No you won't listen carefully you will quote the verse below.

Matthew 19:17
And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you
wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

You know better because that young girl in Battle Creek told you so.
you cant define it, I knew that already. Nice try to deflect a simple question. the worst of all this is that you know the answer you simply cannot accept it. Are Jesus words not enough for you.

Sunday worship being the mark of the beast

The sabbath being the seal of God
The first 2...doctrines

Let's talk about the seal of God...
The seal or mark of God is given to the faith but the make of the beast is recieved by the lost .
It's obvious that we have one or the other.. the mark of the beast or the mark of God.

God has given us His physical seal or mark in His commandments.
A seal is made up of
the lawgivers name,
his title
and his area of rulership or dominion.

the Sabbath commandment is the only place you will find all three of these..

The Lord thy God...Name
The Lord thy creator ...Title
the Heavens and the Earth. ...area of Rule

The holy sabbath day commandment has all that is needed to make it the seal of God. Even though God's seal is physically written in the 4th commandment. It is written in our foreheads because we spiritually choose to obey. The law is Spiritual. Rom 7:14
It is a sign between God and His people.

Eze 20:12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.

Eze 20:20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.

The mark of the beast.
This is not a literal or physical mark. But an invisible representation of who we choose to worship. It is about who we serve and a barcode or stamp does not accurately show our spiritual allegiance.
But to identify the mark we must identify the beast.
First we need to identify the beast.

The first beast of Revelation 13 also known as the leopard-like beast, is identified as the papacy through a series of specific prophetic markers that distinguish it from all other earthly powers. This power represents the Roman Church as an ecclesiastical body clothed with civil authority to enforce its decrees and punish dissenters

The identity of this beast is established by its connection to previous world empires and its specific manner of emergence: you really need to read Dan 7 and Rev 13....

The beast possesses the mouth of a lion, the feet of a bear, and the body of a leopard, signifying that it absorbed the territories and characteristics of Babylon, Medo-Persia, and Grecia Revelation 13:2

It received its "power, and his seat, and great authority" from the dragon, which symbolizes Pagan Rome Revelation 13:2
Specifically, this transfer occurred when the seat of the empire moved to Constantinople and the Bishop of Rome ascended a throne in the city of Rome.

Its ten horns identify it with the fourth beast of Daniel 7 representing the ten kingdoms of the Western Roman Empire Daniel 7:7 .

Next The beast is defined by its self-exaltation and its attempts to alter divine mandates:
It has a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, ascribing to itself titles and authority that belong only to God Revelation 13:5-6
A primary characteristic of this power is that it would "think to change times and laws," specifically substituting the seventh-day Sabbath with Sunday observance Daniel 7:25

Because it exalts its own laws above the law of God, it is identified by Paul as the "man of sin" and the "mystery of iniquity" 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 it claims to even forgive sin. Blasphemy.

The 1260-Year Reign
The prophecy provides a specific chronological timeframe for the beast's undisputed supremacy:
The beast was given power to continue for "forty and two months," which represents 1260 prophetic days (= years) Revelation 13:5

This period began in 538 A.D. when the decree of Justinian made the Pope the head of all churches and the last Arian opposition (the Goths) was removed from Italy
Exactly 1260 years later, in 1798, the French General Berthier entered Rome, took the Pope prisoner, and abolished the papal government, thus fulfilling the prophecy that he who leads into captivity shall go into captivity Revelation 13:10

The most striking identifier of the first beast is its apparent death and subsequent revival.
The Deadly Wound refers to the events of 1798, where the papal head of the Roman government was "as it were wounded to death" by the sword of the French army Revelation 13:3
But The "healing" began with the restoration of the papacy and continues as the world again recognizes its civil and religious influence.

The prophecy declares that once the wound is fully healed, "all the world wondered after the beast," leading to a final crisis of universal worship and allegiance Revelation 13:3, 8

Throughout its history, the beast is identified by its opposition to God's faithful people. It killed millions.

