Musk, to me, is someone who DOES have issues with public speaking like Zucherberg. Both are geniuses in their field but are a bit slow in social interactions. Especially Zuch. Have you seen him speak in congress?
But i'm not sure if they are anything other than 'shy', because most geeks are shy. And geeks usually have higher intelligence too. That's why they make things like Facebook, Microsoft, Tesla, Paypal etc.
Geeks did these things with one enhanced personality trait which is extreme focus on a topic.
It may be shyness, but I know I've been able to speak coherently before without much interuption. He does speak softly and with a lot of thought into his words, which would I say is a trait, but I wouldn't chalk everything about his speech up to a condition.
Not no be an accuser, but I think there's a discernable difference whether someone's speaking presumtuously/lying or speaking the truth.
When someone's speaking passionately, they're speaking fluidly without much hiccups. When someone's speaking to make themselves look good, they're doing the "umm"'s and "uuh"'s and "so, uhh"'s every other word they speak.

THANK YOU!
I notice the same thing about people, does that mean i have Aspergers too? :D
That's why it's more honest to say 'i don't know' for the things that you don't and speak with passion for the things you DO know where the speech flows like a river.

I am curious to hear more about this from you.
What you were quoting/replying to was:

dealing with screaming all day with out medication, that I can fathom.
But please tell me more about dealing with head banging before medication was made (or even now with medications on the market)
For an autistic person who is having an uncontrollable meltdown and head banging it can become a seriously dangerous situation. I'd like to hear more about it being successfully dealt with without/before meds.
Thanks.

this is a great point.

Aspergers is, as far as I can tell, having more things going on through your imagination and senses than what words are able to describe. Imagine being in two worlds at once, and one of them was something only you could see, and it was constantly changing and flowing like water, and as much as it could get fanatical, it also boiled down the material world to its most basic components; not seeing things as a 'toyota camary', or a 'macbook pro', but seeing the body of the car for its form, and mindful of the engine, the transmission, the internal components and all their movement, seeing them in your head as they operate, and wondering how to make each individual peice into a new thing; and then for the computer, minding all of its circuitry and code and hidden ways of operating.

Thank you again!
You see this is why I ask, so people can define in their own words what they think a “condition” that a doctor made up, means.
What you said right here can be simply described as being a Deep Thinker.
This is how Einstein saw reality before he came up with the theory of relativity.
So you don’t have Asbergers maybe? :D

God is one, and that's all there is.

Eli i really don't understand you on one point you agree that autism is real because of how intelligent they are but on another you completely deny that they even exist or there need for treatment other then mild causes like Elon are not the definition of the whole.

I’m actually trying to agree with you and others by asking you to define what autism is so then I can ask follow up questions which involve medications.
If you tell me that autism is speech delays in children then everything else becomes a behavioral trait which is NOT a disease.
And if you tell me that Autism IS a behavioral condition then it further proves, to me at least, that the doctors have made this whole thing up.
They want to control behavior. They want everyone on the same wavelength.
But God gives everyone in this world gifts which are NOT problems as a modern doctor would like to define them.

So this whole discussion depends on how YOU define Autism.
Google defines it as a behavioral issue which to me proves that it’s made up.
But you and Heishere classified it as a more biological issue which in that case changes everything. Because some people are born with some unfortunate biological issues. And for those we can talk about meds.
But if you want to control or modify behavior? With meds?
That is simply wrong.

Well, I've never thought about all that since we have lived through it. It definitely seems hereditary, but it is also a behavioral issue, mostly caused by overstimulation, which means it has something to do with the nervous system, resulting in anxiety

anxiety and nervous conditions can inherited. Research indicates that genetics can play a significant role in the likelihood of developing anxiety disorders

You know, the bible does have quite a few clues about the different personalites of faith in God.
The blessings in Genesis 49 and deuteronomy 33 apply to us.

Aspergers is not a diagnosis any longer, and has not been for years, it is now called high functioning autism.

As i was reading this sentence, everything looked great in the beginning. Like driving on a brand new paved road, smooth riding and very enjoyable.
Then i reached the end where you said (high functioning autism) and it felt like i hit a huge pothole, car broke in half and the airbag came on.

Is Autism a birth-related speech issue or a behavioral issue?
Then we might attempt to ask what 'high functioning autism' is.

Autism is not regarded as a cognitive disability.

Thank you.
From what i'm understanding from you and Daisy, which i agree with, you're both saying that it's more of an issue with biology itself which can affect the brain and not a behavioral issue as in 'in this country we do things this way and in that country we do things another way'.
The conditions that you are describing (based on biology) are also legit valid issues in other countries too, where in some cases they give medication too.
I learned something new today, because Google says that Autism is a behavioral issue (which i don't agree with) but if it's a biological issue then this is valid in many places in the world.

The point of this discussion is to understand how certain ideologies (to link this to politics now) can affect the medical profession.

I'm so lost o_O ...

because my notifications thingy hasn't been notifying me to come here, so I have to go back and read/reread some things before jumping in too much on this.

I will say though that there are some posts here that while I'm reading I have to check and make sure I'm not in BDF

He could really have Einsteins Syndrome and fall somewhere within the genius spectrum.

You put your hands on the child and deal with them compassionately; not with force or ferocity.
Let them bang their head against your own soft body until they learn it's a useless cumpulsive habit, and if it's not that easy, find a way to make it fun for them. The goal is to remove all desire for self-harm.
By all means cause them to make you a living example of how they should behave. Message and hug them while manipulating their bodies to be at peace, and I'm sure they'll eventually come into into sanity naturally. Maybe 'different' than most people, but completely functional.
At the last family gathering celebrating Labor Day, when my grandson arrived at my mom and dad's cookout and experienced a meltdown when everyone looked at and greeted them. His mother scooped him up and took him away from the crowd and when I followed them, his dad, my son, went to, and so did my mom. This only exasperated the situation as he saw he was still receiving the unwanted attention (I suspect that ma triggered the second episode as he is not as familiar with her but it's really hard to tell really). But, to distract him from bunny slapping his ma while she tried to comfort him, I exclaimed, "hey look, a bug!" and pointed in the general direction of the roses. This abruptly stopped the meltdown and procured his interest in the whereabouts of this bug sighting... and then he was fine the rest of the time and even approached and mingled with the crowd (the kids) in the backyard of his own volition.

Agreed.
I work with the Gen Z folks and sometimes during work lunches this subject comes up and then i start to ask questions.
Who told you have this condition which i can't even pronounce?
Oh well ... i did some 'research' (online basically) and i'm sure i have it.
You sure you have it? So you have not seen a doctor and you think you have something? Why?

Sometimes i challenge them on their incorrect usage of the words DM vs PM but that's another story.

Brain/Neurological damage can cause behavioral changes in people.
This is well documented in cases where people have suffered head trauma.

AI gives a good breakdown, I just checked, not sure why you keep saying it states it is solely a behavioral issue
