Press Release Attorney General Bondi, Director Patel Statements Regarding Indictment of Former FBI Director James Comey

Today, a federal grand jury has charged former FBI Director James Comey with serious crimes related to the disclosure of sensitive information.

The indictment alleges that Comey obstructed a congressional investigation into the disclosure of sensitive information in violation of 18 USC 1505.

The indictment also alleges that Comey made a false statement in violation of 18 USC 1001. Comey stated that he did not authorize someone at the FBI to be an anonymous source. According to the indictment that statement was false.

“No one is above the law,” said Attorney General Pamela Bondi. “Today’s indictment reflects this Department of Justice’s commitment to holding those who abuse positions of power accountable for misleading the American people. We will follow the facts in this case.”

This feels like a slap on the wrist to me, like Bondi is trying for the lightest charges possible to make it look like they're doing 'something'. Wasn't Comey responsible for russiagate, lying about Hunter's laptop, who knows what else?

On a side note: I seriously do not like Bondi as AG. If Trump hadn't put a fire under her butt recently, she would have allowed the statute of limitations to run out for Comey. I hope she proves me wrong.

I knew someone that was with the FBI for years.
When they found out Comey was being promoted to Director,they retired rather than be his subordinate.

That tells you something. Especially since this person was recruited right out of High School and went to work there as soon as they turned 18.

Establishing law and order, prosecuting crime, and dealing out proper punishment brings true stability. It also reduces crime when criminals know they will suffer actual consequences. Governments are within their God-given right to do all of those things. Again, ignoring crime and placating criminals allows lawlessness and chaos to continue.

Under Biden, crime was normalized, hence the left is now 'shocked' to learn actions have consequences. That's their problem, not mine, and it should never have been allowed to happen in the first place.
