I dunno is it?
When I was 14-15 I couldn't afford to go anywhere. Dating was unheard of.
Us teens or younger if were were called it 'going round' with someone, which meant walking round the school holding hands.
I'm sure parents arranged 'play dates' but mine never did.

Maybe you could have gone to an R13 movie, but too young for the R16 back in the day they had movies that you went out to see. i,e, not on TV.

I went with a girlfriend to knotts scary farm when I was in 7th grade, I guess that was my first date.
My next date after that was in 9th or 10th grade, and I went and saw a movie with my date. I think the movie was "Cheaper By the Dozen".....
Fast forward to summer between 11th and 12th grade, I went on a date with my first girlfriend to see the movie "Mr. and Mrs.' Smith"....

I know kids these days, especially where I live, are basically "doing the do" in high school bathrooms from what my brother tells me (who is 18 years old).

I recommend waiting till you are 25 to date, but that is just my recommendation. Some people mature faster, but I definitely was very immature as a young adult.

What is 'doing the do' ? Sounds smelly.
I would be - what high school did you go to? Sounds unsanitary, and if there aren't girls and boys separate bathrooms (or actually toilets) I don't know what to say.

I worked in a public library where we had to lock the toilet and only let people in who asked for the key (one at a time). Because of DRUGS. Also, some people thought it was fun to steal all the toilet paper.
Separate ladies and mens. Why? I don't have to tell you why. Good Lord.

I went to Villa Park High School. My brother goes to Dominguez Preparatory School, where there are all sorts of shananigans going on, from what I hear, mainly drugs. He was going to a few schools in San Pedro, where sexual activity was taking place, from what my brother was telling me...He was so bothered by all of it that we took him out of that school and transferred him to Dominguez Preparatory School, where he'll be graduating this June.

My first movie date ...was...Monsters Inc, I think it was. I was...21? 22? I remember going on dates to see movies, though I would pick and he would pay.

I don't know why I picked Monsters Inc. Maybe I was seeing if he could handle Pixar animation, after I said he was too old after he tried to talk to me about Star Wars.

I remember when my (girl) friend turned 13, she wanted to see a more grown up movie for her birthday, and she wanted me to come with her, so she chose Death Becomes Her. That traumatised me! Even today the memories of Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep having plastic surgery haunt me. It would have been R13. Or maybe M. Because I would have been just 12 then.

My other (girl) friend - look girls go out with each other when we are teens it's called being friends - and I suppose it's a 'date' but yea dating is not only for the purposes of courtship. That is some messed up Christian purity teaching there. Anyway. She chose 'I know what you did Last Summer'. She was genuinely scared and freaked out by it and everytime the body count got higher, she would shiver and hold on to me. But it wasn't that scary. It was meant to be horror movie scary, which isn't scary cos we know it isn't real. I think at the time I was...17-18? So it was probably an R16 movie.

Looking back on it I am a bit sad because a tragic thing happened to her and it was a bit like a horror movie. She didn't even make it past 25.

Here's one I would recommend if you are under 12 - My Girl. I saw that when I was...11? With my friend from school (and her mum and little sister) it had Macauley Culkin and Anna Chlumsky in it and that was adorable.

So if you are 14-15 -what are you doing on the Singles Forum? Shouldn't you be in the Teens forum??? I would say go to a movie with a bunch of friends. If it's a mixed boys and girls group, maybe the ones that like each other can sit together- It could be like a double date. Choose a funny movie, not a horror movie. Maybe even SpongeBob squarepants. IDK. Nobody will fake ID you. And you can throw popcorn in each others mouths.

I don’t know if it is

Hey, Theblazer, welcome to the site!

The Bible does not give us an exact age to start dating. Actually, the Bible does not have a lot to say about dating in general, but it does say that being attracted to the opposite sex is normal and part of God's plan for humans 😎👍

My personal opinion (as someone who is around teenagers a lot), is that 14&15 year-olds are generally not ready for one-on-one dates. But it's a good age to learn how to talk to the opposite sex without being cringe or choking on your own spit.

So make some effort to get to know the young ladies in your circle. Talk to them at youth group, open doors for them (and the older ladies too, trust me the girls are always watching! 😉). Just in general work on being a respectable young man and take mental notes on what specific traits you like in the girls you get to know. Keep your conversations clean and respectful and stay where the group can see you so the youth leaders don't get twitchy (they already go through a lot, trust me 😑).

Just my opinion/experience, most people are not ready to date one-on-one until they are 17 or 18, and even that can be a lot; I know it sounds awesome and glamorous but a lot of pain and confusion can come from dating, especially if you are dating the wrong person. Talk to God about it first and foremost, He really does care about that stuff!

I had a teacher in my primary school admonish the year 2s. Stop wanting to hold hands and get married. You are far too young!
She wanted them to concentrate on the lessons, like learning how to read, write and spell, but they were too busy making goo-goo eyes at each other.

At the other school I worked in, which was Year 1- Year 13. Ok I kind of missed out on the 14-15 age group because they didn't come to the library. They would have been year 10-11? The seniors, I had to make sure they were doing their studying in the library and not using it as a secret rendevous (which I could see! ahem!). I had to make sure the immature boys were not harassing the girls.
I had to deal with bullying, mean girls who made other girls cry, racism, and one boy who wanted to look at naked boys in the Asia Book. Or something - it had photographs of people who had no clothes on because they were like, swimming (with back to the camera) or in a really hot tropical country.

I remember the Year 6s being prudes, and some wanted me to hide the illustrated picture books that had naked babies in them. One child, maybe it was a Year 3 found the book 'where do I come from' and was grossed out.

Some children thought I was only slightly older than them. They would ask me where my husband was, or did I have a husband? They may have been curious, but well, the boys are not supposed to be in love with the librarian. I mean how would that even work.
But I couldn't stop the senior bands from practicing 'I believe in miracles, you sexy thing' on their trombones the floor above the library.

Yea school is weird. Sometimes, the hormones are so raging that everyone just has crushes on each other, and they could be different from one week to the next. I mean even the teachers were sometimes like, getting a bit personal. Well thats just what happens when you work together and see each other every day.

Boundaries. Always boundaries. I don't know what sex ed children are getting these days, but I really didn't get much, and NOBODY was teaching any lessons on dating. It was like, you wanna go out with a wolf? Ok good luck.

huh church people are lucky you had youth group.
I didn't go to church as a teen, but others I knew did, and they never invited me. But you know, it doesn't matter now. I survived.
