I didn't really know God Himself until I was given a Bible. I didn't know how to recognize Him until I read what He was like.

I didn't know what salvation was until I read it in the Bible. I had to understand what Jesus did for me first in order to accept His gift.

Of course, just reading the Bible doesn't do anything. When I learned to hear his voice (as written in the Bible), God brought the Bible to life even more, and gave me insight and understanding.

The Bible is God's love letter to us. I'm not going to set it aside just because you don't think what He says in it is important.

The scriptures are important for how would we know if we did not have the scriptures because it is of faith.

You said the bible testifies that Jesus is the truth and John 14:6. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me and John 17:3. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

You quote the scriptures as your proof of truth but say we do not the scriptures to know the truth.

You would have to believe the scriptures about Jesus and the truth which the Bible teaches before you can receive a message from Him.

So why would a 14 year old boy have to communicate words from the Lord to you that is already in the scriptures.

Jesus is not going to communicate with people who have not read scriptures to believe in Him.

So how can you say we do not need scriptures.

If they are a false prophet then we should be able to test them with scripture correct? People throw that term false prophet around like it is a light term to use but even I have been called one just because of a disagreement in discussion

Yes but I think what they are getting at is that there is a much more personal kind of relationship with him than just the written word. Here is what I don't get we use the scriptures and call them the word of god and twist and misinterpret cherry pick or make doctrines out of a few verses some even go so far to try to make it say something it isn't but when one comes along saying the word of God is not just the written word but instead is Jesus Christ himself they are without a second thought called false prophets or met with arguments against what they said when if by the logic of the written word if what they say is false scripture should be able to prove them false correct?

But I haven't seen anyone challenge him on this nor has anyone tested what he said against scripture he also is not saying to throw away your bibles but is saying there is far more to this than just the written.

In the old covenant the prophets were spoken to by God but in the new one anyone can hear from him and I don't mean his written word I mean his actual voice it no longer requires a prophet to hear from him but anyone can now but how many can actually hear him speaking as if he is an actual person? not just some God in the heavens or the written word but the word made alive

I told him I couldn't have known how to recognize God, His voice, and His salvation without first finding out about about God in the Bible and he implied I wasn't saved and relied too much on the Bible. But where else would I find out more about God before I make the decision to follow God and be saved??? The testimonies of people can only do so much....

It seemed to me he was just trying to find followers for himself and that's why he discouraged placing importance on the Bible. He wanted people listening to him instead.

Where then can we find God’s words?

He doesn't take the Bible seriously as God's words. How can we check if prophecies and doctrines come from God? How would we know how to live as God wants us to? God knew that satan would try to mess with us by lying, so God gave us the Bible as something concrete to help us see what are the things of God and what are not.

Hmm... well he certainly shouldn't have said that about you and granted if he completely disregards the bible then he needs to re evaluate himself but what he says is true however that the true word of God is from the mouth of Jesus Christ himself, look at how we use and treat the word of God in every day debates, we speak so highly of it yet have no issue with twisting it or forming doctrines out of a single or a few verses many have misused it to even attack other felloww believers if we really held it as highly as we say we would never dare do this and yet it happens all the time

But remember also his sheep know his voice he speaks to us all the time not just in his written word but in everything there have been times when Jesus himself would just appear to me or speak out loud to me not because I was reading his word but because I was actively seeking it in everything and he can and does do this with everyone if they only know how to listen.

If you had a real life conversation with Jesus right now what do you imagine he would say to you? what hidden truths would he reveal if you asked him? And also I highly doubt he came here looking for followers because you have seen the responses he got and yet he has not moved in his stance anyone wanting followers would speak to itching ears not to ears that few if any would receive

Jesus does talk to my heart all the time - I just don't feel the need to tell anyone or everyone about it. I don't hear anything audible, but I can recognize His voice. The Lord doesn't show or tell me anything that deviates from what He already inspired in the Bible.

That is always good to hear and yeah I did notice he was banned.
I had a feeling he would be soon enough, but honestly if he is indeed a false prophet or teacher then we could have easily proven it with the written word. And anyways I confronted him directly after a few back and forths with everyone and he said he wasn't a prophet just speaking what he has heard from Jesus himself
To be fair there is nothing inherently wrong with that but I also don't think it is a safe avenue to traverse and I let him know as such but he got banned before he could respond back

Because it is better to disprove a false prophet or teacher with scripture than to not do so just because they won't receive it and you never know how far each action really goes in the hearts of people
