This is an example of a true situation of spiritual warfare and we are in warfare everyday just not to such a degree. but prayer is the key and standing in the authority in Christ is how we stamp out these attacks once you understand the authority given to you in Christ nothing can touch you. But think deeply on this what actually counts as spiritual warfare? what is the best way to discern it from normal circumstances? has anyone else dealt with true spiritual warfare? how did you handle it what was your response?

My personal spiritual warfare stemmed from my desire beginning as a teenager to believe what is true.
Atheist arguments tempted me to doubt some biblical teachings, and some Christian claims were also confusing.

I have lived longly, thought deeply and prayed studiously enough that most of my doubts are resolved, but on CC
I was tempted to argue with some folks who seemed apathetic about spiritual unity until I decided to end disagreement
by betting what I believe is better and conducting systematic Bible studies of the subject (mainly TULIPism), which are available

Spiritual warefare!
The evil fights God the only one good. Fights flesh nature, not the first birth so much as against anyone born again as new by God's love and mercy of Son for them.
Okay, I go out and about doing whatever I am doing that day. Thought(s) invade, at least try to. I remain with the free choice to stand in god's done work of Son or I can go for fighting again.

So, what to do? How about thank you, thank you, thank you, evil lost, proven in risen Son. Thank you Father.

"It is Finished" As said being under Law, all the should haves, could have's better have's and better do it right next time or else?
tell yourself. who is going. to get you if you do not? Is it God or mankind. Who thinks they are in charge, in a church building?
Look "I", you and anyone else can do bad all by yourselves, correct? I assuredly do not need anyone to influence me to do bad, anyone else?

How does sin take hold of people? By the command not to do it, that is how, some become worse than others, yet that is how it is.
The Ten commandments prove this. Now the Ten Commands themselves are not bad at all. Yet whenever it flows through any first born flesh as dead to God. One fails every time reveals the need for God's lead through me thank you very much.

Yet the Law was put in place not to kill us, to show us our need for God to lead through us in God's spirit and Truth for us, since first birth flesh is already dead from Adam the first. Not of the flesh since after the Christ in the resurrection, no flesh can please Father. Proven in Son as perfect for us to be adopted in by Father and just love in the same love and mercy given us to all, not a few, thank you John 13:34

Thank you all for your responses I am inteested in everyones opinions and experiences concerning spiritual warfare and this is because it is a constant battle we fight and everyone has to deal with it to some degreee some more than others but there is a time coming and I say this with certainty where our hearts will truly be tested the wheat and the chadd will be seperated and spiritual warfare is going to increase greatly.

So I believe it is important that we understand this subject more and stand in faith against it together even on cc we battle a war of the spiritual every word spoken is not merely a post or words that reveal our inner most hearts but it comes with a spirit good or bad

I think it's important we understand that spiritual warfare is optional. It doesn't have to be a constant battle; just give it to Christ, he's our shield.

Christians need to know what verses to recite for certain situations.Could be family problems,troubles in mariage,or financial problems.
Write them down and memorize them.
Where's a few random verses for different times of need.

Psalm 141:9-10

Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.(this one ended a 5,6 hour spiritual battle vs a satanic witch as she was trying to curse me)

I've battled two huge spiritual wars this pass yr.
Robbing me of my peace, sleep and ability to hold thought. Let alone my appetite depleted greatly.
The enemy is strong and never underestimate its ability to place you at odds.
I have learned to stay still and calm remembering God's promises and focusing on them. Giving thanks to him that he is strong in our weakness.
Never let the enemy get a foot hold on your faith but remain vigilant in your stance even though it seems your fighting alone God is there to sustain you. After all it is a battle.
Calling upon the name of the Lord and waiting for his rebuke to end the attack is a lesson to learn.

The spirit man some people call him. I am talking about the holy spirit. He will defend you, rebuking the enemy. Brother Denis told me shortly after I had gotten the Holy Spirit, that Satan was going to visit me, and the spirit man, the holy spirit will defend me. It happen just as Brother Denis said it was going to happen. When I was laying on my bed sleeping, suddenly I heard the holy spirit speak out, "Hey Satan, Brasspen is going to climb _____ mountain." "THE LORD REBUKE YOU SATAN." When he spoke, it was clear as day coming from my chest. Loud and Bold.

You can see in the book of Matthew, when Jesus was tempted of the devil in the wilderness. This is another example of spiritual warfare that Jesus did. What he did was quote the scriptures. The way he did it too, was he said, "It is written..." The holy spirit brings to my mind daily, the scriptures as I need them. Reminding me of what I have learned.

In the NT, it's written that when Arch Angel was reviled by the devil, he didn't respond with disupting or ravings, he only said, "The Lord Rebuke You." So it's not about kicking and screaming, or yelling or a fight like this.

As a christian, even if the Christian don't have the holy spirit, just by being a Christian, that Christian has all dominion, authority and power, over all the enemy.

Well, it may be that. The Lord resorts to allowing spiritual attacks like in Job. Or allowing lying spirits to do his work. Only when you (or I) wont listen to the first initial stages. Remember, all knees shall bow. Even fallen spirits. They are used by God for both instances. As we saw from previous examples. But, only as extremes.

Spiritual warfare is far more common than most people realize. Most attacks are not apparent but rather subtle. The demonic studies us and tries to find our weakness, then rather than launch an open attack, the attack is more subtle. We want recognition, so a whisper in our ear suggests that doing this innocent thing will get us more recognition, we try and it does. Then the whisper suggests a further step, and we get more recognition and become more willing to listen to that whisper that "must be" the Holy Spirit. It is a spirit, but hardly holy. When this approach is used successfully on a minister, the minister will lead their entire congregation down a false path, most of the people never being directly attacked. And the subtle is the best way to do this. Tell someone 999 truths about scripture so that they will accept the one lie that ultimately twists all the truth into falsehood. Tell them even more truths if necessary to get the lie accepted. I have seen this in far too many churches. God will protect, but only as much as the believer truly wants him to. When the believer willingly listens to the demonic lie, God allows them to reap their choice.

Blain got me thinking about the spiritual warfare recently. I heard someone talking about the demons who asked to enter into the pigs. They said Jesus has all power and authority over heaven and earth. I've never really looked at it from that perspective before.

Yes it is far more common than most people think and you are absolutely right that the demonic studies us they look for any kind of weakness to exploit and then jab at that weakness and even in our thoughts they whisper to us they place suggestions in our minds and I like how you mentioned it is subtle because most of the time it is

I do think permission is required but I wonder if there are times when they just outright attack even without permission.
