The two guys looking around.. do you see any hands? I don't see anyone raising their hands. haha. sorry.. funny to me

Someone may have had their hands raised on the inside!

"it's OK for christians to go ahead and live in sin since all future sins are already forgiven". As God as my witness I have only hear this from believes that believe your not always saved.

Your position then is that it is OK for Christians to live in sin?

I know people in my church doing things that are sinful and they think they are still saved.

Are they? They know it's wrong and they do it anyway claiming what you are claiming that they are saved anyway

It might comfort you to know that God isn't fooled. He knows who are His.

My coworker who is telling me once saved always saved in not true told me to ask you if it's OK for christians to go ahead and live in sin since all future sins are already forgiven

I can see his point. If it's true that all future sins are forgiven then it doesn't matter if a christian lives in sin or not since all future sins are forgiven

Is this is why some many christians are living in sin now because they think all future sins are forgiven?
In Romans 6, Paul asks a significant question, "Why would those who have believed the gospel and have become baptized inti christ continue in sin?

Hello! There is no-one able to work their way into heaven, hence our need for a saviour.

Indeed, there is no one on earth who is righteous,
no one who does what is right and never sins (Ecclesiastes 7:20)

All have turned away, all have become corrupt;
there is no one who does good,
not even one. (Psalm 14:3)

Once someone is saved I believe an attitude of gratitude takes over, we love because he first loved us. We forgive one another because we have been forgiven. We try to do the right. But we often fail, no-one is sinless. The best thing said about future sins IMHO is to try not to commit them.

God Bless You :)

Are all these people here that say it's not possible to do anything that would cause us to not go to heaven wrong?
Nobody goes to heaven. We all go to the grave, i.e. Sheol/Hades, then rise from the dead, like what Lord Jesus had been through.

Is this common? What kinds of things do they say?

I'm hearing numerous preachers teach that all our futures sins are already forgiven

My pastor tells me that the bible teaches there is nothing a christian can possibly do that would cause them to not go to heaven

And this seems to be the general consensus of many here after reading quite a few posts from others.

I would reference Ezekiel 33:12-13 "Therefore, son of man, say to your people, ‘If someone who is righteous disobeys, that person’s former righteousness will count for nothing. And if someone who is wicked repents, that person’s former wickedness will not bring condemnation. The righteous person who sins will not be allowed to live even though they were formerly righteous. Therefore, son of man, say to your people, ‘If someone who is righteous disobeys, that person’s former righteousness will count for nothing. And if someone who is wicked repents, that person’s former wickedness will not bring condemnation. The righteous person who sins will not be allowed to live even though they were formerly righteous."

Very interesting, thank you.

I'm thinking the eternal security guys are trying to talk their way out believing Ezekiel 33:12-13 for sure.

They don't seem to be people that accepts everything the bible teaches.

A truly born-again believer can sin all he wants.
He's just lousy at it because the indwelt Holy Spirit messes everything up for him.
Plus his heavenly Father takes him out to the woodshed and gives him (a) spanking(s) that give(s) him life-long reminders not to sin.
Plus he's a new creature and has a new propensity to do new creature things, of which sin has no part.
Sinning for a believer is kind of like sticking your nose in a vise; you can do it all you want.

Very interesting, thank you.

I don't see the conflict.
But can I ask a question? How did you cite the Ezekiel passage as you did? That is really cool.

Is that the security in sin gospel that Jelly Roll talks about.
They guy uses foul language all the time. Did the Holy Spirit lead him to cuss like that?

Pretty sure people that claim to be christians who are living in sin are not going to be going to heaven

You don't see a conflict with saying you are born again and then thinking it's OK to live in sin?

That doesn't seem off you you at all?

My coworkers says these kind of people are tares and not actually christians.

“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:6-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

his sacrifice is our propitiation but think about it if I steal from you but I never acknowledge I did anything wrong and so it never makes me feel guilty so then I have no reason to confess or ask you to forgive me

In the end you may have been willing to forgive me but I shorted myself because I wouldn’t acknowledge my offense I pretended I didn’t do anything wrong so I couldn’t be forgiven for it.

a funny thing about forgiveness, if I refuse to acknowledge my wrong and my fault i couldn’t be forgiven for my wrong or fault. It requires acknowledgement of the wrong for the person to receive the forgivness that’s freely given

Wow! @Pilgrimshope

Those eternal security proponents will be coming after you for that post!
If we confess our sins,

he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say that we have not sinned,

we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”

‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Its alright I’m old and stubborn so 😂 I choose to believe the things Jesus and his apostles taught

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall be given into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:37-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

lovely to the ears of those who know that have sinned already and need mercy ….

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:36‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:1-2‬ ‭

repentance doesn’t mean perfect behavior it means when we’ve done something wrong and realize it it should cause us godly sorrow knowing we’ve sinned which then leads us to repentance and restoration

“Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭7:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If I’m sorry because I don’t get what I want or because I’m not free to go on sinning it’s worldly . If being Made aware of my sin makes me sorry , it’s godly . If they hadn’t acknowledged thier sin they would have never been sorry with that godly sorrow that works repentance. When we sin and we’re fine with it and it doesn’t make us feel like we did something wrong there’s an issue with the doctrine we’ve accepted . That parts important because it leads us to repent when we mess up and become aware of it .

Its the difference between saying “ you are now free to sin all you want without consequence or guilt “ and saying “ you have been forgiven for your sins , now repent and confess when you have sinned and God Will faithfully forgive you and cleanse you from it “

Some have the first attitude but won’t say it “ sin no longer applies because Jesus died” the truth is the New Testament doctrine works together with his bloodshed and resurrection to redeem us from sins dominion so we don’t perish

If being Made aware of my sin makes me sorry , it’s godly .

Thing to do is grow up spiritually and put away childish things and cease from sinning.
Here's some instructions from God's Word to chew on:

The the Lord says this thru the Apostle John:

1 John 3:7
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that DOES righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

1 Corinthians 15:34
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

1 John 5:18
We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

1 John 3:6
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Galatians 5:16
Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

1 John 2:1
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.

2 Peter 1:4
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

2 Peter 2:14,15
Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

Romans 6:1,2
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Romans 11:22
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:6
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Romans 8:13,14
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

2 Timothy 2:21
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

Are you asking about the fact that the program now hotlinks Scripture passages which can be
hovered over with your cursor to show a pop-up which displays the passage in question?
That is something that was built into or added to the program software about a year ago.

Yes, I would like to try that in one of my posts. How do we do that?

Thanks, Magenta.

If you simply cite any passage, such as John 3:16, it will automatically show up as a hotlink about a minute later.

You can build links into your posts also (there is an icon above text box for that), but they do not give pop-ups.

They would be something another could click to take them elsewhere, whether here or somewhere else.

PS~ you are welcome, Roger!
