Correct, but you must first have the right beliefs and the right foundation, which will then be the working of your faith. Your faith would then produce good works and show good fruit. If what you believe is in error, then your faith will also be in error, and the works that you perform will be bad, and the fruit you produce will be evil. Therefore yes, you are correct, but you're not addressing it properly. You must first build up a solid belief , a solid foundation which we are able to discern and work with the Holy Spirit to form and established by being observant of the law of love, and then the working of our faith will then transform us and change our nature. So this is about changing your nature through the foundation of your beliefs and the working of your faith. Once your nature as changed then it's no longer you working the law it is now your nature. We also have to know that this is not us who do it. It's God's grace doing it. Through the the working of the holy spirit all truth is reviled to form our foundation, and through gods grace we work our faith. Our nature is changed and we discern our works and fruit to see if we are in the right faith.
“Correct, but you must first have the right beliefs and the right foundation, which will then be the working of your faith…..”
the right faith is to hear and believe the gospel of Jesus Christ the lord ,
“For
the law was given by Moses,
but
grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”
John 1:17
It has nothing to do with Moses law that governs the old covenant.
“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And
the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.”
Galatians 3:10-12 KJV
faith comes from hearing and believing the gospel the law is behind the gospel is here the old is behind the new has come it’s far better . It’s not telling us what not to do as of we are helpless sinners . It’s telling us what to do as of we are cchildren of the living God having our sins completely remitted before him through the death of his son being born again if his holy spirit
Not murderers within wasting to pounce , not thieves waiting to steal or adulterers waiting to commit for ovation who need to constently be told “ don’t do it or you’ll be out to death “
Theres the law of Moses which governs the covenant israel defiled and broke then there’s the gospel which he promised them wouod later come as a new covenant between them and he and it would extend to all the world and be his salvation to the ends of the earth
“Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.”
Isaiah 55:1, 3 KJV
Not the covenant made through Moses but a new one based on the mercies of David. The covenant made at Sinai when they received “Thou shalt nots “ was broken because they continually worshipped false gods and idols throughout the ot
as d he promised to make new covenant not according to the old one he made wo th isreal but a new and better covenant was promised to them
“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that
I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although
I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:”
Jeremiah 31:31-32 KJV
This isn’t a new idea he told moses this would happen when they made the covenant before Moses died
“And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and
this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.”
Deuteronomy 31:16 KJV
His promise was that he would send the messiah to make a new covenant with the people and then extend it to all people
“And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be
my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel:
I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.”
Isaiah 49:6 KJV
To try to drag the old covenant law into the new covenant doesn’t work because it’s contrary “ stone the sinners v forgive the sinners and don’t throw stones at them because you have sinned also “ eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth v turn the other cheek “ when you marry you are free to do or e if you find an issue and free to remarry again v when you marry it’s a lifetime commitment the only valid reason for divorce is fornication don’t seperate what is joined together by God “ two become one flesh ect
There are two covenants there’s the law of Moses governing the old and the law of Christ which governs all things even eternity
