A lot has happened in two years. Yes things are pretty much settled in here.
I am surprised by how many Churches are in the small villages around here.
There is a wave of Revival in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.
Thailand is a nice vacation for a lot of people, which is different than Living here.Thailand looks like a great place to visit. What are the things you like about it the most?

What I like most about Thailand is the People. They are all connected and very kind. This also applies to Local and Kingdom Government. These people Genuinely Love and Care for one another. This country is Beautiful and still very "Wild" as in Untouched Jungle.
Down side? The Food. Thai food is amazing, but its not what Im used to. Thai Food can ware you out. So every couple of months we drive west 400K to Chiang Mai for western food and a change. I can also buy a lot of western food online so its not a Big Deal.
Being an "Expat" with a Retirement "Non Immigration Visa" I report to Thai Immigration every 90 days. This is mainly to keep track of where I live. Every Year an Immigration Agent visits our Farm in Fang Min(its very remote). The agent always asks "Are You Happy Here In Thailand"? It turns into a social visit but they document the fact that I do live here on the farm and my US passport is still Valid. This information is shared with the US Embassy. One of the things that used to happen and Im sure some of you have heard it, is that" Uncle So n So, disappeared in Thailand and they took all his Money". This didnt happen the way the Urban Legend gets repeated. In the past the Thai Govt. didnt keep track of Expats, they just left you alone. So being retired Uncle So n So spent the rest of his life happy and since there was no internet, his family forgot about him till they went looking for Money, Inheritance ect. So relatives contact the US Embassy here and they inquire. Since Thailand never kept records on Foreigners the information gaps lead to suspicions and changes here. Evey year I renew my Visa and document my Income. My income is not taxed by Thailand.

I doubt Ill ever leave Thailand. Im developing My Thai wifes farm. Yes Things are a lot cheaper here. Its not just the 32to1 exchange rate, things are not inflated with Greed here. Health care is cheap and first rate. Last year I spent 3 days in the Cardiac ICU in Nan. Total price 500 USD. Im sure the US price would have been over 20,000 USD. I have Health Ins with my Pension, so I file and get re imbursed. Meds are the same price as Mexico. Lunch is around 1.50 USD just for an Idea to compare the cost of living.That's great that you enjoyed living there! I'm also glad that the Thai Govt. is keeping track of expats now. Its been nonstop work since I arrived. Lots of jungle clearing and reshaping the land for crops like Durian. I built the Machine shed on top this hill in the first 6 months. Since then Ive dug Irrigation storage ponds and irrigation systems for around 6 Rie by hand. I brought in 3 phase power, then built a fresh water filter plant for the House

My family has property in the Philippines but I'm not sure what God wants us to do with it. I personally want to sell it all off, but I noticed with God, if He doesn't want a property of ours to sell, no deal will go through or no buyers. From my experience, a property gets sold when He's good and ready about it.
I would really like to live in the mountains because the weather up there is mild - doesn't get too hot or cold. The air feels cleaner and the views are so beautiful! The only thing is, they're not as developed as the cities. In some areas of the mountains, I may have to buy whole 10 gallon bottles of water every so often, for example. And some of the roads aren't fully developed so that you have proceed with caution.
I would keep the Land in PI, God may have plans for it. PI was my first consideration. But I met a Thai Widow and we clicked. Yes we own a 20 Rie farm. We have chickens, Ducks, Geese, Coconuts, Bananas, Two types of Mangos, large Grapefruit many different types of Thai fruit trees, Sweet and Sour Tamarind trees, and Lots of Durian. All that fruit and poultry sounds so nice! I can't blame you for not wanting to ever leave Thailand. Also, you can visit the beautiful resorts Thailand has with your wife without having to pay for airfare!
Maybe I should ask God if He wants us to get some property in the mountains in the Philippines. There's this village that Del Monte owns and it's pretty well developed and cute. But it may be just for their employees. Or just something there abouts. I'll see....
