concerning to say the least, what with shrinkflation and food inflation.its a racket.

I asked Gemini's AI what is bio-engineered food and is it safe and this the answer back.

That's a very common and important question.

Bio-engineered food is essentially another term for what you might know as Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs).

Here is a breakdown of what it is and what science says about its safety:
🔬 What is Bio-Engineered Food?

A bio-engineered (BE) food is defined by the USDA's National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard as a food that contains detectable genetic material that has been modified through certain lab techniques and cannot be created through conventional breeding or found in nature.

Key characteristics:

  • Genetic Modification: Scientists use modern genetic engineering techniques (like recombinant DNA technology) to introduce a specific, beneficial trait into a plant or animal's DNA.

  • Purpose: These modifications are often done to achieve desired characteristics such as:
    • Resistance to pests (reducing the need for some pesticides).
    • Tolerance to herbicides (allowing farmers to control weeds more easily).
    • Increased nutritional value (like oils with healthier fat profiles).
    • Resistance to drought or disease.
  • ease.
    • The Terminology: While "GMO" is a general term, the U.S. government (USDA) uses "Bioengineered (BE) Food" for its mandatory labeling requirements.

  • 🍽️ Is Bio-Engineered Food Safe?
The scientific consensus from major health and regulatory organizations is that currently available bio-engineered foods are safe to eat.
    Safety Consensus
    • Regulator Position: Organizations like the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) have concluded that GMO/BE foods are as healthful and safe to eat as their non-GMO counterparts.
    • Rigorous Testing: Before they can be sold, BE foods undergo extensive regulatory review and testing to ensure they meet the same safety standards as non-BE foods.
    • Long-Term Consumption: People have been consuming foods made from genetically engineered crops for decades without validated evidence of harm.

  • Areas of Ongoing Discussion
While the core food is deemed safe, public concerns and ongoing research often focus on a few related topics:
    • Herbicide Use: Some BE crops are engineered to be resistant to certain herbicides (like glyphosate). Concerns exist regarding the potential health effects of increased trace amounts of these herbicides that may remain on the food.
    • Long-Term Effects: As genetic engineering is a relatively modern practice, some individuals and groups argue that the long-term effects on human health are not yet fully understood and warrant continuous study.
    • Environmental Concerns: Discussions also often include the potential for altered genes to transfer to wild species or the effects on biodiversity.

  • In Summary
The overwhelming conclusion from most major scientific and regulatory bodies globally is that eating foods with bio-engineered ingredients is not harmful to your health. For U.S. consumers, the National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard now requires mandatory labeling so consumers can make informed choices.
Would you like to know which specific foods are commonly bio-engineered?

If they believe injecting us with cultured cells from a cancerous tumor is safe, so then what is going to stop them from putting it into our mouths.
Injecting it is even worse than eating it cause the stomach acid breaks down the cells, but injecting straight into our bodies doesn't. That the cancerous cells will just be continuously growing inside of our bodies, feeding from off the nutrients from our blood. And cannibalism can cause Kuru a disease that comes from eating your own.

They're creating cell cultured meats that grows from a single cell. But there's only one cell that I know that keeps on growing even after it been out of the person for decades. That they may have spliced these cells with an animal cell to make these cell cultured meats.
If animals had immortal cells, they would have been using those cells in vaccines and etc. to keep the public calm. They have in the past made vaccines from animals' cells and so, why they are only keeping HeLa cells to make all sort of products?

I have noticed this in Australia. I have bought avos (avocados) that seem rubbery - someone said somewhere that is because many foods are kept in cold storage for long periods, which can cause this. Many foods I buy have lost their taste - my sister's apricots are delicious, but store bought ones usually taste of nothing - same with a lot of other fruits, etc. I don't buy certain fruits/veggies etc anymore, as it's just a waste of money.
I guess unless we all complain collectively, no action will be taken.
Thanks for posting this vid !
