Ecc 12:12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecc 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

I understand people want to understand some things and go to great lengths and detail and to try to find dates and dates when something may happen.

But why especially when they spend a lot of time on it but it does not help anything, and does not benefit, and does not apply.

Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Jesus took the physical ordinances of Israel out of the way nailing them to His cross because they were contrary to us that they had no bearing on salvation.

They have no bearing in the New Testament.

Why bother with it like it has some importance in the New Testament when Jesus took it away so it does not apply.

And why use the physical ordinances to think you can figure out a date of an event happening in the New if they do not apply anymore.

Which love is the fulfilling of the law.

Mat 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Mar 13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

Some people try to figure out the date of the resurrection but Jesus said no person will know so why bother.

And no physical ordinance will figure it out.

Isa 13:9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
Isa 13:11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

Zec 14:1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
Zec 14:2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
Zec 14:3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

Zec 14:12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Some people try to figure out the date of the day of the LORD but why worry about it for the saints are with God which is the time He punishes the world for their sins.

It does have any benefit for the saints to know the date to benefit them for they are with God.

And no Jubilee year or physical ordinance will figure it out for they no longer apply so there is no applying their time period or event to understand.

No physical ordinance is going to figure out any date or event that happens in the New because they were taken out of the way so they do not apply to be applied to anything in the New.

It is amazing that people will study something for a great length of time that does not apply anymore, they do not have to obey, and does not figure anything out in the New.

So if they are spending a great deal of time to figure something out that is a physical ordinance to apply it in the New they are doing it to find dates and events.

But it does not apply and will not figure anything out.
The reason I do is that Jesus told us to keep watch, to always be watching, and this is the way I choose to be actively watching. It is not the way everyone chooses, and I respect that. I share what I find to help those who, like me, are seeking to learn as much as possible from God's scripture and wish to be actively watching with loving hope.
Yes, Jesus said no one will know the day or hour, but I believe he expects us to know the approximate time within a few years, as he expected the Israelites to know the time of his 1st coming. They were dispersed because they failed to recognize his time. Why would Jesus indicate the sign of the Fig tree budding if he did not expect us to be searching the scriptures to best understand his return? I love Jesus, I want to be with Jesus, and I can't wait for the day when I am home with him. Please don't try to throw cold water on my love passion for him, and how I chose to try and follow his love commands

You don't need to explain yourself BB. The gift your displaying here is remarkable. It's one thing to understand this topic at a high level, its another to be able to explain it. I want to say thanks for taking the time to share that with us. Please continue.

I've heard of him, I'll check him out.

Thats also what Dr. Scott's know as, and university prop. If you look him up, try to get past all the baggage satan has piled around him and his teachings.
No issue, I'm not judgmental, and look past things with a degree of discernment, focusing more on what I might learn from them

I have a lot of questions for you, but I'll get acquainted with your thread first.

I do want to know what you consider a "Berean" to be theologically. I've never found a specific doctrine that I could call home. Of course ive heard of the Bereans and a little bits of info here and there about them.

And after listening to Benjamin, he sold me on a post trib rapture. A big part of that is when the final trumpet blows. What's your discernment on that?

You said something about trying to fix bad understandings about the end times. I've been trying to do the same with the mistranslation of pisteuo into the English language. Been trying for over 30 years on sites like this, not seeing a lot of minds being changed. Sometimes I think my purpose is just to prove we're in the times of 2 Tim. 4:3-4.

I had posted the following regarding the scripture pointing to AD 28. The Romans were one of the best at keeping accurate records, and historians rely on them, particularly when it comes to Emporer's rule. There is much debate about when Tiberias was Caesar

Luke 3:3 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, …..23 Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age,....................... Tiberius, the second Roman emperor, reigned from AD 14 to 37…...................

