It is with genuine trepidation that I am starting this thread. I recently lost someone I cared about while trying to discuss this very thing. I honestly do not know what exactly to believe at this point and I am not, repeat, not asking to be told what to believe. I do not find in the Bible where everyonel is guaranteed healing and I do not see where God has some kind of quota on how much faith it takes to be healed. Obviosuly then, I am not in agreement with the WOF people. I don't care to be told that it is my fault if I am not healed (ps I am not waiting for a miracle of healing the convo I had involved someone that really needed healing) I have experienced a good number of what I guess I will call 'God interventions' and I certainly have the faith to ask God anything and we are encouraged to pour out our hearts to Him...love that verse in the Psalms

I cannot control this thread or demand people do not get all hot and bothered by what someone else says but for the love of God (literally I am not swearing), please try to be the person you demand others to be. I sure hope sincere and intelligent input might be achieved and of course scripture but also opinions and experience, understanding that experience is not proof of anything. It certainly is to the one who experiences it, but we cannot offer that as proof to those who have not.

Okay, so let's take the plunge if you are willing, hoping a few might be. I do have some things to say if the thread develops, so I pray that you can help me resolve some of what I currently am thinking about and even feeling. Thanks

One more thing though, I really dislike trite answers and people talking down to others so if that is your thing, I doubt I will respond but I am sure you will offend someone else enough to do it for me ;) Oh and videos mocking others or 'exposing' faith healers are also just plain dumb as I can view those myself any ole good time I want. I've probably not seen it all, but I have seen enough.

I understand what you're trying to say, and you aught to know that you're not alone at all.
Just keep praying and cleaving to God. He has his eyes on the broken hearted.
No matter how deep in evil you are, as long as you seek him he will pull you out. For me, it's been gradual.
Just know that the platform you stand on through faith in Jesus' name will take you to the next world, where these problems will be no more.

I can relate.

After this opened Job his mouth, and cursed his day. (Job 3:1)
And Job spake, and said, (Job 3:2)
Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived. (Job 3:3)
Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it. (Job 3:4)
Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let a cloud dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it. (Job 3:5)
As for that night, let darkness seize upon it; let it not be joined unto the days of the year, let it not come into the number of the months. (Job 3:6)
Lo, let that night be solitary, let no joyful voice come therein. (Job 3:7)
Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to raise up their mourning. (Job 3:8)
Let the stars of the twilight thereof be dark; let it look for light, but have none; neither let it see the dawning of the day: (Job 3:9)
Because it shut not up the doors of my mother's womb, nor hid sorrow from mine eyes. (Job 3:10)
Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly? (Job 3:11)
Why did the knees prevent me? or why the breasts that I should suck? (Job 3:12)
For now should I have lain still and been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest, (Job 3:13)

Wherefore is light given to him that is in misery, and life unto the bitter in soul; (Job 3:20)
Which long for death, but it cometh not; and dig for it more than for hid treasures; (Job 3:21)
Which rejoice exceedingly, and are glad, when they can find the grave? (Job 3:22)
Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom God hath hedged in? (Job 3:23)

I have been waanting my eyes healed for a long time now ever since 2016 when my eyes started to go bad people have prayed for me I have prayed and still no healing I have tried the wof thing but still no healing I have asked God why over and over again.

The thing is before my eyes went bad I said to him I don't need these eyes to see because I want to see with yours I told him I would give up these eyes if I could just see with your eyes well two years later my eyes got infected and started going blind in fact I almost went completely blind.

to this day I sometimes wonder if healing is even real not just because of my eyes but because I have not seen any healing done for anyone. But for me personally I believe I cannot receive it because there is a lesson to be learned in it and until that lesson is learned I don't think I can ever have my sight again

Or perhaps I got exactly what I asked for the question is did I actually receieve the eyes I wanted?

I was not well when I was first saved. I had a chronic ailment due to years of alcohol abuse - I was not quite 21. A few weeks after I was saved, I met some people who were from Teen Challenge, who had just started up in Australia. When I could, I attended some of their meetings. At one meeting, the pastor who led the ministry had a word of knowledge. It was obvious that it was for me. He described the symptoms exactly. He prayed for me and I was healed instantly.

That night, another chronic health issue surfaced. I was still buzzing from the first healing so I prayed for myself. The condition lifted and has never returned. This was over 50 years ago.

I have been sick and recovered naturally, sick with the intervention of the medical profession and sick and been healed immediately. I've looked into why this should be so and this is how I see it.

The first thing to know is that God does not make us sick. Sickness and sin are intertwined (Psalm 103:3).
Healing is not automatic. Both Trophimus and Epaphroditus were ill. Could Paul not have prayed healing for them both? Yes, but he did not.
Sickness can be used to keep us from pride (2 Corinthians 12:7)
Sickness may be a consequence of sin. Be very slow to judge people who are not well. I said "maybe", not "is". (1 Corinthians 11:30)
Sickness can be a result of overwork, as with Epaphras (Philippians 2:25-30). Some believe that Epaphras and Epaphroditus are the same person.

The problem with many Christians is that they are too strong in themselves. God allows sickness to show us that we are not as good as we think we are.

We need to remember that God works all things together for our good. That includes sickness. We should not seek to be ill or pretend to be well when we are not. Sickness can be a cop out for people who are trying to avoid responsibility or a situation they don't want to be in. God's will is that we be in health. Jesus healed all who came to Him. But there may be a season of illness that God can use to bless us.

