Jesus told the 40,000 kinds of “Christian” churches, doing all those wonderful works, “I never knew you”. which of the 40,000?

Just so I under stand,

you are saying when Jesus Christ told this rich fellow to gain "the gift' of eternal life keep the commandments.

Gift, means Unearned! Eternal life can not be earned!

so, Christ was telling the Jews they needed to keep the Commandments?

so there are now two ways to gain the gift of eternal life, one for the Jews and one for the gentiles??

Is that what Christ taught? now two ways?

16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear FALSE witness,

19 Honour thy father and [thy] mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go [and] sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come [and] follow me.

22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

Christ did not bring up the first four as those are the ones the rich guy was breaking by putting his wealth before God.

Christ did not tell the rich man that he had skipped four commandments. "One thing you lack", not five things. God does not condemn the rich for being rich. Abraham, Solomon, Hezekiah and countless others had vast wealth.

one more thought, the many are being misled by Paul, Why? as the Apostle Peter states, Paul is hard to understand.

example, Paul coined the term "works of the Law" that in no way speaks of the Commandments, the works of the law is offering sacrifice, there in no work in NOT doing something. but a ton of work sacrificing an animal.

I have relatives that "Know" Paul teaches the Torah is gone,, they believe they are accepted "Just as the are"! good luck with that.

Christ talks of "THE few" that follow Him and of the Many that do not. the Many have rejected obeying.

1 Peter 3

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

15 And account [that] the longsuffering of our Lord [is] salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

16 As also in all [his] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as [they do] also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know [these things] before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

18 But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him [be] glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Well another thought just came

What you are saying is --- gentiles do not need to REPENT, they have nothing to repent of if they do not need to obey the Law.

And God decreed out of Jerusalem that Gentiles were not required to keep the law of Moses, which includes the Sabbath....
In Matthew 4:15-23, Christ began his ministry with the Gospel message to repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand, which was a light to the Gentiles, and the Law of Moses was how his audience knew what sin is (Romans 3:20), so repenting from our disobedience to it is a central part of the Gospel of the Kingdom/Grace. Christ also set a sinless example for us to follow of how to walk in obedience to the Law of Moses and we are told to follow his example (1 Peter 2:21-22) and that those who are in Christ are obligated to walk in the same way that he walked (1 John 2:6). So Christ spent his ministry teaching his followers to follow the Law of Moses by word and by example and I do not think that it is correct to interpret Acts 15 as ruling that Gentile followers of Christ shouldn't be followers of Christ.

Yes…. Christ kept and taught to keep the whole law of Moses (the old covenant/contract/agreement) right down to the tithing of mint, anise and cumin. And who was Christ teaching the law of Moses to? Jews (Israelites), not Gentiles. The law of Moses was given to the Jews (children of Israel), not the Gentiles, of which Christ by birth was one of them. Christ fulfilled the law of Moses (the old covenant) by keeping it perfectly. Then He established a New Covenant with His own blood, that was given to the Children of God that the Father would draw to Him from every nation.

The decree confirmed that the Gentile churches in Asia were under the New Covenant, however, the Jewish believers in Jerusalem kept their traditions of keeping the law of Moses, and naturally by doing so, tried to merge the two, (New with the old... New Wine into old wine skins). This was clearly shown many years later when James convinced Paul to shave his head and get purified, and pay for the purification and shaving of 4 others, and then show up at the Temple to complete the purification and thereby showing the Jewish converts at the Temple that He was still keeping the traditions (the law of Moses).

Eventually, this practice of trying to merge the two covenants turned out to be a disaster when the old wine skins (the Temple and priesthood) got destroyed in 70AD and the church (New Wine) in Jerusalem scattered (spilled out). Only the Gentile churches in Asia continued after that, as recorded in Revelation.

My comment:

So according to what you wrote above,, there are two paths to eternal life, one for Jews and another different path for gentiles.
Therefore; there is NOT ONE WAY to eternal life, but two. would this not be correct?

The second major problem is with repentance, Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles taught all must repent,

If every thing Christ taught was only for the Jews and no one else, then repentance of transgressing the Law is only possible with the Jews,

If the gentiles are not required to obey the Torah and the 10 Commandments, then the gentiles would have nothing to repent of transgressing.

