The apostle Peter says in Acts 1:16, “THE HOLY SPIRIT SPOKE before by the mouth of David concerning Judas…”. Then Peter quotes Psalm 109. David may have recorded it but the words were from the Holy Spirit.
The apostle Paul in Acts 28:25 quotes the book of Isaiah and says, “THE HOLY SPIRIT SPOKE rightly through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers…”. Thus, testifying to the divine inspiration of the book of Isaiah.
The Hebrew writer ( whoever he may be) quotes Psalm 95 and says, “Therefore, AS THE HOLY SPIRIT SAYS…”. Hebrews 3:7. And again in chapter 10:15, “But THE HOLY SPIRIT ALSO WITNESSES TO US for after He had said before…”. The Holy Spirit “witnesses” to us through the scriptures.
“Holy men spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1:21. The writers of the Bible were inspired by The Spirit of God as they spoke and wrote. John 16:13. As These men wrote, they were “guided into all truth “ by the Holy Spirit.
Paul says that the things he and the other apostles speak, are the things that the Holy Spirit teaches. They did not come from man. 1 Cor. 2:13. He goes on to say in verse 16, that “we have the mind of Christ.”Christ and the Spirit are United in thought, purpose, knowledge and words. They do not disagree, argue debate, or contend with each other. They are “one.” The mind of Christ is exactly what the Holy Spirit teaches.
So when we read the Bible, when we read scripture, we are reading the “mind of Christ”, spoken and taught by God the Holy Spirit. When we read scripture, we are reading the words of the Holy Spirit. He is talking to us. He has written this for and to us. THE HOLY SPIRIT SPEAKS TO Us THROUGH SCRIPTURE.
“ALL SCRIPTURE IS GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD, AND IS PROFITABLE FOR REPROOF, CORRECTION, FOR INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, THAT THE MAN OF GOD
MAY BE COMPLETE, THOROUGHLY
EQUIPPED FOR EVERY GOOD WORK.”
As Peter says, sometimes it is good to be reminded of these things, even though we know them. 2 Peter 1:12