Fantastic testimony and sp true as well. You certainly speak truth and I was blessed reading this

I believe all who believe in God will also believe that God can heal any medical affliction..
So while i do believe it is essential to have faith in Gods ability to heal us i do not believe having faith in Gods ability to heal us insures that a Christian will recieve healing after asking God for it..
I believe a healing depends on Gods will, if it is a part of His will for your to recieve a healing then you will be healed..

I have personally taken part in the healing of two people in person that i know of.. One that i prayed for was healed while i was praying for them and the other person was healed the moment i laid hands upon them.. I have prayed for my own healing on a number of occasions and i have experienced no healing I still have chronic diabetes and it seems i will have it to the day i die.. So be it. His will be done.. I accept the will of God.. We can ask for anything and we should accept His will no matter what..

Oh and WOF.. I have never been a WOF believer.. Prayer is a request to God, it is not some kind of Order that God must carry out..

Oh Edit.. A third instance of healing has just come to my mind that i took part in.. A little girl who was in pain.. I remember the look of shock in her eyes when she was healed.. She looked at a cup of water i had got for her and exclaimed It's the water..,, It was so cute :giggle: you just had to be there..

suggestions: 1st John 3:20-22 "if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart & knoweth all things. beloved, IF OUR HEART CONDEMN US NOT, THEN HAVE WE CONFIDENCE TOWARD GOD AND WHATSOEVER WE ASK, WE SHALL RECEIVE OF HIM BECAUSE WE KEEP HIS COMMANDEMENTS & DO THOSE THING THAT ARE PLEASING IN HIS SIGHT"! generally, we shouldn't expect answers to petitions when we are engaged in willful sin & or, not trying to improve the forsaking of sins. you can apply this to hebrews 11:6: "but without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he that cometh to God must believe that He is & that HE IS A REWARDER OF THEM THAT DILIGENTLY SEEK HIM". 1st, we don't get good things or receive healing because we performed good works or that we have just plain been good. it is God's grace, always that He will choose to abound, when He wants which is always the perfect time. a lesson for all of us: God's timing is perfect, He knows what's best for us, He does what's best for us". John 14:13, 14: "and whatsoever you ask in my name, that will I do, that the father may be glorified thru the Son. IF YOU SHALL ASK ANYTHING, I WILL DO IT". the last sentence certainly sounds like we can ask for anything & receive it. but no. before, it say, "AND WHATSOEVER YOU ASK IN MY NAME"! lot's of people misunderstand this. i believe healing is in God's name, physical healing. there's no sign that healing has stopped. listen to Kenneth Hagin who some call the "father of modern day healing". he has many cd's on healing. Jesus has performed miracles on me. a pinched nerve, a smash on my thumb from a hammer, a pinky finger issue, a back problem & more. it is immensely tough to handle life's events without answers from God. we've been all been thru it. it's always easier to tell someone this or that but the person experiencing the hurt seemingly has no where to go. not true because believers have Jesus. i was born with eye problems & it's not fun in any way, shape or form but i know i will see perfectly in heaven & we'e getting closer every day!! praise the Lord Jesus!!!! i hope this helps. blessings to you.

What is your post?

So, sorry for your loss
I have experienced much loss myself. And I know not easy to get through any loss.
My first loss, my youngest sister, she was 18 died on and overdose in san Francisco, Ca. Hade Ashbury in 1971.
Floored, devastated, I have learned much since. I do not understand why she died or if even had to die. I was 14 years old when she died.
This I stood with, and could not deny God, even though upset deeply over it. I have conjectured much since and settled much from it, and stand in trust to God over it all still, like a Job person. I simply will not deny God. Still do not understand why, she had to die, at an early young age, even if she had to. Free choices make the best or worse of us all.
Since the first death, my Dad, three years later, then my Eldest brother. Then my Mother.
How, to deal for me has been to not give up on God loves us all.
A book called the Shack I read, now a movie has really helped me deal
Hope it somehow gets to you to read or watch, I find many Gold Nuggets for peace in the midst of adversities
I search for anything good out of anything bad that happens or has

Praying for healing is tough, he may say yes, no, or not right now. All you can do is continue to pray... I pray for healing everday for my myriad of issues.. pray the persistent widow.

Any circumstance that's miserable is evil to me.

Well it would be best if you did not project your personal thoughts or feelings onto other people. You are really off the mark here and I can't say it any nicer.

Well Job is quite the book and I am not sure he ever had his questions answered but he was faithful to God through all of it. I question why some Christians think they can just dump on other Christians all in the name of being 'helpful' the way Jobs 'friends' did. Often enough it is more comforting to just listen and not try to offer unsolicited advice and then get angry when it is not accepted. Moving along, I am actually just trying to understand about healing although I am sure God is always willing but to blame people if they are not healed occasions me to think that those who believe that way, are perhaps afraid to let any other circumstance bear honest inspection. God does not mind questions. Again though, the healing did not involve me but the conversation was about my faith and if I accept what the Bible says or not. If a person is not sure of something, condemnation is not going to help at all and that is all I received from someone who wonders why people do not accept the way they speak to them.

I'm not even really hurt but I am kind of bewildered about it all. God reveals the heart, both our own and of others if we are just honest before Him about all of it. I ask alot of questions and always have so just trying to ask others here because it does give more to think about. Thanks
