Interesting wake-up call.Interesting that you should bring this passage up, considering that an image of a wooden doorstep with a fire burning under it, woke me this very morning with a sense of alarm.![]()

Apostasy does not have to be "extreme" to be real. The first line of problem with the claims for loss is that they rely so very heavily upon hypotheticals...in many cases extreme hypotheticals put forth as if they were mainstream while never admitting that those few who might fit the definitions of the hypotheticals are so rare that the posters most generally can't point to even one person they have ever encountered who fit their hypothetical narrative.
They proclaimed their gospel. They were not shy about proclaiming the gospel either.
Jesus Christ and Him crucified? Is there another gospel? They proclaimed their gospel.
Although seen "out of frame," there was a sense of a concrete foundation. But I do have to figure out what to do with the porch step.Interesting wake-up call.
I am not talking about the true gospel, I am talking about the one the Puritans pushed.Jesus Christ and Him crucified? Is there another gospel?

I suspect you knew this already.
The NASB draws out the neuter gender better IMO. "All that" may as well but not as succinctly. And it can be argued that John 6:37 says the same.
King James Bible
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
New King James Version
All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.
New American Standard Bible
Everything that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I certainly will not cast out.
NASB 1995
“All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out.

The Father has given The Lord Jesus Christ everything. And It will all come to Him........The one (person/whosoever will) who comes will not be cast out.
But none of us knows the end of what answers our Lord may give and clarify.Yea my point was that a life of studying won’t produce a definitive answer and it really won’t matter that it doesn’t. One either loves Christ or they don’t.
Sure. But an out of frame sense may be something to consider for yourself or for others - you might be surprised at how many have not been taught what the title "YHWH's Christ" means and includes for 1Cor3:11, which is the context for 1Cor3:13.Although seen "out of frame," there was a sense of a concrete foundation. The work is what "anyone" builds on that foundation, as accoreding to 1Cor3:12, of which the foundation is already established who is "YHWH's Christ." And, currently, I must be patient in the disclosure whether this vision is in regard to that which I've built (even though this is and maybe even should be my initial assumption), as I do good to assume the most critical scenario for myself, or if it is intended to be a direction of focus of which to bring awareness, and perhaps in here in particular. The is significant in the way into the foundation, which in this case is built with wood. Assuming that indeed this is the doorstep that I've built, which leads to that foundation, then it would prove to be unresistant to fire, and readers would rather step onto a more stable platform, built of gold, silver, or precious stone, for example.Sure. Then, whose work is being burned and what is that work?
The Puritans preached Christ and Him crucified for the preselected chosen few only. The Puritans preached Christ and Him crucified.
They preached this to everyone. And no true Calvinist would ever believe that the gospel was only for a few. They would have read the entire Bible and know that glory is filled with a number that no man can number. The Puritans preached Christ and Him crucified for the preselected chosen few only.
Get your Calvinism straight.
Much to consider assuming one takes such wake-ups seriously. The work is what "anyone" builds on that foundation, as accoreding to 1Cor3:12, of which the foundation is already established who is "YHWH's Christ." When I consider how many I might have brought into Christ, I'm afraid I would have no rewards as far as I can tell. (Although I do entertain a notion that, having heard his story, I might've influenced such as Joseph Prince, under cover of anonymity of the internet irc concerning his adoption of the mantra, "It's not about me, it's about Him"... but that is a long story of how I've come to that notion and something that only God knows about, for now). Anyway, I have, during the course of my stint on the www, ventured to share my faith in Christ, even if I have diverged here and there into amusement and futility.
Anyway, if it is so that all my exertions amount to wood, then perhaps I should abandon this venture as a wasted effort and leave it to those with better building materials to work with.
And then of course, I'll consider the possibility that the doorstep is an indication of whether I, personally, am able to enter in myself. As this interpretation will surely be suggested as the intended message, I've no doubt. Even so, I take solace in 1 Cor 3:15's "He himself will be saved, but only as if through the flames."
The building materials do seem to suggest some degree of time involvement depending on the chosen materials. One can throw down some straw fairly easily and quickly, for example.Much to consider assuming one takes such wake-ups seriously.
BTW, I see the one's whose work is burned mainly talking about the builders and only secondarily about those who were built upon by the builders.
IMO it points to the responsibility of the builders to use proper materials and secondarily it points to the ones being built upon having some of the responsibility for allowing the building to take place. It also points to making certain the only foundation is set and it assumes it was and that there was a duration in the building process which means in light of this thread, that one remained in the building process.
Don't agree.Jesus addressed Peter, Jesus rebuked Peter, for having in mind the things of men, and Jesus did so in summary by calling him Satan.
Calvinists believe in limited atonement. That atonement is limited to the chosen few. Hence the "L" in the tulip. They preached this to everyone. And no true Calvinist would ever believe that the gospel was only for a few. They would have read the entire Bible and know that glory is filled with a number that no man can number.
You show your ignorance. You claim that the Calvinist gospel is different. Prove it. Find 1 Calvinist on this site who believes that heaven isn't full of a number no man can number.Calvinists believe in limited atonement. That atonement is limited to the chosen few. Hence the "L" in the tulip.
