People say the prices are going up for things, but I think you will find out we will have more money in our pocket, which will more than makeup for higher prices. The deficit is like, more important than us paying higher price for things at the store. And with us no longer paying an unfair tax bracket, things will just get a-lot better. All possible with the tariff. Don't forget that many of us might get a 2k dividend each year.

We will not be paying the same prices, because of the unfair tax bracket. When the super rich super markets no longer have to pay a 80% tax rate, things can change.

The Big farmers have 80% tax bracket, the farmer has to keep he's tool in working order, plant new seeds and then harvest, and with a 80% tax bracket that means he has to charge really high prices. That means the super market pays a high price for things like bread and meat. Because the super market is paying 80% tax rate, that means the consumer who are cheap and poor, have a higher price tag.

Taxing income is a disincentive. It stunts productivity. Taxes are also used as a weapon to punish people like mmdani is doing in NY and Democrats have done for decades

We pay taxes in the UK of course and , our government lets us know exactly what our taxes r paying for and quite a lot of what we pay for is pretty essential stuff , if we didn't pay taxes how would these services b paid for ? Not exactly. But if funds were specified rather than generalized, it would reflect the care of those the live on the street with all the potholes rather than the care of 'the city.' For instance, I'd have thought that the streets in Lexner's district would've been of the best in all the world, but nobody knows for sure where his money actually went to...

Well, we had all these things years before we had the taxes "needed" to pay for them. Our problem is that the politicians keep finding ever more incredible ways to spend money.

If we eliminated the fraud (it will never happen) it would free up billions. If we quit funding the illegal immigration, it would free up billions (we won't do that either). If we did away with entitlements, that would save billions (we sure won't do that one).

It's not the subject of this thread, but we need a convention of states under Article V in the constitution. We need to force term limits, age limits, and foreign aid, entitlements, and get this thing back under control. No, we won't do that either. I'm afraid this mess is too far gone!

What the President has said about this, is the Tariff will be more than enough to pay for all those taxes, that the earned income tax will not be needed anymore.

The fairest tax is a sales tax. Easiest to administer which saves money. It is also the most flexible. You could have 0 sales tax on things like milk and bread, while luxury items would get a slightly higher sales tax. On average the sales tax would come to 40% of the price of the item you are buying. That doesn't mean things would get more expensive, those taxes are already baked into the price of the goods you buy.

Whenever I hear people complaining about so-called “hustler” in the business world, I think, no, the real and most extreme hustler is the government. Because it has its fingers in everything, no matter what you do. Sales tax is the worst. You can't buy a single loaf of bread without the government “earning” its cut. Of course, the governments needs money to carry out its duties. But it’s gotten way out of hand. The governments has taken on far too many responsibilities, and money is being wasted in all sorts of places.
