Florida taxpayers paid a Lot of money ,a quarter of a billion dollars,an it was estimated to cost 450 million a year to run it.
NOW a federal judge has ruled that they got to close it down in 60 days and it's going to cost 15 to 20 million to shut it down.

Could have been entirely avoided if over 14 million people were not welcomed into this country. A federal judge is a district judge. Learn the difference. The Supreme court already said that these wanna be kings and queens do not have the authority to shut down the federal gov. The Democrats may be speed bumps but they are not the whole road.
But do go ahead and tell us where all the money spent on millions who have no legal standing in the country has come from.

Florida appeals judge's preliminary injunction
Speculation about the future of the facility also has been fueled by an Associated Press report last week about an email exchange between state Division of Emergency Management Director Kevin Guthrie and a South Florida rabbi. Guthrie said during the exchange, "We are probably going to be down to 0 individuals within a few days" at the Everglades facility, the AP reported..
But state and federal officials have asked the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to issue a stay of Williams' preliminary injunction, which came in a lawsuit filed by environmental groups and joined by the Miccosukee Tribe. If such a stay is issued, it would put the order on hold until the appeals court can rule on underlying issues in the case.
Tuesday's filing, which was part of a separate lawsuit about the detention center, indicated the state plans to begin ramping up operations at the facility if a stay is issued.
Gov. Ron DeSantis and other state officials have said they built the facility this summer to help President Donald Trump's efforts to deport people in the country illegally. But the facility has been hit with three major legal challenges, including the lawsuit filed June 27 by Friends of the Everglades and the Center for Biological Diversity and joined later by the Miccosukee Tribe.
That lawsuit contends state and federal officials violated the National Environmental Policy Act, a federal law that requires evaluating potential environmental impacts before projects can move forward. The groups and the Miccosukee Tribe argue that the facility, which is surrounded by the Big Cypress National Preserve, poses a series of threats to the environment. link
There was a pre-existing runway at the location so the 'environmental' objections are more like obstructions. The only threat to the environment in this case are the illegals which the current admin is trying to return to their place of origin. As far as Florida panthers go, they are often enough killed on highways. Maybe plow up the highways. How about black bears? A black bear cull may be in the works in FL because people do not like to see them in places other than a zoo. Wild pigs? Kill 'em all. Racoons? Rabid. All of em so kill all of em. Possums? they come out at night so they must be dangerous but lets not mention that they eat ticks and do not get rabies and also eat snakes. Kill em. Armadillos? what they hee haw. One had the nerve to dig in my garden. Kill em.
The hypocrisy is so over the top that new levels have been achieved and an award show is in the works. Oh. Don't forget the pythons though. They have overrun the everglades and killed more wildlife than a volcanoe, hurricane, sink hole, tornadoe, or earthquake all happening at the same time for a run of two days straight. Now those things really are a threat to the environment.

Does this mean you approve of all the criminal illegals let in by the last admin? Do you approve of American women being raped and worse by some of these people? Are you good with children being trafficked and 13 yr olds being used as whores for the pleasure of sick men? You good with that? Yeah? If not, try to find something you may be missing and stand up for what is right and not politically evil and seriously twisted.
Mr Desantis is not waiting for your opinion and I certainly am not concerned either other than the fact that you seem to need a fresh look at the evil being performed on children let alone adults. There is no excuse for overlooking that or thinking because Trump is doing something about it you need to give it a smackdown.
Hardly seems worth it. Sounds like a publicity stunt. There has to be a more cost-effective way to housing these dangerous criminals. Liberal federal judges always trying to thwart deportations of the criminal illegals.
Hundreds have been both housed and then deported and that is why the left is looooosing it. Again