It was given power to "overcome the saints," a specification fulfilled through the Inquisition, crusades, and the martyrdom of millions of Christians during the Dark Ages Revelation 13:7

There will be Victory Over the Beast by God's people, Spiritual victory.
The final conflict identifies those who refuse to honor the beast as those who "keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus" Revelation 14:12
These faithful ones are eventually seen standing on the sea of glass, having gotten the victory over the beast and his mark Revelation 15:2

It is clear that the first beast of Rev 13 is Papal Rome. Not pagan Rome. Or some future power.

The identifying marks given in Daniel and Rev all point to papal Rome.

So what is the mark of the Beast?

Just as the Sabbath is God’s sign of His creative power and authority, the mark of the beast is a rival or counterfeit sign representing the authority of the Roman Church. A Sign of its own Authority.

The mark is not a literal physical brand but a public profession of allegiance or an act of obedience to human laws over God's law, specifically involving the counterfeit sabbath. Choose you this day who you will serve....

We ask the papacy a question.... “Did you really change Sabbath to Sunday?” She replies, “Yes, we did. It is our symbol, or mark, of authority and power".

Protestants ... accept Sunday rather than Saturday as the day for public worship after the Catholic Church made the change... But the Protestant mind does not seem to realize that ... in observing Sunday, they are accepting the authority of the spokesman for the Church, the pope.
—Our Sunday Visitor, February 5th, 1950.

Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act. And the act is a mark of her ecclesiastical power and authority in religious matters.
—C. F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons, in answer to a letter regarding the change of the Sabbath, November 11, 1895.

The act is a mark of her ecclesiastical power and authority in religious matters.

If the beast is the papal church and her mark of power is Sunday worship it is clear... what the mark of the beast is.

Follow Jesus and be a Commandment Keepers. Those who avoid the mark are characterized by keeping "the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus" Revelation 14:12
The two-horned beast, identified as the United States, is the power that will enforce this mark through civil law.. (watch this space)

choosing between mans laws and Gods laws, between being faithful to God or faithful to the world will be the test. This enforcement occurs when Sunday observance is mandated by law, which Rome claims as a special mark of her ecclesiastical power and supremacy.

hope this helps you to understand.
I didn't put lots of details that gives much more weight to this doctrine due to space. The link below is a good study.

Amalgamation of man and beast.
Not sure exactly what you mean by this but I'll just say...
The sda church believes this is evil and wrong in every way.
The shut door = the close of probation.
A time when we can not longer be forgiven. At death we are no longer able to ask for forgiveness. And there is a time in the future.
Rev 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Soul sleep

The seal or mark of God is given to the faith but the make of the beast is recieved by the lost .
It's obvious that we have one or the other.. the mark of the beast or the mark of God.
Here's another simple way to also see this.....

We are saved by faith, anything not of faith is sin. Like we should obey 9 commandments when God wrote Ten Deut 4:13 forgetting the only commandment God said Remember.

The God of the bible personally invited everyone to serve Him- this cannot be made more plain and part of the condition was to keep the Sabbath

Isa 56:6 Also the sons of the foreigner (Gentiles)
Who join themselves to the LORD,
to serve Him,
And to love the name of the LORD,
to be His servants
Everyone
who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And holds fast My covenant—

If we are a servant of God we are keeping the Sabbath and why would we want to work on God's holy day, when we can rest with God, just as He did as we are called to Heb4:10 Heb4:4 spending the day in communion with Him without all the distractions and worries of the world and just focus on God Isa58:13 so He can bless Isa56:2 and sanctify us Eze20:12 because we can't do this ourselves. Isa66:17 the Sabbath shows our dependence on our Creator and shows His voice is the one we serve above all others Eze20:20 the only God we are called to worship Rev14:7

In the end we will either be sealed by God or by default will accept the mark of the beast and worship the beast which is a government authority over the authority of God. The mark of the beast is over our worship- false worship Jesus related to laying aside God's commandments for mans traditions Mat15:3-14 Mark7:7-13

This is who God says He seals:

Rev 7:3 saying, “Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.”

How did God personally invite us to serve Him?

