I've only seen the part with Asian Jim, cos there was a reference, and I wanted to know what happened lol.

Otherwise...no.

But I have seen Fresh off the Boat..and that was pretty good. Ok they are Taiwanese, but pretty close to my experience. I mean as immigrant families go. The mum Jessica was funny. Though my mum wasn't like that, well, in some ways, worse, cos I was a daughter not a beloved son.

What show do I watch again and again. Hmm. I loved Kath and Kim when it was on. So funny. What did I dislike about it? That it ended.
Kath and Kim OG Australian version. Not the American rip-off. I don't even know how that would screen. How could they play Kath and Kim, the essence of Ozziness?

What the Americans did best - The Simpsons. But only up to season...6? 7? 8? I was with it from the start. Before it jumped the shark for me.

Threes company, it’s old for sure but I always find myself laughing. I could watch it over and over. Love every dynamic of it. After awhile though it does become predictable as most sitcoms do.

Fave all-time series Long Lost Family UK. It's a real life show about adoptees who want to find their birth parents/siblings and also there's parents who want to find a child they had to give up for adoption. It's very heartwarming and the lady & man who host it do a lovely job with the interviewing and search. It's usually the case that the child apopted out, when found, looks the most like one of the parents.

There's this guy that I've kept in touch with but I met him here. He's my best friend and we continuously watch The Office the past ten years of knowing each other :x

Now, what's Fresh off the Boat and Kath and Kim about? Do they stream anywhere?

Aw, I love that so much. I don't cry much at all, but, I would definitely get emotional watching that!

Me, a couple categories would be Christian (TBN and listening to fave faith preachers), and mystery movie who-dunnits like anything Agatha Christie, Columbo, Hallmark Mystery & Romance movies. I'll have to try The Office now to see what's up, lol.
 
Fresh off the boat - I watched this on you-tube. It's a sitcom set in the 90s Orlando Florida. It's about a Taiwanese family, the parents are from Taiwan (or more the mum) and the children, 3 boys, are born in the US. They have to adapt to life in suburbia of Florida where there are hardly any Chinese/Asian people.
It's based on a memoir by Eddie Huang of the same title. The oldest son is Eddie, and he's into gangsta rap and being urban and badass, while his younger brothers are sweeties who are the good chinese boys who obey their parents.
It's very funny but kind of sweet too as its about family. There's also a Grandma who doesn't speak any English, and their friendly and annoying neighbours who know nothing about Chinese culture.

The real Eddie Huang wasn't too pleased they'd sanitised his memoir and made it into the sitcom it was..but that's what tv does, to make it entertaining. Although there are moments of culture clash or things only asians would get...! BTW while the most of the cast is Chinese, Randall Park, the guy that plays the Dad is actually Korean. He has to pretend/act Chinese. A lot of people cannot tell the difference. But if you know, you know.

Kath and Kim is an aussie tv show about a mother and daughter - Kath and Kim. The daughter Kim is a spoiled brat who got married but having problems with her marriage (to Brett, a loving husband but a bit clueless) so moves back in with her mother Kath.
Problem is Kath is now seeing boyfriend Kel, and Kim and Kel don't get along.
(Kim's dad is out of the picture, he left Kath to raise her daughter on her own, with plenty of money though).
The humour comes from the pair Kath and Kim and the way they speak and mangle the English language, and the embarassing things they do, well you need to watch it, it's hilarious. They are characters, but lovable ones. Kim has a 'second best' friend called Sharon, who always comes over to chat with 'Mrs D'.
They live in the suburbs, called Fountain Lake in Melbourne.

My favourite episode is the one where Kath and Kel get stuck at the airport and decide to just have a holiday at the airport.
It's now on Netflix. Its a bit old now but a lot of my favourites are older.

Specifically tv I wouldn’t say much, but I do love a good series. I feel like they’re getting so much harder to find theses days.., or maybe it’s just me and I’m crazy

I like comedies.
I watch other kinds of tv too, dramas etc but I wouldn't want to watch dramas over and over.
Reality tv...give it a miss. You aren't missing anything! Have enough of it at home.
Game shows. No. Sports. no. News...Hell no.

I probably had tv programmed into me when I was born (80s) as by that time everyone was watching it. Called the idiot box for a reason and possibly have blue light radiation from it. My first memory is Sesame Street, followed by Playschool, a succession of violent and crazy cartoons (thanks Looney Tunes, Walt Disney, Tom and Jerry) soap operas, american talk shows (all terrible) news at 6, game shows, prime time sitcoms, dramas, movies, late shows, news at 10, infomercials...then back to breakfast shows. MTV showed music videos and that was a novelty for a time. They were real works of art, some of them.

Your eyes basically went square from all the tv watching and advertising commercial breaks. I don't know what everyone else would have done to entertain themselves had we no tv...read books??

The only thing really worth watching that I think is probably the most edifiying and practical would be the cooking shows (not the game ones but the ones that actually show you how to make meals) and the gardening shows. Maybe documentary for those serious minded (60 minutes, not Hard Copy) A good tv series (drama or sitcom) is a mini series that doesn't go on for too long. I would say 3-6 seasons max. After that everyone is just recycling plots to keep ratings up.

Oh and love him or hate him. Mr Bean. I'm picking love, cos Teddy.
 
What I tend to watch the most are mysteries and true crime documentaries.

The ones I watch over and over? Murder, She Wrote, Piorot, Rosemary & Thyme, Death In Paradise (and it's varous spin-offs), Murder In...., Alexandra Ehle, The Art of Crime, Captain Marleau, Detectives.

For true crime documentaries, I watch Homicide Hunter, long-running series Forensic Files, a lot of true crime shows on Investigation Discovery streaming in Amazon Prime, as well as A&E.

For sitcoms, I love Keeping Up Appearances. That is such a hilarious show! I also love Allo' Allo'! It's about a French cafe in Nazi occupied France during WWII. It's brilliantly funny!

I also watch TURN: Washington's Spies too. I used to live in both NYC and Long Island where the series was set. It's an alternative history but is fun to watch for the pure nostalga it gives me!

Let's see. Horrible histories is the show I will rewatch just to watch some entertaining (and educational) fluff. And I think I enjoyed the lighter tone of a lot of the mid 2000's to 2010 USA network dramas / dramedies. And then there's the well I'll call it treasure hunting genre of shows like storage wars or antiques roadshow which I'll watch. And random british comedies because for some reason I like them more than US comedies.

I have only watched the original UK version and loved it , will get around to the U.S.A. version eventually I'm sure .

We loved Cath and Kim , favourite Australia show is defo Prisoner Cell Block H . Also love Australian films .

Horrible Histories is awesome ! Just finished watching One Foot in the Grave , it's very funny , if u haven't seen it give it a few episodes , hubby and I realised that we have turned into the main characters 🙀 .
 
I like medieval shows. I love studying fiction o real history about countries, nations, and empires.
There are so many shows of this kind I love I can't name them all.

Scottish history is very interesting.
The rise of the Plantagenets and the regency of the Tudors are also interesting.
Maryland, Virginia, the whole of New England in the US has also interesting history specially in the birth of the United States.
Roman History is the hardest for me since it is too vast and structured.

I am not exactly an complete expert in these topics, but I love reading about them.

Of course, I love reading about Biblical Battles like the ones Gideon and David led. I like to study the antagonist characters of the Bible like Jeroboam, Joab, King Pekah, King Omri (A very interesting character in regular history.)
