No that's not right, the boy obviously needs a pill and a label. I remember when I was a kid my mom would tell us to go outside and play.

That DSM IV is a dangerous book. I have the Dsm III around here somewhere and I wont read it any more. You can walk away from reading that book without feeling like hey that sounds like me at some point. According to the DSM the entire country has a disorder of some sort. You havent been diagnosed yet? Which hand do you use to wipe in the bathroom? Left? Oh you need a pill! what if I said my right? Oh that's a different pill. Lol!

I'm epileptic and get my anti-seizure meds at the doctor. One time when getting a new prescription from them they also gave me an extra prescription without one word ever said about it. Gaba Pentin or something like that. I looked it up and it said they're anti depressants so I threw it away. I'm not depressed and they always always ask me if I am depressed. I always tell them the same thing. The Lord takes good care of me and I am retired from my secular job, so what do I have to be depressed about?! Last time I was there and she asked me again if I've been depressed and I said, don't you ever write anything down?

It's like they want me to be depressed. Chomping at the bit to get me on pills for it, lol! That strikes me as underhanded, even if there is nothing except pure greed driving it. If I started taking anti depressants then that in itself is evidence of depression per se. so then what? One day they say, anyone who has ever been on anti depressants or psyche drugs is no longer allowed to own weapons? she asked me once if I need the gabapentin refilled! Like she owns me! I said oh I never took any of those I pitched the scrip out, lol. they can keep their drugs. I find myself more skeptical of all new prescriptions, new products and so forth than I have ever been before.

You Brothers & Sisters should be careful and look up any new prescriptions they give you and be very sure what it is before you take it in this day & age.
 
I saw Tom Cruise in some sort of interview and he went off on a rant about Psychiatry and was freaking out about it and made him self look like an idiot. But he just happened to be right about what he was saying. There is no such thing as a chemical imbalance in the brain, that is Psychiatry's lie.

We can't see a chemical imbalance, here this will fix it take this...?? They dont want mental health, they want mental illness so they can treat you with high dollar psych drugs. Once a mental illness patient, always a mental illness patient? Ok I get it, the doctors are te pseudo authority and want to make a lot of money for their families, and they prolly only have an inkling if that of what all those new drugs really do to people.

Yep, one time when I went to the doc I said, hey doc, you know all those commercials everywhere that say ask you doctor if this pill is right for you? And she said, yes. so I said, which pill is right for me? (like it was a real question)

Now in time release or liquid forms also!

When I was young and went to the doctor they said, what can we do for you today? Nowadays medical isn't like that anymore it's you get upsell on every visit from a checklist. It's the government and their subsides that they throw around and if you do it our way you can make big money mr doctor. So medicine is a checklist now and all politicized. so the doctors are getting rich at our expense while the entire nation is become as welfare recipients for medical care. They want to control every aspect of our lives and I'm about done with doctors anyway since I met Jehovah Rapha, the lord our Healer.

Social skills are a learned behaviour, this takes a normal functioning brain to learn these skills.

I understand English may not be your first language, but the brain is part of the neurological system, biology tends to refer to the genetic makeup of a person.
While there may be a biological component it is important to understand that it is the brain which is affected.
 
Autism could also be the result of a blood disease of type o mothers. As it it's the most common blood group for these disoders.

First of all this isn’t about how well I know English but it’s about you who claims to be an expert on this field and if you are able to explain to an English speaking audience (who are not experts) the details of autism.

So to recap based on what you said here, unless you want to revise it, it means that an impaired biological system caused by an accident or genetic factors, has difficulties to participate in human behavior with other biological systems which are not affected by an accident or other genetic markers.
 
Autism is a very complicated disorder many different things can cause it with the same result.
 
Okay lets talk about medication ---- prozac was the one we used. Prozac (fluoxetine) is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that is sometimes prescribed to individuals with autism to manage symptoms such as anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, and irritability. It works by increasing serotonin levels in the brain, which can help improve mood and emotional regulation.

However, clinical studies show mixed results on its effectiveness specifically for autism. Some trials indicate fluoxetine may reduce obsessive-compulsive behaviors and anxiety symptoms in children and adults with autism, while other well-controlled studies find little difference from placebo. I think these that it doesn't help might have normal brain chemistry but have symptoms of autism but may not be autism or very mild cases.

autism involves atypical brain chemistry that affects neural communication, brain development, and behavioral regulation. These neurochemical differences provide insights into the biological basis of autism

but they're supposed to yeild the same result of the simple commandments of Gods law.

It just seems to me that de facto lobotomies ought to be a last resort solution rather than the knee jerk reactive treatment that it seems to have become in these days.

I am defending the parents and their choices and it is not about you or more.

You heap on guilt on people who already dealing with much guilt, sorrow and pain.

I find that very troubling, calling medication lobotomy is just wrong.

Medications are mind altering chemicals administered to 'inhibit' certain thinking, are they not?

I hope as a specialist you are explaining clearly to the patients all the facts, data, risks, successes and failure rates so they can make a choice, right?