Isa 56:6 Also the sons of the foreigner (Gentiles)
Who join themselves to the LORD,
to serve Him,
And to love the name of the LORD,
to be His servants
Everyone
who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And holds fast My covenant—

Why in the last days we are told by the angel who said in a loud voice:

Rev 14:7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come;
and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”

To worship our Creator who made

Exo 20:11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

The Sabbath is the sign God gave between Him and His people - because we serve Him and worship the God of Creation

Eze 20:20 hallow My Sabbaths, and they will be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God.’

Instead of worshipping another god

Eze 20"16 because they despised My judgments and did not walk in My statutes, but profaned My Sabbaths; for their heart went after their idols.

There are two groups in the end:

Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

Or the antidote found in the next verse

12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

Just as God asked in His Testimony

Exo 20:6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

Yes, Jesus taught this plainly......

John 11:9 Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. 10 But if one walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.” 11;These things He said, and after that He said to them, Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up.”

12 Then His disciples said, “Lord, if he sleeps he will get well.” 13 However, Jesus spoke of his death, but they thought that He was speaking about taking rest in sleep.

14 Then Jesus said to them plainly, “Lazarus is dead.

Jesus not SDA not EGW taught when we die we sleep.

Why because the first death is not the one that counts.

Mat 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Because those who sleeps in Jesus who raise again at His Second Coming

1 Thess 4:13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope
14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus
15For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep
16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first
17Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord

Your claiming that the Gentiles had the law and the covenants which they did not. Prove it from the scripture. Romans 9:4-5
( @Just_A__Follower & @Cameron143 & @Gideon300 & @Psalm1 & @pinebeach & @HealthAndHappiness & et al ... )

In the New Testament, Gentiles are invited into the covenant through faith in Jesus Christ, making them heirs of the promises once given to Israel. This adoption is emphasized in the following scripture:

Romans 9:4-5: "The Israelites, to whom belong the adoption as sons, the glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship, and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah, who is God over all, forever praised. Amen."

This verse explains that Israel received the adoption as God's children and the covenants, including the promise of a Messiah. The Gentiles, through faith in Christ, share in these promises, grafted into this family.

Romans 11:17-18: "If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches."

Here, Paul uses the imagery of an olive tree to describe how Gentiles, like wild branches, are grafted into the covenant community of Israel. They are adopted into God's people through faith in Jesus.

Furthermore, Gentiles are called to obey God's commandments, including the Ten Commandments, as a natural response to their adoption. The law is written in the hearts of all believers, as seen in:

Jeremiah 31:33: "'This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,' declares the Lord. 'I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.'"

This prophecy points to the new covenant, where the law, particularly the Ten Commandments, is not only external but is internalized by the Holy Spirit in the hearts of believers.

John 14:15: "If you love me, keep my commandments."
Jesus clearly teaches that love for Him is demonstrated by obedience to His commandments.

1 John 5:3: "In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome."
The apostle John emphasizes that keeping God’s commandments is an expression of love for God, and through Christ, this obedience becomes a joyful part of the believer's life.

Through faith in Jesus Christ, Gentiles are not only adopted into the covenant but are also empowered by the Holy Spirit to obey God's law, including the Ten Commandments, as a natural expression of their love and gratitude for God's grace. This emphasized the importance of obedience to God's law as a result of salvation by grace.

In summary, the Gentiles, by being grafted into God's covenant through Christ, are called to live obediently, reflecting the moral law written on their hearts. This obedience is made possible by the indwelling Holy Spirit, ensuring that they, like Israel, can live in covenant relationship with God.

And as for myself; "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith OF the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." Amen !!

Romans 14:5—
One man esteems one day as more important. Another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks. He who doesn’t eat, to the Lord he doesn’t eat, and gives God thanks.
Hey there Ceph!

Romans 14 is not speaking about the statutes, commandments, and laws in the Book of the Law.

How do we know?

Because Rom 14:1 says "do not have disputes over differing opinions".

Differing opinions about what?

To answer that let's look at the first example in Rom 14:2. It says, " One person believes in eating everything, but the weak person eats only vegetables."

You see? They were not arguing over opinions about what the word of God says. How do we know?

Because know where it is stated in the Book of the Law that we are to only eat vegetables.