Why be baptized for their sins if there was no law pointing out what is sin 1 John3:4

and are you saying what the Apostle James and John wrote is only for the Jews?

Jesus fulfilled the law by spending his ministry teaching his followers to obey the Law of Moses by word and by example and the reason why he established the New Covenant was not in order to nullify anything that he spent his ministry teaching or so that we could continue to have the same lawlessness that caused the New Covenant to be needed in the first place but rather the New Covenant still involves following the Law of Moses (Jeremiah 31:33, Ezekiel 36:27-27). In Matthew 28:16-20, Jesus commissioned his disciples to teach to the nations everything that he taught them, so he did not intend for what he spent his ministry teaching to only be for Jews. Similarly, the purpose of his he parable of the wine skins has nothing to do with nullifying his ministry and Jesus did not start speaking about the New Covenant until the end of his ministry, so you are ignoring the reason why Jesus gave the parable and are applying to make a point that had nothing to do with the point that Jesus was making. Jesus was being questioned about his selection of disciples and why they weren’t fasting, so he gave a parable to make a point about different kinds of disciples.

The Law of Moses was given to Jews in order to fulfill the role of being a light and a blessing to the nations by turning the nations from their wickedness and by teaching them to obey it in accordance with spreading the Gospel of the Kingdom/Grace and with the promise.

A child of someone is a person who is in their likeness through being a doer of their character traits such as with John 8:39 where Jesus said that if they were children of Abraham, then they would be doers of same works as him. This is why those who are not doers of righteous works in obedience to the Law of Moses are not children of God (1 John 3:4-7) and why Paul contrasted those who are born of the Spirit with those who have minds set on the flesh who are enemies of God who refuse to submit to the Law of Moses (Romans 8:4-14).

In Titus 2:14, Jesus gave himself to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people of his own possession who are zealous for doing good works, so the way to believe in the Gospel that Jesus spent his ministry teaching and accomplished through the cross is by repenting and becoming zealous for doing good works in obedience to the Law of Moses (Acts 21:20).

You’re all over the place. You need to understand contract law. You can’t mix an old contract God made with party X, with a new contract God made 2,000 years later with party Y. This is why I say the SDA have made their own contract(s). They take an old contract God made with party X, throw most of the terms in the garbage because they’re impossible to obey, then they try to merge it with a contract God made with party Y and use the sacrifice of Christ to make up the difference. And they didn’t even get God as a signatory because there is zero evidence in the scripture that this SDA hybrid contract signed off by God even exist.

When Jesus came He observed and taught on occasion the old contract made with party X (the Jews). The New Contract, that was to be made with party Y (the Children of God) was not yet made but Jesus allocated the majority of His ministry to the promise of this New Contract that was to come.

In Matthew 28:16-20, Jesus commissioned his disciples to teach to the nations everything that he taught them, so he did not intend for what he spent his ministry teaching to only be for Jews.

This was after the sacrifice and the New Contract with Y (the Children of God from all nations) was established. He fulfilled the old contract with X (Jews) and establish in His own Blood the New Contract with Y. The disciples were not commissioned to go out and do what you do, teach a hybrid contract that they made up, they were also not commissioned to go out and teach the old contract made with party X, the law of Moses. If they were commissioned to go out and teach the law of Moses, there would have been no dispute in Acts 15 because all the Gentiles in Asia would have been circumcised and keeping the law of Moses. But they were not because they were not commissioned to do so. It was only when that Pharisee sect infiltrated the Church at Jerusalem that spies were sent out to disrupt the original commission and get all the Gentiles circumcised and keeping the law of Moses. Thankfully, the Holy Spirit shut this attempt down. Acts 15.

The purpose of the wine skin and old garment parable was to show that what the disciples were doing (not fasting as often as the Pharisees were) was new, meaning, what they were being taught was new and caused them to do things differently than the old teachings and traditions of the Pharisees. It was the Pharisees at the Jerusalem church that sent out the spies to reverse the new ways of the New Contract being taught by the Holy Spirit to the Gentile churches in Asia and get them to observe the old contract they were practicing in the church at Jerusalem. The analogy of mixing the new ways and teachings of Christ observed in the Gentile churches (new wine) mixed with the centuries old established ways practiced by the Jewish church in Jerusalem (old win skins) makes a perfect analogy to me.

