When I think of "fairness", I think about God sending His only Son to die in MY place. The bigger picture makes what little the Word asks of me a no brainer and I don't want to grumble about it like a child on a playground.

It is funny, I must admit :) However, my point stands. Appealing to ourselves isn't a good way to determine what we ought to and ought not to do.

The worst chirstians is the ones that confuse others that wants to come to faith... If people will just accept the Word as it is written. But no, they twist it so that God fits into their church. They do not adapt to fit God's will, they adapt God's word to fit their sin.

How many of these Word-twisters are on equal terms with Paul, let alone Jesus! No they are just sinners trying to justify their sin by twisting the Word. Well God said there are only two kinds of people, some who GATHER WITH HIM, and others who DEVIDE.

My wife does not have to say a WORD to show her ONENESS with me, I do not have to say a WORD to show Jesus in ME! Talking is not the witness....A HOLY LIFE is. what sin did PAul commit? Please SHOW me in the Bible, what sin did Paul commit! Do not quote the part where he said the things i do not want to di that I do.... SHOW ME THE THINGS he did that is sin! If you cannot, maybe you should also be quiet! If you can be very sure you know what you say, because I will ask you more questions to show you you are a fool indeed if you think Paul could sin AFTER he was filled with the Holy Spirit!

So should women be quiet in church, YES! and so should the MEN that cannot understand why women should be quiet. So before you want to SHOW me why women can talk, show me Paul's sin AFTER he was an Apostle!

When we condemn something as wrong, or praise it as right, we need to do so on a scriptural basis. Not on a human basis.

ok.. so where in the Bible does it say that women are not part of the Kingdom and are not born of the royal blood of Christ.. you must be reading a differnt bible

I cannot believe the way you take our comments and take great quantum leaps in your analysis of what we have said.

No-one has said that women are not part of the kingdom of God. Of course they are. All we are saying is that the Bible reveals that men and women have different roles to play WITHIN THE KINGDOM. We are ALL a royal priesthood meaning we can all come before the Royal throne of grace and pray. We are ALL ambassadors for Christ. We just simply have different roles and different giftings within the body, but God ordained men to be the spiritual leaders within the church over other men. Spiritual women should be the leaders over other women - but not over men!!!

Just as a man is to be the spiritual leader within his household (over his wife), so should men be the spiritual leaders within the church (over their own wives plus everyone else's too :p)

I'm actually quite surprised that men seem to be having a more difficult time accepting that women should shush at church than the women on here are. It's just not that big of a deal!

Hey, guys and gals, the last dozen or so replies have had little or nothing to do with the subject matter of my Original Post. Let's try to keep the content of your posts reasonably close to the topic of my OP - shown below. Thank you - Albina

I'm having a problem of sorts with 1 Corinth 14:34-35 which basically states that we gals ought to keep our mouths shut:

"As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church"

I am interested in the opinions of those CC members who believe in the inerrancy of the Bible (and those who don't)...what's your "take" on the above?

Remember in the book Ecclesiastes when Solomon said that women are foolish.. that was clearly just solomon's opinion...one again this is clear case of misappropriation of scripture

why if you tell us that bazillions of times u wont be right still.

Also read 1:2 also.

its because women know how to influence people without standing in the spotlight.

JESUS should be the MAN in charge. I wonder why so many people want to place themselves over others instead of point towards JESUS and His leadership?

how many do it cuz they desire the power, position, prestige? How many are actually called unwilling to the position and entrusted with God's flock and given the Divine unction to preach or pastor or teach or minister in any way to His body?

I always wonder why the fuss, why not just do what God made us all to do. Do we not at times minister to others as in give aid to them? is it all about AUTHORITY or is it about LOVE? Who really cares about title? who cares as long as GOD's will and work is done? I just don't get it.
