Jeremiah 49:35

"This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Behold, I will shatter Elam’s bow, the mainstay of their might."

Elam is part of modern day Iran. The bow is used to launch arrows. The bow is useless in its own right but arrows are useless without a bow. Iran has (had!) an obsolete airforce and not much of a Navy. The airforce no longer flies and most of Iran's navy has become diving wrecks. However, Iran has long ago invested in missiles. Israel and the USA forces have attacked primarily missile launchers and guidance radars. Missiles are useless without a means to launch them. I don't imagine that Iran studied Jeremiah 49:35 before putting so much emphasis on missiles. God told us what would happen about 2,600 years ago!

Do you think God is pleased with your unbelief and dullness of heart that denies his faithfulness to fulfill his word in order to project everything into the future so that you can get your dispensational rushes of excitement that prophecy is being fulfilled?

It already has been fulfilled. Elam ceased to exist in 224 AD, and God set his throne in Elam beginning with Acts 2.

There is such a thing as dual fulfillment in the Bible - a partial fulfillment in the near future relative to the announcement of the prophecy and a complete fullfillment in the future.

Yes, there are, but pharisaism abuses that hermeneutical device to serve whatever beliefs it wants, to the point of being ridiculous. Palestinians are not Amalekites. Christians are not Edom. The kingdom of Elam no longer exists. Jeremiah's prophecy was towards a kingdom, not land. Just because Iranians live on the land where the kingdom of Elam used to be doesn't mean they are Elamites. Just because some Americans live on land where the Cherokee nation used to be doesn't mean they are Cherokees, or the land is the Cherokee nation.

To be honest I don't pay much attention to the middle east prophecies.

But aren't you glad Iran can't attack the US now? Don't hate Israel to the point you want the US destroyed just for helping it.

Mat 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Mat 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Mat 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

It is here and the results will produce the one world government and the antichrist.

Do not believe everything in the news for they are making it up as a scare tactic.

Although they will have a few scuffles but they do not want to get in to a big conflict for they do not have time.

I believe WW1 and WW2 was a set up so League of Nations and United Nations could be set up to get the nations of the world to work together for peace.

Controlled conflict brings about controlled change.

League of Nations has been working from 1920 to 1946.

United Nations has been working since 1945 until now.

I believe they want a one world government now.

And using scare tactics that Iran is causing chaos in the Middle East.

And America, China, Europe, and Russia, the big dogs are all involved which will drag the world in to conflict.

It is a scare tactic to get the people of the world to want to come together as one to work for peace.

The top leaders of the Republicans and Democrats are working together.

America and Russia are working together as opposites.

Which is the Hegel System which they set up 2 opposing forces and then they harmonize them together with a balance between them which they believe is a better system than either system alone and it brings the people together.

Trump was increasing the fighting between the parties and why he is aggressive.

The top leaders of the American government are looking at the world.

So they will not care about the welfare of the people.

The nations have been working for peace on earth since 1920.

And they do not want to devastate the planet.

It is a set up like WW1 and WW2.

And the news will make stories up to get the people of the world to believe it is a serious ordeal with no choice but to have a one world government.

And add the stories of economic collapse which will cause many to suffer along with people already suffering to add to the kitty that if the people of the world agree on a one world government their needs will be met.

The New Age movement generally believes that humanity must collectively raise its consciousness, embrace "oneness," and work toward global harmony before a New Age Christ, the World Teacher, or the Christ consciousness, fully appears to inaugurate a utopian Age of Aquarius.

So they are working on that.

Although some nations governments might not embrace the new age they will want a one world government.

Which when the New Age Christ starts working in the world he will push the agenda of the new age and things will change drastically.

Which he will think to change times and laws.

Which all religions will be valid for enlightenment and betterment with a new age christianity and islam.

The religion of Islam will rebel after a while for they are stopping them preaching their religion saying it is a hate crime and it is not the truth and they want peace.

Which will escalate in to a war that kills one third of the world mostly in the Arab nations.

As they are bombed with nuclear weapons plucking them up by the roots the 6th trumpet.

After that war God said the world will not repent of their evil deeds which they will not turn to God but they keep going forth with their agenda that is contrary to operation of God.

God will then give them the antichrist to rule over them.

Glad that Iran can't attack the US now? That's what they've been doing for the past week, which they weren't doing before the US attacked them. So I don't know what your point is

So you want Iran to win? Move there then if you hate us so much. I'm sure they'll love you being Christian there. 😵‍💫

🕊

So you want Iran destroyed? What kind of Christian are you?

I thought you knew bible prophecy? Iran will be okay. They just need to be rendered unable to attack us which is why we destroyed their ability to use missiles.

You hate the US so much that you can't see we have to protect ourselves? Good grief. Really, you need to move to Iran to better appreciate how good you have it here. I came from a third world country myself and know how better off I am here.

As I said before, I dont really care about middle east prophecy, so I did an AI search. Iran will be okay though they will face judgement first.

Key Prophecies About Iran (Elam/Persia)

Jeremiah 49:34–39
is the most direct prophecy about Iran. It foretells:
  • The breaking of Elam’s bow (military might), interpreted by some as modern missile or nuclear capabilities being neutralized.
  • Scattering of the people to all nations — a pattern seen in the mass emigration of Iranians since the 1979 revolution and recent unrest.
  • God sending the sword against the king and officials, interpreted as divine judgment on the regime.
  • Restoration in the latter days — a promise that God will eventually restore the people of Elam.
"But in the latter days I will bring back the captivity of Elam, declares the Lord." (Jeremiah 49:39)

This suggests Iran will not be permanently destroyed, but rather undergo judgment followed by a future restoration.

Ezekiel 38–39 describes a future coalition of nations, including Persia (Iran), attacking Israel. However, God intervenes supernaturally to destroy the invading army. This is often linked to the "Gog and Magog" war, not self-destruction.

Daniel 11 and Isaiah 13 also reference judgment on Babylon and surrounding nations, with historical and future applications. Some interpret these as pointing to a future collapse of Iran’s regime, especially in the context of escalating tensions.

Interpretation

While the Bible does not say Iran will destroy itself, many prophecy teachers believe the current turmoil, regime instability, mass exodus, and military targeting (e.g., U.S./Israel strikes on nuclear sites) are fulfilling the prophecy of Jeremiah 49, where God breaks Elam’s military power and sends the sword against its leaders.

So this was God’s work. You're hating on the US for nothing.

Wrong. Elam is still part of what was called Persia up until 1935. You are the one that ignores prophecy, claiming that it has already been fulfilled. I care about seeing Islam destroyed and the people of Iran liberated. So does God. The prophecy, since you did not ask, includes the scattering of Iranians to the ends of the earth. That began in 1979 when the Muslims took over. it also says that God will bring them back. This war will end with the defeat of the Mullahs and Iranians will be coming back - as prophesied.

Isn't wonderful when you can spiritualise anything away, just because you do not like it. You seem to be ignorant of the fact that some prophecy has already been fulfilled, some is coming to pass now and some is still future. I do not project everything to the future. But I also know that there are some things yet to come. (Revelation 1:19).

Just nutty. Let's ignore history and get excited about prophecy now by coming up with all of these hair-brained interpretations like Elam being scattered to the 4 winds in the 20th century. smh

"Elam was an ancient civilization that existed from around 3200 BC until it was conquered by the Achaemenid Empire around 539 BC. "
