Have you shared the gospel with religious Jews? I find it easier for me to witness to secular Jews. I haven't done so with religious Jews because it seems they will only respond to the Christian Jews at least. If you have, can you share your experience? Right now, God is just telling to me be a prayer support instead of evangelizing them myself. To also pray for my Christian Jewish brothers and sisters to be effective in reaching out to them.
Hello 2ndTimeIsTheCharm, yes, I have (a number of times, actually), the immediate results of which ranging from anger and frustration on the part of those I was talking to, to nothing more than a little shrug of the shoulders or an understated/barely audible, "uhh, ok" from them instead. At least I knew that those who took vehement exception to the things that I was telling them and/or the questions that I was asking them (e.g. about how the sins that Jews commit have been atoned for and forgiven since AD 70, for instance) were listening to what I had to say ;)

My first attempt at this kind of witnessing (to an educated/religious Jew) happened decades ago in the office of a conservative rabbi in his synagogue. I had to go over a number of things with him that day and we kind of hit it off personally as well, so it was the best experience that I've had witnessing to a religious Jew, but it hasn't yielded any fruit (none that I'm aware of anyway).

If it is witnessing success stories about religious Jews that you're looking for, ones like the above are all that I have. I know a number of Jews who have left Judaism and become Christians, and some others who maintain their Jewish faith but secretly attend church and believe in the Lord Jesus too (because, while they KNOW that He is the Messiah, they don't want to break ties with their Jewish family and community).

That said, if you feel the Lord is leading you to not only pray, but to witness to someone who is a religious Jew, be sure to be obedient to His call, because it's certainly possible that the Father intends for you to play a part in bringing them to saving faith .. e.g. Romans 10:17. (Let no one go there unwarned and unprayed for ~Pastor Charles Spurgeon. They simply MUST hear ~Missionary Jim Elliot.)

Finally, though religious Jews may be some of the toughest nuts to crack, the good news to remember is that the "Nutcracker" in this case is more than up to the task :)

God bless you!!

~Deuteronomy
p.s. - one last thought, if you end up asking a religious Jew about how his/her sins are atoned for/forgiven these days (apart from animal sacrifices, that is), and they try to tell you that, Biblically, the sacrifices were never a necessary part of salvation, you may want to go back and ask them this, why God chose to institute them in the first place if they truly are unnecessary:unsure:

Whoops, yet another typo that I didn't see and edit before he 5-minute editing window was closed :(

The last half of the last sentence in my last post should have read as follows: "....you may want to go back and ask them this, why ~did~ God chose to institute them in the first place if they truly are unnecessary "

"Jerusalem!... How I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings,
but you were not willing. (Matthew 23:37)

42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and I am here. I came not of my own accord, but he sent me. 43 Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to hear my word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. 46 Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? 47 Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.”
(John 8:42-47)

Thank you so much for sharing you account! I do find religious Jews don't want to hear about Jesus from a Gentile Christian. There is a better chance for a Christian Jew to reach them, and I'm honestly relieved about that - that means I don't have to!😅

I'm a lot more comfortable sharing the gospel with secular Jews because their lifestyle is more Gentile than Jew. Some of them may celebrate the major Jewish holidays but eat bacon in their sandwich the next day. Also secular Jews don't segregate themselves from hanging out with Gentiles. They are all pretty much fun people to be with!

But the only time I get to hang out with a religious Jew is at work and we might have a group lunch, etc. And they'll talk to you during that lunchtime, but only about surface stuff. The minute I mention anything about Jesus, it's like they put an invisible wall around them. Really, I think the most effective thing I can do concerning sharing the gospel with them is to pray that their hearts become receptive and just leave the actual gospel-sharing to Christian Jews.

Jews will not accept Jesus the way he is now. Now I do not except everyone to agree and they don't have too, but the Jews are expecting a Jewish Messiah. Meaning: He keeps the Torah and the Oral Torah, He will redeem Israel to a G-dly State of Israel (the State today is one built by Athestic Zionist and has nothing to do with G-d sadly other than its location).

Non-Jews are not required to keep the Torah and do not have to understand it which is clear from Paul's writings. However for those who can can understand the depths of the New Testament, you will see that Jesus never abolished the Jewish Torah, but was teaching Jews how to keep it. As he said, "Your righteousness needs to exceed that of the Pharisees". Which means that had the foundation right, but they weren't living it properly and were hypocrites (a hypocrite is clearly one who teaches correctly, but doesn't act on his teachings).

With this in mind, if Non-Jews/Christians (which there is a very big movement today as never before) were Christian and obeyed Jesus and accepted that Torah is kosher of the Jewish people and that there is even a better way to keep the Torah and Christians would try and live that life...then you could have a chance...of course with a lot prayer and with G-d's help.

...however trying to tell Jews that Jesus did away with the Torah and that they are a replaced people...well if anyone did that to anyone regarding any topic of the world, you can imagine why they reject Jesus and will also do so if that the doctrine pushed on them.

I hope this helps.

Yeah, I don't really know a whole lot about Jewish stuff so I'm even more convinced to just pray for my Jewish Christians brothers and sisters who are called to reach out to Jews about Jesus and salvation.

Thank you so much for sharing your insights!

That is a great choice. May G-d continue to help you pray for the Jewish people and all people to come to Jesus and to follow him and his words and may unity come through him soon
