I went in my room and I needed to use my laptop and my sister was messing with me. I told her she can move her plug on the other plug while I can use one of the plugs, and that I cannot remove my phone because I'll be leaving for work and I need to have it fully charged. Well we used to have this conversation smooth but she got angry and said, "OH MY F-G GOD" out loud.

I got so angry I hit her and told her, "Get out of my room! You can curse me, but not my God" and I even said to her, "What do you think you are, Hindu?" cause she said she wasn't referring to Jesus but some god of water. I told her, "Even if you're Catholic and I'm Born-again, our God is the same and you can never, ever use His name in vain." And I was praying in tongues while she was speaking cause I really feel so bad.

I feel bad, cause as Christians we're expected to hold our tempers but I dunno if this is "holy anger" (I heard there's such thing as "holy jealous" LOL) and I had to hit my sister because she cursed at God. I don't want to sin yet I don't want to tolerate that either.

I just feel so bad. Jesus, I'm so sorry. :'( I repent blowing my top.
 
Sometimes my brother tries to anger me purposely, i understand were you are coming.

Ephesians 4:26
Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,

You should apologise and patch things with her before this day ends if you can.

I might be wrong but what you did could be counted as discipline?

We're okay now. She did apologize and I did too... Yeah I don't want her ever to do that again

This is your younger sister right?. Personally, i don't see anything wrong about that.But then again, that's just my thought, i might be wrong!.. By the way, if you've both apologized to each other, then it's OK.. I guess:cool:
 
ok I don't claim to be a bible scholar, far from it to be exact... but I am a Christian and a mother of 6... I have 3 teen daughters (ages 17,14, 13)... and I am in my 30's and have 2 sisters (ages 26 and 14)...

So I have been on both ends (the one in the argument, and the mediator)... so yes the bible say to not to let the sun go down on your anger...

but God gave us our emotions, and Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to guide those emotions... you are human and you are christian... apologize to your sister, calmly explain to her your feelings and then allow her to explain hers, then ask God to give you direction how to respond to it if the situation ever arise again...
 
I'm sorry, thats completely unacceptable. Violence in the name of God? There is NEVER an excuse to hit someone like that. I don't care what they say, and that its a family member... and even more so, a female shows that you have some things to work out. I hold no respect for any man that hits a woman, especially if they try to excuse their behavior as a result of their faith.

Totaly agree.

I live in a non-christian family where that kind of behavior is very very common, even if they don't curse God directly, they do it on a daily basis with other kind of behaviors, indirectly. That sure bothers me , but we can't expect a non-christian to act in a christian way, and we can't force our beliefs on them, that would only push them away. If we were talking about a christian doing that, it would be different thou, but still, we are not supposed to correct our brothers out of anger, but out of love and with a humble attitude.

Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted" Galatians 6:1

...Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. 1 Peter 3:15-16

Correcting our brothers or sisters in Christ is widely mentioned iin the Bible, but correcting a non-believer is not possible...since they are blind and they don't see their faults the same way we do. All we can do is witness to them patiently and pray, and try to teach them some things when it's possible.
I understand that you got angry, but be sure that your anger does not cause you to sin.Try to bring your sister to Christ humbly and kindly, so she may see her faults on her behaviour by observing your righteousness.

I understand guys thanks for the advice and I'm sorry if I hit my sister. I've repented this to God and I pray that next time the Holy Spirit will always be strong in me
