I am stunned that one little island, Kharg Island, is responsible for 90% of Iran's oil exports. Talk about Achilles heel. If the US takes control of that, and there is a prophecy that the straight of Hormuz will be under the Lord's control, then they have Iran. No way the IRGC and Islamic regime survives without the income from that oil. Also if they don't control the straight they will not be able to intimidate anyone anymore.