From Britannica: Tiberius (born November 16, 42 bce—died March 16, 37 ce, Capreae [Capri], near Naples) was the second Roman emperor (14–37 ce),

I am glad that we agree that the Romans kept very accurate records. I am relying on Roman records to argue that John the Baptist could not have been arrested before August of 28 at the absolute earliest. Unfortunately, any Roman records regarding Antipas's marriages have not been preserved, but still he had to get permission from Tiberius or Sejanus, via personal appeal, and that could only have occurred in July 28 CE, and that was after many major governmental decisions had been put off for the better part of a month, so the backlog had to be dealt with before such a minor request as permission to divorce a politically required wife and marry another in defiance of the Jewish law the Antipas otherwise seems to have followed. You might wish to look at Matthew 4:12, Mark 1:14 and Luke 4:14, Jesus hears that John is cast into prison and then His ministry in Galilee begins. According to John, Jesus had a baptism ministry in Judea, but that is not His preaching ministry, and further, He calls his disciples in Galilee, whicc is after John is arrested.

I welcome questions and will offer my best opinion as I understand scriptures at this point in my learning journey

My opinion is good. Berean is first someone willing to listen to the opinions of others with an open mind, even when it might not align with their opinion at the time
Second, evaluates what is presented against the whole of God's word to determine if it aligns with God's word.
Third, is willing to humbly change their opinion when the scripture evidence supports it.
Fourth, debate opinions with loving respect, willing to concede that we won't always reach an agreement, but we can agree to disagree.
I also think a Berean should always be searching to learn more and grow in knowledge from God's word. I have learned that there is a lot subtly hidden in Scripture. My favorite scripture is Proverbs 25:2. It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.

As for my position on Pre, Mid, and Post Tribulation, I am none of them. Basically, because I find the whole Tribulation label a bit of a red herring. The Church has been in tribulation since its inception. We are all in Tribulation, as the apostle John indicated in the opening of Revelation. This Tribulation debate has done nothing but cause significant division in the Body of Christ, and anything that causes division is not Jesus's from Jesus or his intent. Who is the one who wants to cause division and dissent? With that said, I do recognize there is a period of God's Wrath, Daniel's 70th week consisting of two 42-month periods, months long (the 2nd of which is the 'time of Jacob's trouble'), and a 1,000-year reign of Christ. I also believe that God will gather is Faithful church (Rapture) at some point along the way. I don't wish to be promoting my book (it is only $7 kindle version, but I address this subject fully in it when I review the whole of the book of Revelation. If you provide a postal address, I can arrange to send you a copy free of charge.

I have no doubts we are in the times of 2nd Timothy

Rewriter, pardon my confusion, but I'm having a problem seeing where we are not in agreement here. My calendar premise is that a Jubilee year began on the Day of Atonement in the fall of AD 28, continuing until the Feast of Trumpets in the fall of AD 29. Sometime afterwards, Jesus was baptized by John, probably late fall of AD 28, then maybe in an early winter month, John was arrested and eventually executed in late winter or early spring of AD 29. That is the closest I can come to scripturally. Jesus said the Law (age) ended with John. I think Jesus is telling us the age ended during this defined Jubilee year.
I will add another observation, though. It would be the perfect time (During a Jubilee year) for Jesus to begin his ministry, as the people would not be in the fields, giving him more access to a larger portion of the population. It would also support John being busy baptizing the population, as they had more free time.

I would not argue with you about the dating of the Jubilee year some scholars date it to 27-8 but that is minor. However, whether Jesus was baptized before, during or after the Jubilee is unclear. When John the Baptist died is also unclear. There even exists reason to question whether Antipas had him arrested and executed or not, the accounts we have are all late enough that blaming Antipas might have been done to avoid blaming Rome.

As for Jesus declaring that an age ended with the Jubilee year, that is highly open to debate because during His ministry He declared that not a jot or tittle of the law would be removed, and His ministry was clearly after the Jubilee year.

As for the people having free time, similar actions were undertaken before the Jubilee year, this fact is just not emphasized in scripture. You seem to assume too much. And if Jesus wanted to minister during a Jubilee year, why does John indicate that His ministry extended over 3 years, safely past the Jubilee year.

Thank you for your comments. As for the declaration that Jesus was declaring the end of an age, I don't believe I'm assuming too much. It is a contradictory statement when Jesus said the law ended with John, and then continues to say, but not the title of the law is ended. I am providing an explanation to the contradiction that appears to support my calendar findings of the end of an age. I appreciate that you might not agree here, but I might ask you to provide a better explanation for the contradiction Jesus presented.