Rom 14:1 Now receive the one who is weak in the faith, and do not have disputes over differing opinions.
Rom 14:2 One person believes in eating everything, but the weak person eats only vegetables.

14:13—

Therefore let’s not judge one another any more, but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block in his brother’s way, or an occasion for falling. I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean of itself; except that to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
The reason many get confused here is a translation issue. The word translated in the KJV and many more is the word that is most often translated common. And sometimes unholy or defile.

If we are just looking at the KJV, which is my most used translation we will see out of the 10 times it is used only in one verse is it translated unclean. Here are the verses.

Mark 7:2 And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
Acts 2:44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
Acts 4:32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
Acts 10:14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
Acts 10:28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
Acts 11:8 But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.
Rom 14:14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
Titus 1:4 To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

What is interesting is the word that means unclean and the word in question that means common are used together in Acts 10:14. There a distinction between the two is made by the use of the word "or" . This word is a primary particle that is used to make a distinction between two connected terms in a clause.

After seeing in the vision ALL manner of fourfooted beast and creeping things, and fowls of the air and being commanded to arise and eat; Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

This means out of all manner of beast that he seen all he seen was animals that were common or unclean. As confirmed by God in the Book of the Law. An unclean animal was unclean by design. But an animal that was common, impure or defiled was by circumstances. According to the Book of the Law people and what not can be made impure by touching, intermingling with the unclean or other impure things. Here are some verses that share this.

Lev 7:21; Lev 11:24; Lev 11:28; Lev 11:31; Lev 11:39; Num 19:11-16; Deut 14:8; Isa 52:11; Hag 2:13

One more thing before we finish my friend. After Peter says to the Lord our God that he has never eaten anything common OR unclean the Lord our God rebukes and says, what the Lord has cleansed call not common.

In this rebuke it should be noted the Lord our God NEVER mentions anything about cleansing the unclean. He only mentions cleansing the common. Couple that with the fact that when Peter realized what the vision was about, what did he say it was about?

He said in Acts 10:28 Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

Here are couple translations that translated it correctly.

Rom 14:14 (MLV) I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is profane of itself: except to him who reckons something to be profane, to him it is profane.
Rom 14:14 (SLT) I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing common by itself; except to any one reckoning to be common, to that one it is common.
Rom 14:14 (AUV) As one who is in [fellowship with] the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that nothing in itself is [ceremonially] unclean. But to the person who considers something [ceremonially] unclean, it then becomes unclean to him.

God made the sabbath for men, e.g. a master must let their slave have a day of rest.
The Sabbath that remains is the day after the great judgment, when no one will have to work any more.

Not sure where you are getting that from. Care to expound from Scripture?

May the Lord our God bless us all in His Way, Jesus Christ.

Take care

You imagine that God gave the Law that kills to those who are made alive by Christ so that the slightest disobedience kills them again? Is your God so minute that He is totally embodied in 10 commandments? Lord Jesus dispelled that false idea during the Sermon on the Mount. And why stop at 10? Israel - yes Israel, not the gentiles - was given 613 commandments. I know some legalists believe we must keep all 613. Of course, this is impossible in this day and age.

Lord Jesus lives in the believer to be the believer's life.

"For through the law I died to the law so that I might live to God." Galatians 2:19.

"Therefore, my brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God." Romans 7:4

"But now, having died to what bound us, we have been released from the law, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code." Romans 7:6

".......by abolishing in His flesh the law of commandments and decrees." Ephesians 2:15

"Therefore no one will be justified in His sight by works of the law. For the law merely brings awareness of sin." Romans 3:20

"All who rely on works of the law are under a curse. For it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” Galatians 3:10

Don't tell me that you always do everything written in the Book of the Law. So you are cursed. I'm not saying that, God's words says that. And that applies to your fellow legalists.

I've tried to be reasonable with the SDA and those who promote the Law at the expense of grace. It's achieved nothing. So I'll let God's word tell you all like it is.

The least I can do to be a Christian, is follow, believe and give up, "myself" by LOVE, to HIM ~~

I am surprised you did not bring up the greatest commandment.
Love.
Jesus said to walk in it, and the others are automatic.
That is WHY the new covenant is better.