The Law of Moses was given to Jews in order to fulfill the role of being a light and a blessing to the nations by turning the nations from their wickedness and by teaching them to obey it in accordance with spreading the Gospel of the Kingdom/Grace and with the promise.

You are making up a whole lotta stuff here. Essentially saying the law of Moses was given to the Jews to spread the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. This is what happens to your reasoning when you try to observe the law of Moses, something that’s impossible for you to do, and then use Christ’s sacrifice to make up the difference.

A child of someone is a person who is in their likeness through being a doer of their character traits such as with John 8:39 where Jesus said that if they were children of Abraham, then they would be doers of same works as him. This is why those who are not doers of righteous works in obedience to the Law of Moses are not children of God (1 John 3:4-7)

As I have proven and it only took one scripture: The law of Moses was not required by the Gentile churches in Asia. As long as you don’t reorganize your beliefs according the decree in this very clear scripture in Acts 15: 24, you’re going to continue equating the law of Moses with the Gospel

and why Paul contrasted those who are born of the Spirit with those who have minds set on the flesh who are enemies of God who refuse to submit to the Law of Moses (Romans 8:4-14).

Again, Acts 15: 24 shows that the Gentiles could fulfill the righteousness of the law without getting circumcised and keeping the law of Moses.

“You see, brother, how many myriads of Jews there are who have believed, and they are all zealous for the law;” Acts 21:20

Yes… as I mentioned, the Jewish believers in Jerusalem were zealous for the law of Moses, just as you are, although you don’t keep it according to all that was commanded. And what was James’ concern in the following verse:

“they [the Jews] have been informed about you that you teach all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children nor to walk according to the customs.”

Now as I touched on earlier, why were the Jewish believers at Jerusalem worried that Paul was teaching the Jewish believers among the Gentile believers in Asia to forsake Moses (the law of Moses) and to not get circumcised? Because the decree that went out earlier in Acts 15:24, to Paul’s churches in Asia, stated that there was no such commandment for the Gentiles to get circumcised and keep the law of Moses. And James reiterates this in a later verse when he says,

“But concerning the Gentiles who believe, we have written and decided that they should observe no such thing, except that they should keep themselves from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality.” Verse 25

It’s clearly stated in Acts 15: 24 that the “no such thing” Gentiles were required to do:

“some (spies sent by the Pharisees) who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, saying, “You must be circumcised and keep the law”—to whom we gave no such commandment”

They were required to do no such thing as get circumcised and keep the law of Moses. They were given “no such commandment” to “be circumcised and keep the law”, which is the law of Moses.

The Jewish church at Jerusalem was not being taught the same things as the Gentile Churches in Asia and this was sealed by decree in Acts 15.

So according to what you wrote above,, there are two paths to eternal life, one for Jews and another different path for gentiles. Therefore; there is NOT ONE WAY to eternal life, but two. would this not be correct?

What I wrote above is that when Christ came there was no New Covenant yet established, therefore there was no path yet for eternal life for the Gentiles or the Jews. The old covenant. law of Moses, didn’t promise eternal life. Christ first had to fulfill the law of Moses, which He did by keeping it and teaching it properly to the Jews, to qualify as a sacrifice to establish a New Covenant with a the promise of eternal life for both Jews and Gentiles.

The second major problem is with repentance, Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles taught all must repent… If every thing Christ taught was only for the Jews and no one else, then repentance of transgressing the Law is only possible with the Jews, If the gentiles are not required to obey the Torah and the 10 Commandments, then the gentiles would have nothing to repent of transgressing. Why be baptized for their sins if there was no law pointing out what is sin 1 John3:4

You are limiting God to one old contract (the old covenant/the Torah) that He made with an old party, the Jews, that didn’t promise eternal life. And I already showed in earlier comments that Moses, Jesus, the Jews, the Apostles…. all those who were given the law and administered the law NEVER separated the ten commandments from the law of Moses. That’s only done by the SDA, (which someone explained to me that the SDA got the idea from early Catholics), so they can say the Sabbath is a requirement while the rest of the law of Moses is not.