Do you have a discerned estimate on the day of the Lord?
On the exact day, no. By the day of the Lord, do you mean the Rapture, or the 2nd coming of Jesus? I understand some believe this to be one and the same event, and some don't believe in the premise of the Rapture at all. Personally, I do believe in the Rapture, and I don't view the Rapture occurring at the time of Jesus 2nd coming. I perceive them as separate events with years of separation. We are kind of opening a big, divisive subject here, but I will try to outline how I see Revelation as briefly as I can.
First, most believe everything from the opening of the 7-seals through the pouring of the 7-bowls, occurs during the 7-year period of Daniel's 70th week. That is a lot to happen in 7 years, especially when Scripture indicates 18 months as a minimum (some unknown time period) for the 7 trumpets alone. Then you have 42 months identified for the 2 witnesses of God, plus another 42 months of Jacob's trouble. Basically, the simple math doesn't work, and part of the reason why Revelation becomes a divisive subject. We are trying to fit too many Jelly beans into too small a jar, and spending time divisively debating over how to do it. Why do we think this way? Because it is something that has been traditionally taught over and over again, for centuries, to the point that it has become the unquestionable truth. If we stop and think, there is no scriptural basis to put all the Seals, Trumpets, Thunders, and Bowls into Daniel's 70th week. It is purely based on an assumption that is not questioned. But here is a scriptural basis why anything that is a world or Christian-related event does not occur during Daniel's 70th week, found in Daniel 9:24: Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city,
Clear as day, who and what the 70th week is about? The seventy weeks (including the seventeenth are exclusively designated to and about the Jewish people and Jerusalem. Up to Jesus was 69 weeks concerning Jewish people and Jerusalem, a long Christian pause of 2,000 years, then the 70th week will again be about the Jewish people and Jerusalem (non-inclusive of Christians or a rapture during Daniel's 70th week). The age of Grace is complete before Daniel's 70th week, and the Bride of Christ is long gone.

My study has shown me that there are contextual markers that separate Revelation into 3 sections.
The first section, chapters 1- 7, is the Age of Grace, including the 7 letters and the first 6 seals
The second section, chapters 8 & 9, is God's wrath against the world for rejecting or ignoring him
The Third section, chapters 10 - 16 (plus 17 & 18) are Daniel's 70th week, the 2nd half of which is the time of Jacob's Trouble

A picture is worth a thousand words, so I hope the following, explains this and helps you in reading and understanding this most important book. Pay close attention to the contextual theme of who, and setting (world or Israel) being discussed as you study.

Well, the statement that not a jot or a tittle, the smallest parts of the law. will pass until the entire law is fulfilled is a clear statement. The statement that the law and the prophets is part of a complicated section where the grammar makes exact interpretation difficult. But to make it a clear statement that the time of the law is passed would mean that there is a conflict between two sayings of Jesus and that one cannot be true. It also makes the Apostles ignorant as they still upheld the Law with regards to the Jews. Are you really wanting to imply that you know better than the Apostles or that Jesus contradicted himself?

Your brain operates at the same level as the one gifted teacher i found in 38 years of seeking, Dr Gene Scott. He owned the largest collection of biblical manuscripts in private hands behind the Vatican. Those manuscripts are what he taught from. Some of them the dead sea scrolls. I was blessed to hear his teachings for 38 years. Have you heard of him before?
I did try to listen to Dr. Scott, or really, it was his wife, Melissa Scott. I found it slow and a bit difficult to follow, particularly when compared to Chuck Missler's teaching. Clear, professional presentations easy to understand. Please check our Chuck Missler for comparison

Thanks for the detailed response. I also see the day of the Lord and the rapture at different times.

Could I ask you an unrelated question?

How does Chuck explain the salvation process. Or does he teach it happens in a moment of time. Could you take a minute and give me your understanding on that?

Doesn't need to be super detailed, Grace through Faith, what have you been taught?

