every year i'm teaching catholics about the hail mary prayer & it's uselessness. Matthew 28:18, Ephessians 1:22, 23, 1st Timothy 2:5, Hebrews 1:1,2, 7:25, 9:15, 12:24, Colossians 1;19, 3:17, 1st Corinthians 8:6, 10:31. 1st Timothy 2:5 says it all quite explicitly.
Has He ever said or impressed to you if your council was received by them?

No she won't because she's not in any position of authority in Heaven at all and is not involved in anybody's salvation in anyway

God used her for Jesus to come in the flesh and then she assisted with raising Jesus from a baby to the age of accountability

After that, she's no longer involved in any way shape or form.

She had to get born again like all the rest of us and she's no more important than anybody else.

All Christians are instructed to reprove brethren for wrong beliefs and behavior,
and believing she is more important than others and thus should be prayed to is what she will reprove RCs for doing.

Thank God for every expression that proceeds from the throne! As to the gifts of that same Spirit who speaks, , Unless the Spirit of the text specifically singles out like: "You twelve", the He is addressing our faith. Such as far as Acts 2:39 permits. :)

"He who has ears to hear, let him hear."(Matt 11:15, Rev 3:22)

So, the promise and that said expanse of it, calls everyone with an expectant faith to receive it.

No, Mary won't be reproving catholics for anything. She's no longer involved in any way.

Jesus Christ will be rejecting them and that will be their ultimate reproof.

The Lord is using people here on earth now to warn the catholics of their false doctrine, and most reject the warnings along with rejecting the Lord's warnings in scripture, so when they stand before the Lord they are without excuse

Thanks GWH. During Jesus' earthly ministry, he made the following statement about scriptures. He stated that they testify of him. He said that scriptures wrote of him.
  • John 5:39: "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me".
  • John 5:46: "For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me".
I think a lot of present day 'thinkers' have thought that this means only in a few places in the Old Testament. I think it is the entire Old Testament as well as New Testament, but the reason is because of Psalm 78, where we read: "...Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable..." Not everyone understands that the entire Bible is written in parable form. That is why the Bible says that "But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples." Many persons encounter the Bible but it is a parable that they do not understand. It is only a surface text to them. The New Testament is no different from the Old Testament in this respect. For example, when the Bible talks about grain, or fish, or lights in the New Testament, it is talking about people, not just the surface word. The whole Bible is like this. That is why Jesus tells us that the scriptures speak of him.

Yes, I was envisioning if Mary met those who prayed to her in heaven.

She won't be because they won't be allowed in to Heaven

Idolatry is one of the things the Lord says will cause people to not be allowed in to His Kingdom

But to your point, yes Mary would tell people to follow Jesus' instructions on prayer and point out Jesus and His Apostles never instructed anybody to pray to her.

None of which instructs anybody top pray to Marty

Yes me too ! I love the Old Testament and c it as a foreshadow of the new . At this moment in time we Christians r just like the Israelites , wandering in the wilderness waiting to b let into the promised land . We r eating the mana and being led by the pillar and the cloud ! So many things in the New come from the Old !
agree the children of Israel wandering is a foreshadowing ... they wandered in a physical wilderness ... we wander in a spiritual ... we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places ...

God took care of them in their wanderings ... God takes care of us in our wanderings.

There is also the issue of timing. If God is not speaking today then the New Testament is just another book of rules to follow. And men will manipulate the text to get it to say whatever they desire. Our enemy showed us as much: he could quote the scriptures to the Lord to make his case, but he rejected God's sovereignty over time and space.

Besides, the NT is full of the Lord leading His people in certain moments and to certain areas (and to avoid others). If the Lord is not speaking directly to people today then the people will use their own historical templates to decide what to do and when.... no different than the moral heathens.

As an anecdote I don't recall even NOT speaking with the Lord. I used to rest in the bows of trees just talking with Him about my day when I was a wee lad. I certainly know what life is like ignoring Him but He's been with me as long as I remember.

I talk to God all the time ... not just in my prayer time, but throughout the day ... whatever is going on ... good, bad, mundane ... bringing God into the situation, including Him in what's going on ... the only thing I can think of that could be better is the time when I will see Him face to face.

I trust that you realize that in official Lutheran doctrine, prayers to Mary are acceptable. I am not certain about other protestant denominations, but at least some I suspect also officially take a similar stance.

God has a different idea.

No wandering, just stick close to Him and obey
God tells us this world is not our home (Phil 3:20) ... as long as we are wandering in this world, God provides all we need to endure and withstand the wiles of the adversary.

God has a different idea while we are living on earth

No wandering sway from Him, just stick close to Him and obey

And He has provided a way for us to not just endure and withstand the attacks of the devil, but to be victorious over the devil.

We're called to be like Jesus and the devil never could defeat Jesus because Jesus walked in victory never giving place to the devil.

Jesus is our standard, not anybody else.

God tells us we are pilgrims on this earth (Heb 11:13) ... we do not wander away from God ... we wander this earth with God (Heb 11:37) ... we go where He leads.

We are instructed to stand and withstand the wiles of the devil:

Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Jesus is our standard, not anybody else.
I never said otherwise.

Don't bury the lead, which is that the HS inspired the OT before the NT,
although it was not revealed that He indwelt believers until Acts 2:4 &38 and Rom. 5:5 & 8:9.
  • Numbers 11:25–26 — God puts HisSpirit on the seventy elders so thatthey prophesy.
  • Judges 3:10; 6:34; 11:29; 13:25 — theSpirit of the Lord comes upon judges(e.g., Othniel, Gideon, Jephthah,Samson).
  • 1 Samuel 10:6–10; 16:13–14 — the Spiritof the Lord comes upon Saul; Samuelanoints David and the Spirit comes onhim.
  • 2 Samuel 23:2 — “The Spirit of theLORD spoke by me, and his word wason my tongue” (David).

Yes, "on" in the OT; "in" in the NT.

God tells us we are pilgrims on this earth (Heb 11:13) ... we do not wander away from God ... we wander this earth with God (Heb 11:37) ... we go where He leads.

Then we wouldn't be wandering, we'd be right where we be supposed to be at.

The word "wander" means to travel, to roam. We are just like those spoken of in Hebrews 11 ... we are pilgrims and we travel/roam/wander in this world as God leads us.

Jesus walked in victory never giving place to the devil so He was victorious over the devil's wiles and so should we be
And Ephesians 6 gives instruction that we are to stand and withstand.

What is often forgotten is that as pilgrims we wander someplace that is not our home, rather our home is elsewhere, no matter how long we live in a specific area during our wanderings.

And we are called to stand and withstand, but we need to follow through. A soldier in battle might be told to hold their position and assured that the full weight of the rest of the army is behind them so they can withstand the enemy's attack, but that does not mean that any specific individual soldier will not run instead of standing,