The Gentiles in Asia didn’t need the Torah to know how to be righteous… they had the New Covenant, the Holy Spirit and Paul and Barnabas.

The book of Acts shows that the Gentile churches in Asia were being taught differently from the Jewish church at Jerusalem. This is what the spies from Jerusalem were sent to find out. And what they found out was that the churches in Asia, that were overseen by Paul and Barnabas, were not taught to be circumcised nor were they taught to observe the law of Moses. Which shows they didn’t need the Torah to know how to behave properly up until that time.

The truth, that no one requires Sabbath observance to be saved, can be proven by a small section of just one verse,

“...unsettling your souls, saying, ‘You must be circumcised and keep the law’—to whom we gave no such commandment.” Acts 15: 24

That’s right… the truth is right in everybody’s face: “WE GAVE NO SUCH COMMANDMENT” to be circumcised and keep the law, the law of Moses which includes the Sabbath.

The lie on the other hand, that the Sabbath must be observed to be saved, requires the text flooding of hundreds of scriptures taken from Genesis to Revelation and a small army of online Sabbatarians.

And everyone on both sides of the debate just keep ignoring this plain, simple and direct little scripture so they can keep the debate going as an SDA advertisement.

My previous comment was simply to show that the Gentile churches in Asia were not following the same teachings as the Jewish church in Jerusalem. Now you would think that this fact would be quite interesting because I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere.

This was evident several years after the decree was issued, when Paul went up to Jerusalem for the last time and James said to him,

“You see, brother, how many myriads of Jews there are who have believed, and they are all zealous for the law” Acts 21: 20

So here we see the Jewish converts, “Christians” who are “zealous for the law”. And what law are we talking about? The one that you’re trying to keep and sell to everyone else, the law of Moses.

Then James goes on to say,

“but they have been informed about you that you teach all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children nor to walk according to the customs.” Acts 21: 21

So because Paul spent all his time in Asia with these unclean Gentiles that they wouldn’t sit at the same table with for dinner, and the Jews knew that Paul was teaching the Gentiles differently, according to that decree they received years prior, that decree that foiled the plans of the Pharisee sect to get them all circumcised and keeping the law of Moses, they were concerned that Paul was teaching the Jews of Asia the same things he was teaching the Gentiles, which was not to get circumcised and “walk according to the customs”. And what customs was James referring to? The law of Moses.

So James went on to exhort Paul to take four men,”...and be purified with them, and pay their expenses so that they may shave their heads, and that all may know that those things of which they were informed concerning you are nothing, but that you yourself also walk orderly and keep the law.”

Again, what law? The law of Moses.

Then James goes on to say,

“But concerning the Gentiles who believe, we have written and decided that they should observe no such thing, except that they should keep themselves from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality.” Acts 21: 25

And what is the “no such thing” that the Gentiles did not need to observe? To “be circumcised and keep the law”—to whom we gave no such commandment”. Act 15: 24

So we see, the Gentiles in Asia were not to observe the law of Moses or to be circumcised but the Jews were required to do so... and Paul had to prove to the Jews that he wasn’t teaching to the Jewish believers in Asia what he was teaching the Gentile believers and prove that he also wasn’t observing what he was teaching the Gentile believers.

All of this I already dealt with in detail. Through the Blood and Sacrifice of Christ, God created a New Contract (Covenant) made with a New Party, the Children of God. Unlike the old contract, in the New Contract there is no written code pointing out what is sin, it’s pointed out by the Holy Spirit dwelling within the Child of God. It’s not communicated through a thunderous voice to millions of people from a mountain top, written on stone and in a book, it’s communicated by God through the Holy Spirit on an individual basis, one Child at a time. God is Spirit, and His Children can only fully relate with Him and He fully relate with His Children through Spirit not through written code.

The Jews also could not understand this because they ensnared themselves in written code. But by the Spirit of God (Acts 15:28), the Apostles at the church in Jerusalem were given the sense not to ensnare the Gentile churches in Asia to the written code (law of Moses/Torah), which they themselves couldn’t bear.