But it goes beyond all that.

You are thinking that if we do not carry the 10 commandments list in our pocket and mechanically check each one off every 10 minutes, we are against the 10 commandments.

The principle of the new covenant is that the perfect one lives in me.

IOW, THE WRITER of the 10 commandments is greater than his list.
The writer of the 10 commandments knows them and keeps them.
The writer of the 10 commandments, in his testimony, and the power of the Holy Spirit, helps me via power.
If I break one of them, conviction follows.

BUT IT WAS NOT THE LIST HE BRINGS .
It is that something is now missing.

By sin, and through sin, I BREAK FELLOWSHIP.

I DO NOT NEED A LIST.

If you do, something is really really wrong.

Rev 14:7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come;
and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”

We are not saved by faith. We are saved by grace, through faith. You can't even get that fundamental right. Salvation by grace is clearly stated in God's word. You should check it out sometime.

No one is saved without faith

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

We are saved by grace though faith. Faith is a big word, not a small one. Faith does not void the law but establishes the law Rom3:31

Nor does grace give us a pass to break the law of God and sin 1John3:4 James2:10-12.

Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?

SDA are one day a week Christians that preach an alternate gospel.

A gospel based on the law.

Obey the sabbath or die.
That's very judgemental.

I can't speak for most Sda’s around the would but I know the church promotes a continual relationship with Jesus.
daily study and constant prayer.

The church does not teach that the law can save us, or redeem us from sin.

But we do promote the obedience to the law because transgression results in sin and sin is what results in death and suffering for us, for our neighbors, and it put Jesus on the cross.

1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

It isn't to earn salvation or gain favour. It isn't about self but because you LOVE GOD. Love is the motivation to obey. Love motivated by understanding the gospel message.

The gospel that SDA's preach is basically salvation by faith + obeying the 10 commandments (with a heavy emphasis on the 4th commandment). Salvation by grace plus law, faith plus works. Here is a statement below in blue from an SDA who is a former member of Christian Chat which proves my point:

The counterfeit Gospel is out there. What is the other Gospel? It is a Gospel that tries to separate God's Law (10 commandments) from the Cross. It is a Gospel that tries to separate God's 10 commandments from the plan of salvation. God’s Law has always been part of the true Gospel of Christ. The counterfeit Gospel does not have it. God's forever Law (the 10 commandments) is the foundation of both the Old and the New Covenant and the very foundation and basis of the true Gospel of Christ.

The plan of salvation is God saving His people from their sins Mat1:21, not in their sins which leads people on the wrong path Heb10:26-28. He who covers His sins will not prosper, he who confesses will have mercy Pro28:13 If the Spirit has not fully transformed our lives where we do not want to live in in any longer Rom6:1-4 we should serious ask God to change our mindset to do His will over our own. Because Jesus said not everyone who says LORD LORD will enter into heaven those who does the will of God. Mat7:21-22 those who continue in sin or lawlessness He will say I do not know you depart from Me Mat7:23

Why would someone in Christ want to disobey what God asks if we love Him Exo20:6 John14:15 1John5:3 but instead live in sin not subjecting ourselves to the law of God Rom8:7-8 living in the flesh that cannot please God.

The attack against the law of God that we can disobey God and live is the same lie that started in the garden that sadly has been deceiving people ever since.

The Authentic Gospel says, "Take courage, son; your sins are forgiven (Matt 9:2)."

Not sure where you are getting that from. Care to expound from Scripture?
I infer that because of Gods mercy and love for all men, and the fact that the Law was given because of transgressions.
And God made man upright, but they invent many schemes. Love is the first spirit that teaches the Law without letters.

Health laws still binding ....

This is simply a matter of believing that God wants us to look after our health.

SDA'S believe God will give us new bodies at His second coming.
1Co 15:52-53
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

But this does not mean we should neglect or hurt the bodies God has given us.

We are the temple of the Living God and our mental, physical and Spiritual health are all connected. And all important.

God is perfect and knows what is best for our health. He gave us laws that are for our health so we should listen and obey.
Old or new Testament the body has not changed
No one has proven God wrong.
