After a year of the same results with having a fatty and enlarged liver, my doctors are recommending food suppressants. I’m going to my primary care physician right now to talk to him about which one to get on that’ll work with the meds I’m already on.

I kinda figured this is what was going to happen because I prayed about my physical health the day before they recommended I get this done, so I am just trusting God with the process.

I’m currently around 290lbs but I wear it really well. My mom did not think I was even close to that kind of weight. (The unconditional love of a mother)

Anyways, if you guys can pray this process goes smoothly, I’d appreciate it. Apparently it comes with monthly injections but I hope they give me the tablet form version. (In Jesus name amen)

Yes, You do what the doctors tell you. This is very important.

I just want to let you know about a herb called berberine. This berberine binds to the same hunger receptor that the anti-psychotics do. It counters the hunger effects of anti-psychotics. Most doctors have heard of Berberine before, so you can talk with your doctor about it. Your doctor cannot recommend it, or say to eat it, because it's an supplement, Not something given by pharmacy.

I have been using berberine for long time, and it works very well to counter that hunger side effect of respiradal. I take 600mg per day at lunch time. It lasts until next day.

My view is that health is not just a physical problem that is fixed by medical doctors. It's a number of decisions carried out according to wisdom and God's Word.
Since Jesus designed us with a body, soul and spirit, positive changes involve each area.
I have done mini interviews with numerous medical/ chemical Drs asking about their formal training in health as " health care professionals."
What I discovered is that they had either little or no training in true health care.
Medical schools and hospitals redefine "health" from nutritional and fitness objectives to chemical dependency and panels of test ranges that pharmaceutical companies define as "health care."

Members can disagree but Synthetic patented Chemicals are not healing elixirs or panaceas for health. I understand your frustration at not achieving goals in a year. It can seem overwhelming. I used to be morbidly obese and the kid who was called cruel names in school, so I can relate to an unhealthy lifestyle and body image.
I was from a medical family if major MDs and nurses.
I know the perspective that's common to the mental box built around us.

This isn't intended for just you.
This is for US.
I believe this concept is common to all people, but not the only motivation. I personally have to remind myself about how we are wired, so when spinning my wheels I can regain the necessary motivation to accomplish new and long term goals. Perhaps others can learn from something common to us all.

Gold nugget for Health #1:
Throw away sweetened beverages and artificial sweeteners.
Make water the primary beverage.
Use a blender fruit/ vegetables for special treats instead of pop, etc.

I was morbidly obese as a kid myself, and only lately coming free from it, I understand how difficult it can be to quit.
Modern pre-processed food is engineered to be cheap to make & addive, and not at all easy for someone used to it to come off of.
If going straight to a total diet change seems too hard, start out with lower-calorie options of the flavors you're used to. Read the labels and choose things with less sugar & saturated fats, being careful not to eat over 100% of the daily value and minding the serving sizes.
Strive to eat less. Practice fasting, and subduing impulsive urges to eat when your body cries for it. Let it learn to use its fat reserves.
Adjust your diet for nutrition over pleasent flavors. It doesn't mean you have to eat stuff that tastes bad, but look for what you know would be better for your body, comfortably compromizing out what you're used to until it doesn't enslave you anymore.
It's a slow & steady road, and you may relapse on the way. I know it well. But I used to be 230lb, and now I'm 155lb, and I know I feel much better than before.

I suggest you keeping a food journal and writing down everything you eat. It will force you to be conscious of what you stuff inside your body. Also, you can try intermittent fasting; try skipping one meal a day; and the benefits are 1) its good for you 2) you will save some extra $$ on less food costs.

Thanks for the info @Brasspen

I was taking risperidal for the longest time annd other meds…about 15 years and they finally put me on something else.

Now I’m taking buspirone in the morning and night, lurasidone after dinner and divalproex and vraylar. Probably the best combo so far. My mood is wayyy more stabilized, I don’t hear or see things that aren’t there, I haven’t had a psychosis since 2012.

When we surrender our lives to Christ, one of Jesus’ goals is to make us whole again (I believe), bringing Eden back and bringing heaven down to earth.

I personally don’t believe in self managed health care. Drug addicts manage themselves and they end up on the streets. The only thing I manage are my health care providers. If I can’t trust them, I just stop making appointments with them and find someone else. There is like doctors everywhere in California with same day appointments. We have the best mental health care in the nation I think. Yeah, we have a lot of homeless people but we also have a lot of people who reject Jesus. God provides for all of our needs.

I’ll definitely take your golden nugget for health.

I tend to use stevia as a sweetener as it doesn’t spike blood sugar.

The other things you mentioned, I may be wired differently or have different convictions but I appreciate you sharing with me what you think.

Oatmeal, beans, and tea are effective appetite suppressants. Making savory dishes with oatmeal can also help you feel full so you aren’t hungry for 5 to 6 hours.
and swapping out eggs for flaxseeds is healthy

I use stevia too. 😎👍🏻

Here's a class from Dr. Josh Axe worth everyone's time. He doesn't go as far as I do on the subject, but his recommendations are pretty sound.

Keep in mind that the weight loss that is typical with Ozempic is from a quarter to over one third muscle. Most who lose weight regain it in the form of fat. I would listen to the side effects section more than once. It damages the pancreas in many and can cause paralysis of the digestive tract. That was one of the special little gifts that the hospital head Drs and Registered Dieticians gave to my Mom. This is not a rare effect of this classification of drugs.
I would listen to Dr Axe's section on side effects more than once.
