So you really can't explain why I should be grateful to people who have had, and have, nothing to do with salvation, except in a vague roundabout way, that frankly makes no sense. If you really understood like you think you do, then you could easily explain it clearly

Without the Jews there is no Jesus. Period. Now that that's settled let's get back to the topic. How to witness to the Jews. If you don't wish to do that, this isn't the thread for you.

The reason why --I have given you ----so Satan now has blinded your Mind to see the Spiritual reasoning ---it is sbove your pay grade of understanding ----

Clearly----- either ---your not born again or you are born again and are a babe in Christ feeding on milk not the meat of the scripture --

It is very simple to understand went you get to eat the meat of the scripture ----but your clearly not there yet ----

ChristRose is drawing you into an argument to distract from the subject of how to witness to Jews. I have asked nicely several times to stay on the subject. Please don't let him drag this thread to the negative and bickering BDF usual. We want to keep this informative and positive.

You can’t witness to the Jews. Why try, unless God has told you to. Do you know how many people have witnessed to Ben Shapiro?

Meh.

You can't witness to Muslims either. Or to a lot of other stubborn groups. Why try?

Because Jesus commands us to:

Matthew 28:8 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Hello @ThereRoseaLamb, I like a lot of what has been said in your thread so far, the various ideas about how to witness to Jews, that is (prayer, the use of their "Tanakh" (our OT) as a principal tool in witnessing to them, the need to know, understand and approach them as Jews .. e.g. 1 Corinthians 9:19-23, the use of Tanakh Messianic prophesies to demonstrate who the Lord Jesus really is, etc.).

If you've not done so already, you should begin to familiarize yourself with what Jews believe and why, beginning with the kind of Judaism that they practice today ("Rabbinic Judaism") and the traditions that they've created and maintained as important for millennia now (e.g. in case you don't know, Judaism continues to believe/teach that God delivered not only the "written" Torah to Moses, but also an "oral" Torah, as well, which in large part makes up what we most often refer to as Jewish "Tradition" .. of course, the Lord had more than just a couple of disparaging words to say about the Jews "Oral Torah"/Traditions in the NT, as I know you know).

Understanding what they believe concerning forgiveness and salvation is very important, of course, though you need to be careful whenever you broach certain aspects of that topic with them because it is a very touchy subject, starting with why/how they believe God can and/or will forgive their sins apart from an animal sacrifice. Here's a hint, Rabbinic Judaism points to the use of things like grain offerings for the poor and God's "apparent" choice to forgive King David of adultery and murder just for the asking (2 Samuel 12:13) as reasons why "blood" was/is not necessary for the atonement/forgiveness of sins.

Understanding what certain/commonly used Hebrew (and Yiddish) words/phrases mean (like Tanakh, Mezuzah, etc., or yada, yada, yada :), which does not find its roots in Hebrew or Yiddish, even though it is clearly part of the modern, Jewish pop-culture) can certainly be helpful, as does knowing as much about their culture/religion as you can.

If you have a Jewish friend (perhaps the one you'd like to witness to?), I'd start by asking him/her about what it means (to them) to be Jewish (about their faith and culture). There are also Jewish learning sites (for Jews) e.g. www.chabad.org, www.myjewishlearning.com, as well as a number of Christian/Messianic websites about witnessing to Jews, too .. e.g. Presenting Messiah To Your Jewish Friend - Chosen People Ministries.

There are Jewish forums, of course, and some Christian forums that welcome Jewish participation, sometimes giving them their own board on the forum (where Jews and Christians can interact with one another) e.g. Judaism | CARM Forums. If you need to familiarize yourself a bit more with not only Judaism, but with Rabbinic Judaism apologetics, you might check out the link above as two of their apologists, usernames Jewjitzu (a cradle Jew) and Open Heart (a Christian convert to Judaism) post their daily. Just following them and reading what they're writing (against the Christian faith) will give you to see the kind of arguments that you'll probably be faced with if you begin to witness to Jews regularly.

God bless you!!

