This summer I have had 2 dreams unlike any I have had in my 57 year life time. The first one I will post here was one I think of every day since I had it. It was AMAZING for me. Keep in mind it was a dream. I share it with you and encourage you to read the book "Heaven" by Randy Alcorn which I read subsequent to this dream. Here is the dream:
My Dream – The Rooms
In the summer of 2011 I experienced an amazing dream. It was an experience that comes to mind nearly every day since. It was so wonderful I hope every night when I am ready for sleep that I could please have this dream recur.
The dream began with my arrival on a sunny day in an unknown place. Before me was a vast number of perfectly constructed cave like places that I cannot properly describe. I simply will refer to them as rooms. The rooms appeared to go up for miles in the sky and stretch both directions for miles as well. There were other people in this place going in and out of the rooms but I knew none of them. I began exploring the first room.
The first room I entered opened up into a nature setting having a crystal clear river running down the middle. The trees and plants lining the river were so beautiful I cannot describe them because the colors were unlike anything I have seen on earth before. As I entered the room I discovered I could fly right down the river. I flew and observed and knew this place was nature perfected and I knew it was earth but not like anything I have seen. As I flew I had the urge to fly down and take a dip in the water not one time but many. Each time I came out of the water laughing and exhilaratingly refreshed. I flew at differing speeds and directions just having a great time. Then I exited the room.
I noticed a lot of people coming and going from the rooms and shared with them about my nature room. They shared with me about other rooms. I cannot remember all that was said but they were all very nice people. I traveled around to the next rooms and as I recall it was some distance passing thousands of other rooms. Then I entered what I call the choir room. I am sorry because my descriptions of these rooms are simply poor at best.
The choir room was much like I had thought of heaven prior to the dream. It was very brightly lit up and the dress of people in this room was white or bright colors. But that is not what I noticed as much as the music. The music was so beautiful with singing harmonies I have never heard. I was not simply listening neither were others in the room. We were all singing and playing music together sharing songs we had created. It was not only beautiful it was fun! We were praising Jesus Christ but enjoying each other. I had written songs that were sang and played that were wonderful. But other had their songs that were equally amazing as we shared. Again, everyone was sharing and contributing. The music in this room was more classical with an assortment of instruments including strings, trumpets, harps, drums, and more.
I left the music room and entered another music room. This one was fun music of every kind. I mean every type of fun music like hoe down, Latin, Jamaican, western, and yodeling. Everyone was dancing and no one ever was tired. You could dance forever there doing fun dances. Everyone again played instruments, danced, sang, and laughed over and over.
I left this room and entered the history room. Of all the rooms in my dream this one was the most unique and unlike anything I have ever experienced. As I entered the room and walked along a light so bright would explode and engulf me. The lights were unlike any I had seen. As a light exploded my mind understood a period of history on earth. I remember hearing myself make comments such as “oh, that is what happened”. These lights exploded almost step by step as I walked along. I comprehended the rest of the story of true history of planet earth but this room was unending. I wish I could recall something I learned there but could not. In my dream I simply knew this was how history was revealed to me.
I entered many other rooms there in the dream but cannot recall enough to describe them to you. However, after visiting each room I met people and we spent some time sharing together and I enjoyed doing that as much as the rooms I visited.
At the end of my dream something was missing. I simply could not figure out what it was. Suddenly, I turned around and my Jo Ellen was standing there. She had just arrived and did not know where she was but was happy to see me. That was the first person I recognized in my dream. My wife is now almost 58 years old but in this dream she was about 17 or 18 years old. When I saw her I was very happy as I knew she would love these rooms and I wanted to take her to each one.
I then woke up. I tried to go back to sleep and get back to the rooms but I could not. Since I had this dream I think of it every day.
In the bible in the book of John 14:2 Jesus said, “In my Father’s house are many rooms…I go to prepare a place for you.” Then he promises to come again and take receive us. I may have been able to see a glimpse of that place. If it was my imagination then the place Jesus prepared is even better than this. I can tell you this place in my dreams is what I long for and I believe it is my true home. My home is with Jesus Christ in paradise forever.
