It is with genuine trepidation that I am starting this thread. I recently lost someone I cared about while trying to discuss this very thing. I honestly do not know what exactly to believe at this point and I am not, repeat, not asking to be told what to believe. I do not find in the Bible where everyonel is guaranteed healing and I do not see where God has some kind of quota on how much faith it takes to be healed. Obviosuly then, I am not in agreement with the WOF people. I don't care to be told that it is my fault if I am not healed (ps I am not waiting for a miracle of healing the convo I had involved someone that really needed healing) I have experienced a good number of what I guess I will call 'God interventions' and I certainly have the faith to ask God anything and we are encouraged to pour out our hearts to Him...love that verse in the Psalms
I cannot control this thread or demand people do not get all hot and bothered by what someone else says but for the love of God (literally I am not swearing), please try to be the person you demand others to be. I sure hope sincere and intelligent input might be achieved and of course scripture but also opinions and experience, understanding that experience is not proof of anything. It certainly is to the one who experiences it, but we cannot offer that as proof to those who have not.
Okay, so let's take the plunge if you are willing, hoping a few might be. I do have some things to say if the thread develops, so I pray that you can help me resolve some of what I currently am thinking about and even feeling. Thanks
One more thing though, I really dislike trite answers and people talking down to others so if that is your thing, I doubt I will respond but I am sure you will offend someone else enough to do it for me

Oh and videos mocking others or 'exposing' faith healers are also just plain dumb as I can view those myself any ole good time I want. I've probably not seen it all, but I have seen enough.
There are a few observations I would make regarding this thread.
Firstly, that God does not want to heal all the sick because I observe that not many of the sick are healed, or that I have not been healed, is an example of an inference fallacy, an invalid inference to draw from the data.

A person may want/will something to be fixed, but choose to educate and equip someone else to do the fixing - to train them to become a proficient fixer through practical experience - rather than to always do all the fixing for the other person. If the delegated fixer misunderstands or distrusts the trainer's teaching, or chooses not to follow the trainer's instructions, then a healing the trainer wants/wills to happen will not to happen. We cannot logically infer from a lack of fixing that the trainer wants the object to remain unfixed.
Secondly, Jesus said that faith as grain of mustard seed is enough to remove a mountain or a sycamine tree and cast it into the sea. So, the quota for faith Jesus set was minute. However, we also see that, even though a miracle requires faith only as a grain of mustard seed, if that faith is counteracted with unbelief/doubt, then the miracle can be prevented.
Mat 17:19
Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said,
Why could not we cast him out?
Mat 17:20
And Jesus said unto them,
Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
The disciples clerly had faith, because they tried to cast out the demon as they had done so many times before. But when they saw the storm the demon whipped up in the boy, unbelief rose up and prevented the miracle.
Luk 17:5
And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
Luk 17:6
And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
Mat 21:21
Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you,
If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this
which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
Mar 11:23
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea;
and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Our culture has marinated us in so many beliefs that are antithetical to God's truth, that when we try to believe God's word our faith is almost always mixed with doubt, making the faith unfruitful. So, wE need to get rid of all notions that conflict with God's word and engender doubt that will oppose our faith. But that is something we must do, as Jesus instructs us to do, in order for us to see the results of an overcoming mustard seed of faith. Few Christians are willing to be that odd-ball in their beliefs and to suffer the ignominy that would come from friends and family for not embracing the medical beliefs that have been declared "settled science".