Purely, salvation by grace that can't be earned through works, works follow out of love. He sticks to scripture. He does 24 hrs of video on the book of Romans, covering it extensively. Here is a link to his first of 24 videos.

Do you have a discerned estimate on the day of the Lord?
If you mean the Rapture, if I were a betting man, I would put 60% of my chips on Fall of 2029, then 15% on Fall 2028, and fall 2030, and finally 10% on 2031. But I'm not a betting man. Did I answer your question

Jubilee year AD 28-29 is the end of the age of Torah (Law) per scripture. The next 81st Jubilee period of 50 yrs is called a Transition Jubilee period

Josh Peck and Dr. Ken Johnson highlight that the Book of Jubilees does speak of 4 ages:
The 'Age of Chaos,
The Age of Torah or Law,
The Age of Forgiveness or Grace, and
The 1,000-year reign on earth,
with each age separated by what they refer to as a 50-year transitional Jubilee period that follows the end of the previous age. This means that periods between the 40th and 41st Jubilee, the period between the 80th and 81st Jubilee, and the coming period between the 120th and 121st Jubilee are designated periods of transition from one age to the next age.

If AD 28 -29 was the 80th Jubilee, we might want to find scriptural evidence of it being the end of the Age of Law or Torah and we find that in Luke 16:16, which I will address in a second. First Let's look at what transpired after the 80th Jubilee year began, and the events of the next 50-year Transitional Jubilee period

We begin on the Day of Atonement, the holiest day of the Jewish year, in AD 28 when they congregated at the Synagogue. Jesus was invited to do the Torah reading and handed the scroll from the Book of Isaiah. Jesus found the most pertinent aspect of Isaiah's writings for the auspicious occasion of the beginning of a Jubilee year. In his readings of Isaiah 61:1, he not only declared it the beginning of a Jubilee year but chose to do it through the prophetic writings of Isaiah 61:1-3, leaving off the final aspect of God's Wrath, and declaring he was the fulfillment of what he had just read. He was declaring it the start of the Jubilee year, by his reading choice, along with his open declaration of who he was.

Luke 4:16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

Jesus knew that the beginning of this Jubilee year was about much more than another Jubilee year; it was the beginning of a Jubilee transition period. It was a period ending the Age of Law, and he states this in Luke 16:16

Luke 16:16 “The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time, the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it. 17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail.

When Jesus said the law and the prophets were until John, he is stating that the age of the law were until John, because he is speaking in the past tense. He goes on to say, but not one tittle of the law is finished. These are contradictory aspects about the law within the same statement, until we recognize that Jesus is not saying the law has passed away (in comparative reference to the earth), but the age of the law is complete. Note the Hebrew word used for fail is 'Pipto', meaning to perish (end). God's law has not ended; only the age of the law has ended. Jesus provided a scriptural marker that the Age of Law was ending with this 80th Jubilee year, right on schedule with 2,000-year ages. We know it was AD 28, as it was the year Jesus began his ministry per Luke 3:3

Over the next 50 years of Jubilee transition (AD 28 - AD 78), we find:
The establishment of the foundations of Christianity, via the establishment of his discipleship, to carry forward the good news,
The fulfillment of the prophecies of the Messiah, mankind's salvation by grace via his crucifixion (introducing a new Age of Grace),
The replacement of prophets with God's more direct and perfect communicating tool, the Holy Spirit,
The elimination in AD 70 of the Jewish temple and animal sacrifice with it, and finally
The dispersion of the Jewish people for not recognizing the time of his coming.

In the next 50-year Jubilee transition period beginning in the fall of 2028, until 2078, we should expect:
The gathering of his faithful church,
The fulfilment of God's time of Wrath,
The fulfillment of Daniel's 70th week prophecy, including Jesus's 2nd coming,
The wedding feast,
The redistribution of lands to the 12 tribes of Israel, and
The establishment of the millennial temple, found at the end of the Book of Ezekiel.

This is all I have time to post today, but I will delve into backtracking into the years before 732 BC and how they provide support for this AD 28 - 29 year, being the 80th Jubilee, and subsequently the 120th Jubilee year of 2028 - 29

did you graduate heaven?? :p
