cause and effect will most certainly be on my side!! no one wants on the naughty list!! or i could barter, a treat for you now, and in a couple months i will sneak into your house in the middle of the night to eat cookies and drink milk!! sleep on that you little urchins!! the possibilities are endless. i even know an elf who is a dentist hahahahaha hohohoho

I never thought of Halloween as Satanic or evil in the least. Halloween was originally a festival to celebrate good spirits protecting the people from evil spirits, and derives its name from the name "All-Hallows-Even", that being the night before All Saints Day, a celebration to honor all saints known and unknown. The only reason Halloween *seems* Satanic is because of commercialism, and the fact that people enjoy the darker side of Halloween, giving some people an understandably negative feel towards it. The point is; Halloween is very closely, if not directly, linked to the Catholic holiday of All Saints Day, something I'm sure we can all agree is far from being "Satanic" as most people think.

Ephesians 5:11

New King James Version (NKJV)

11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

It really doesn't matter how close of a parallel there is with Christianity, we cannot have any part of anything that God hates in any way shape or form. You can say that oh look the main theme mirror Christianity! However Satan always comes in an imitation of Christ. You know that God hates magic, witchcraft, etc. You also know that we are to be separate and to have nothing to do with the darkness in the occult and Satanism. So is it ok to use this stuff in an effort to bring people to Christ? Why should we compromise what we are asked by God to stand for? There is no tolerance or inclusiveness in our walk for things not of God! We win people by being examples and allowing the light of Christ to shine through us. How good of an example can we be when we tolerate and dabble in things that are clearly against our walk and against God? Is it just entertainment? Yes to the world, but we are not of the world spiritually anymore and we have put away our former conduct.

There is a reason why Jesus asked us to count the costs before coming to Christianity. Walking the road as a disciple of Jesus is not easy. It will require us to give up many things we once deemed good in our lives. This includes friends, family, and things not of God that we once held high in our lives. It requires a sacrifice that many people are not willing to make.

Matthew 7:13-14 (NKJV)

13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because[a] narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
