Amen! Kind of strange to talk with people who say it's all there in scripture, but then have to argue that Jesus didn't actually mean what He said, and that this bit of scripture was fulfilled in 1948, and that another bit was referring to a holocaust several years prior of a group of people much like the Pharisees but who for some reason were God's people, even though they didn't accept Jesus... No mention of 1948 or Holocausts or futuristic Pharisees in the actual bible. Maybe it's all in the Scofield bible, and that's why they say its beyond us simple folk.
Mat 24:21
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Mat 24:22
And except those days
should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
Luk 21:35
For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of
the whole earth.
What was "shortened" in 70AD? Absolutely nothing.
And the 70AD siege did NOT affect
every tribe, people, language, and nation
Here is an abbreviated list of passages that prove unequivocally that the Matt 24 prophecies are ONLY fulfilled YET FUTURE,
and affect the WHOLE EARTH.

Below is a structured, sequential list of passages in the Book of Revelation that parallel Matthew 24:21–22 and demonstrate that the tribulation affects the whole earth, not merely a local region. I arranged them in the approximate chronological flow of Revelation (seals → trumpets → beasts → Babylon → Armageddon) and highlighted the phrases showing global scope (earth, nations, kings of the earth, all peoples, etc.).
First the key verse:
Matthew 24:22
“Except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved…”
The wording “no flesh” implies a catastrophe threatening human survival globally, which Revelation repeatedly confirms through worldwide judgments and control.
1. Global impact begins in the Seal Judgments (Revelation 6)

Revelation 6:4
Peace removed from the earth
“to take peace from the earth”

Revelation 6:8
Mass death across the planet
Authority over a fourth of the earth to kill with sword, famine, and beasts.

Revelation 6:10
Persecution occurring across the whole earth
“those who dwell on the earth”

Revelation 6:15–17
Universal panic
“kings of the earth, great men, rich men…” hiding from God’s wrath.
These verses show every social class and every ruler across the earth affected.
2. Global destruction and population impact (Trumpets)

Revelation 8:7
1/3 of the earth burned

Revelation 8:8–9
1/3 of the sea destroyed

Revelation 8:10–11
1/3 of rivers poisoned

Revelation 9:15–18
1/3 of mankind killed
This is the first explicit reference to mass extinction-level casualties, supporting the meaning of “no flesh saved.”
3. The entire world ruled and deceived by the Beast

Revelation 12:9
Satan deceives the whole world.

Revelation 13:3
“All the world wondered after the beast”
1

Revelation 13:7
Authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation
1

Revelation 13:8
All who dwell on the earth worship the beast (except the elect).
1

Revelation 13:16–17
The mark forced on all people, controlling buying and selling worldwide.
These passages demonstrate global political and economic control, making the tribulation universal.
4. Babylon corrupts the entire world
1

Revelation 14:8
Babylon corrupts all nations.
1

Revelation 17:2
“kings of the earth committed fornication with her”
1

Revelation 17:15
The harlot sits over peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues
1

Revelation 18:3
“all nations drank of the wine of her fornication”
1

Revelation 18:9
“kings of the earth will mourn”
1

Revelation 18:23
“all nations deceived by your sorceries”
This shows global spiritual, economic, and political influence before Babylon falls.
5. The whole world gathers for the final war
2

Revelation 16:14
Demonic spirits gather the kings of the whole world.
2

Revelation 16:16
Armies assembled at Armageddon.
6. Final destruction of the Beast and world armies
2

Revelation 19:19
“the kings of the earth and their armies gathered to make war”
2

Revelation 19:21
Massive slaughter of the gathered armies.
Summary: Sequential chain proving global scope
Matthew 24:22 → Revelation sequence
Global war and death begin (Rev 6)
Massive planetary destruction (Rev 8–9)
Worldwide deception and rule by the Beast (Rev 12–13)
Global religious-economic system of Babylon (Rev 14, 17–18)
All nations gathered for Armageddon (Rev 16)
Destruction of the world’s armies by Christ (Rev 19)
Together they show:
All nations
All the earth
All peoples
All the world
Kings of the earth
These repeated global phrases demonstrate that the tribulation described in Matthew 24 is planet-wide, making Jesus’ statement logical:
If God did not shorten those days, humanity itself would be wiped out.