I was hoping someone would start this thread. But I know some of you have some thoughts that you shared in the other thread. @God-fearing was it you? Sorry, I don't recall. Either way I hope this can be a good discussion. This thread is NOT about or for ANY other discussion than winning Jews to Christ. There are a dozen other threads for that. Go there!

"Jerusalem!... How I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings,
but you were not willing. (Matthew 23:37)

The entire Bible came through the Hebrews, and the New Testament was made with israel and then gentiles were added in with them. Jesus was born of the tribe of Judah a tribe of the children of isreal thoer story became ours together with them later on . Israel has a lot to do with it

Israel of the past has everything to do with salvation, but people living today have nothing to do with it. That is solely between each believer and God. If anything, Jews today should be grateful to gentiles who preserved the faith of Christ and the NT scriptures for nearly 2000 years so that they can be saved. Otherwise they wouldn't know anything about it and would be lost.

Naw Jews and gentiles don’t need to have gratitude towards the other group of sinners we’re all the same to god

but towards Jesus born of the tribe of Judah. That’s the connection and source of the New Testament was my point the new covenant was made with Old Testament isreal we’re just included we don’t need to thank them they don’t need to thank us just everyone needs to look tonjesus and praise his holy name and realize there were to folds and now there’s one shepherd and fold

Many isralites of the ot are the priests n heaven already with Jesus we should t disparage Israel but as you are saying make the distinction between Israel and what we see today and call Israel what we created from the ashes of war

God loves israel they are engraved on his palms but we tried to re create them and the nation he destroyed and left desolate it’s only the rebels of Israel that are doomed just like the rebels of the gentiles and only the believers of Jew and gentile will be saved

No difference it’s all about one Lord Jesus Christ

I agree 100%. We all need to be grateful to God only.
I think just my opinion , part of the problem for them is that very thing they aren’t special anymore they aren’t the only ones he’s called anymore . It’s hard for them to god from his only people tonjist part of the group . It removes all thier preisthood authority and control over the people of Israel .

The religious and pious Jews enjoyed very high social status warring thoer elegant robes and long and growing phylacteries in thier pride as the rulers over the general assembly of Israel.

Of the gospel is true and it absolutely beyond wuestion is true , then all their social rule and high society status meant nothing and the people could just look to Jesus and not have to serve the preists as it was . Like the “old hippie “ in the song tbey want to hang on to the old rather than grab on to the new but the old can’t save them

Have you shared the gospel with religious Jews? I find it easier for me to witness to secular Jews. I haven't done so with religious Jews because it seems they will only respond to the Christian Jews at least.

If you have, can you share your experience? Right now, God is just telling to me be a prayer support instead of evangelizing them myself. To also pray for my Christian Jewish brothers and sisters to be effective in reaching out to them.

Hi folks!

I didn't know Ray Comfort is Jewish, but it turns out he is from his mother's side. Jewishness is reckoned from the mother according to halakha (Jewish law), a principle known as matrilineal descent.

A lot to learn from this video! I'll post about in another post. In the meantime, here it is:

But not according to biblical law

We're trying to understand Jews, to witness to them better. It's interesting how the Jews define their Jewish identity through matrilineal descent, but it's not the only culture that follows this.

I'm fine with matrilineal descent not being mentioned in the Bible.

Well that's why I mnetioned it in order to point out that Jews don't follow biblical law, they follow rabbinical law

Things I learned from Ray Comfort's video testimony:

1. He had a good knowledge of Jewish culture and was able to tie OT verses to the gospel in the NT.

Since I don't have that background, I'm thinking that studying the book of Matthew as to the verses that Matthew used from the OT that point to Jesus would be a good start.

2. I appreciate our brothers and sisters who are Christian Jews sharing the gospel to unsaved Jews a lot more now.

In my experience, religious Jews don't really want to talk to Gentile Christians because of the animosity between Jews and Gentiles for most of history. So Christian Jews have a better chance of reaching unsaved Jews than we do.

So please pray for our Christian Jews who are serving God in sharing the gospel.

3. Ray Comfort has a Christian website!

It's nice because it welcomes ALL people to come to know Jesus and has great resources for Christians and for those seeking to know the Lord for salvation.
